    I have a theory:

If someone (like you or Rowan) is "put together" REALLY well, and their avatar / AO / etc. exudes a certain confidence, then it may put off "those who just want to use you";  you're out of their league!

Actually, I think it's because of how you look from what I've been told by male friends.  Someone who is extremely well put together is intimidating.

I always thought it was cos my avi is the Kendall Jenner in a grid full of Kardashians....ie skinny and petite instead of the chunky overblown proportions that seem so popular these days.

Is it only me who find all the last names available, not only these, childish and anime-ish?

Agree 100%.  I changed my name back in December, and it was a struggle as I prefer names that are "normal".  At the time there were only three that I considered as such.  Sure the childish and anime names are "cute" and some people like them, but some of us wanna be boring and normal and at the price LL charges, deserve more choices.

I met a woman several years ago and we chatted ONCE.   I had mentioned to her at the time that I like what she'd written in one of her Picks.   I see her a week or so later and she's taken several of my picks and used them in her profile...word for word.  My words!  I didn't even bother saying anything to her but I did put a little mention about people stealing things from profiles in my own profile with her name attached.  Quotes are one thing.  Stealing someone's own words is another, IMO.

I met a fellow at a club a while back, loved a few things he had in his profile and have some of them para-phrased in mine.  The difference - I asked his permission (and got it) first.

Worse is seeing pics of yourself taken from Flickr on someone else's profile.  Been there!!!

  4. I spent two years only logging in to shop, sort my inventory, taking pics to keep up with blogging, logging out.  I couldn't handle how SL made me feel for the longest time.  Then I thought I was ready to put myself out there again and started venturing into clubs, trying to be more sociable...but that bit me on the butt so stopped doing that.  Tried the relationship track - BIG mistake.  I'm back to where I was not wanting to be in SL again.  Thank goodness for Netflix!

I hope we both manage to pull ourselves out of this funk!

It's been a while since I approach my pictures in a different way (using injected shaders and dynamic super resolution instead) but if memory serves, depth of field settings are tied to a specific resolution. Thus if you set it up to be just right with your screen resolution - but then go and set it to a higher resolution in the snapshot window, it will mess up the depth of field. Black Dragon at some point had a function (or still has? haven't used that in a while) to automatically approximate the settings, I'm not sure whether any of the other viewers do.

So if I am reading what you are saying right, I should have my snapshot window set to screen size?

  6. These were from a Pocket Gacha set back in 2018!  I have been looking everywhere for them, but poop out of luck!  If you have them and are willing to let me borrow them for about a week for a picture, I would be eternally grateful!!

  7. I'm looking for more of a natural style, not the clumpy big look I am finding.  For some reason, all the ones I have been trying turn out to look like inch long spider legs sticking out of my eyes!  If anyone has any suggestions of where to look, I would appreciate it.

  8. I'm coming out of my flounce to give my opinion as someone who was a part of the Les Belles community and was interested in participating more.

The events were always at a bad time for me, and probably a lot of members.  There was only one time option, which only suited people in the European time zone or didn't work or sleep for others.  The chosen time of 10am - 12pm was 5am - 7am for me...and I wasn't conscious.  I would have LOVED to come to the parties and was really interested in attending the blogger and photographer discussion groups.  If there had been two time options, ie 10am and then another at 6pm (for example), I would have been there with bells on.

The competitions were fun and I enjoyed the two I entered.

I'm sad to see the sim go, and that the Flickr group has been disabled.  Thank you for trying.
