I never would have asked you to meet inworld if I felt hatred. I understand you refused, but it would have been nice to have a realtime conversation

Don't take that personally.  I'm in a dark place at the moment and don't really talk to anyone inworld.

Yes, cept you creepy third person @Orwar.  I do reply when you pop in my IMs to say "hi".

Well Jordan, your here. You can't hate me that much. Or maybe you do.....that much!!!

And lol, I actually like you!!!

I get concerned when you say you get hatred, because as one of your most vocal thread opponents, I wonder if you lump me into that category.  I do not hate you as a person, but I do hate or disagree with some of the things you have said or say you do.

There is only one person on these boards I can honestly say I do hate, but it relates to inworld stuff not board stuff.

  3. How about stop promoting yourself as "porn" and starting threads that are just extensions from other threads (ie this topic was touched upon in the naughty pics on Flickr thread).

I haven't seen any hatred towards you, the person, in these threads.  It has been dislike of the things you do or say and your total disregard of the consequences for them that has people being negative towards you.

As @RowanMinx said, unless you name and shame them, or they do it themselves, we won't know (and in my case won't care) who your friends are.

Edit - Referring to yourself in the third person in the title is just creepy!

i am totally aware of this and happily change if asked but in the case i mentioned was at a store no request or anything just gone. and i 100% approve their choice to do so after all it is their land. but i also took it as a signal they did not want to make a sale and made note if it for when i shop on marketplace.

I wouldn't give them my lindens either.

I have been pixel snobbed a few times and not because of the quality of my avi i have plenty of good mesh stuff but i have been banned on sight at a few places because people see someone in a avatar with hooves, horns and a pointy tail and assume troublemaker, and it's that locations owner / manager's prerogative to do so.

But it's precisely the same attitude.  The demand to meet a certain standard, and if not, you will be banished.  It's a disgusting mindset, whether it manifests itself in the real world or the virtual one.

Just pointing out that if you go to a location where the owners have decreed a certain look (ie must be human avatars) and you rock up as a centaur or furry or cute little elf, well you are going to asked to humanise your avatar or leave.  Some places do ask for a level of avatar looks and whilst it might be snobbery, well it is their place, their rules and their prerogative to do so.

  6. I agree 100% with everything @Tari Landar has said and posted, being a judger myself!  But one thing missed in this whole debate...

Taking pictures is NOT easy, especially when they are pictures taken "in action", so to speak.  You need to get the angle and lighting right, and capture the "action" just at the right moment where everything is in just the right position and body parts are where they should be - not going into the bed or each other etc.  That takes so much time and concentration (been there, taken MANY action pics).

I would be pissed if I had paid you thousands for a pixel bone and instead of being the focus of your attention and you there to fulfill my needs you were dicking about with camera angles and trying to catch the right pic instead of dicking about with me.

So make an alt to pose with you?

That's what my M-Alt is used for...cept I don't take *that* sort of picture...for public consumption anyway.  And he lacks a certain part of anatomy needed for those anyway.  He just comes in handy when I need a male bod for a picture since I no longer have available male photo props.

  8. Unfortunately Itty Bitty closed a couple of days ago, but I do recommend checking out the gallery on the Seraphim site (under Fairs) and then you can get an idea of some of the stores who are embracing the petite option and then you can look for them instore or at future events.  Itty Bitty is going to be a monthly event, so look for it again in Sept.

As a petite convert, some stores I recommend who have also embraced it...

Fleur, Erratic, Ricielli, Violent Seduction, Dead Doll, Masoom, Salt & Pepper, Addams, Blueberry, Tetra (check out their Collabor88 release!), Adorsy.

Be sure to check the vendor posters and demo to ensure that there is a petite option as it is a new thing just starting out and older releases may not be updated with it yet.

Edit - dropped Battlecat a NC with some links.  Hope it helps!

  9. So yesterday I was standing around on the new skypad I had just rented when I got an out of the blue IM from someone I have never met.  We conversed for a little bit and at the end of it, he asked me to a "prom" which will be starting soon.  Here's the pic of me looking all prettiful and waiting to see it he shows up.

    I'm not holding my breath.

Edit - Good thing I didn't hold my breath.  Another case of all dressed up with no place to go....

I often see threads from people looking for friends and replies saying "Add me, we'll be friends blah blah blah" and I often wonder how that goes.  Do they end up becoming friends, or do they talk once or twice and then become a placeholder name on the friends list?  Are they someone you only talk to when no-one else is online, or do you make an effort to hang out and talk often?  Or do you add them, talk once and then discover they are a psycho hose beast and you regret reaching out to them?

Btw - this comment wasn't aimed specifically at @Bagnu.  I am interested to hear other opinions and thoughts, even experiences on this...cos as i said, I often wonder about it.

Kinda like the person in the employment section who is always "interested" in all the job vacancies...but that's another topic!

I mean. The days I actually go in-world, and you're also online, anyway. :P

Yeah true.  I have been even more anti-social lately.  I have a really bad habit of letting SL stuff get to me and I need to take some time out.

. . . And occasionally, when you confront them about it and ask why it is they never even try to hold up their end of a conversation, they accuse you of 'constantly trying to get into their knickers'. Like, I'm terribly sorry you got that impression from 'Hello there! I saw your thread on the forum and thought I'd reach out. How are you today?'. Shrugs.

Orwar talks to me inworld at least every other day...and has not once tried to get into my knickers!  And yes, I do wear them!!!

  13. Not disparaging your friendships in any way shape or form, but something I have often wondered about from reading these boards, facebook etc.

As for me, the majority (like 80% of it) is related to my SL work, and I have maybe 2 or 3 people on it I talk to regularly.  Then there is all my alts who only talk to me when they want money to go shopping!!!

I'm sure that 'bad vibe' might be appropriate in some instances.  I will say that I and friends have dressed up in odd/creepy/inappropriate avatars just for sh**s and giggles.  I'm not creepy (at least I don't think I am) yet I do love to just goof around at times.

You reminded me of years ago when two friends and I used to put on Nutella Jar avatars and go to strip clubs for lap dances!!!  And another one who would put on a fat shape with me, dress skanky and hit the clubs!

I miss them, and those days!!
