  1. And yet, my early daze experiences were totally different from Dilli's. On a tater.

No, I couldn't run it on high graphics but I didn't have near the tech problems other people did, just low frame rates, which everyone had. Well. Almost everyone. There were those with the big fancy powerhouses but not everyone had/has that kind of money.

No, but here is the thing. You are responsible, to keep yourself well informed. So if you can't hear that well, and I totally feel bad that you can't. Then you find other avenues to get your info.

You mean like a so badly written, unorganized forum post that is nearly a forum page long itself.

Get off that bronco before you get thrown.

They literally livestreamed it yesterday, on YouTube. So if you couldn't get in, then you could always watch it live. There was literally a link in the official Q&A that directed you to it.

I have hearing loss. What good will it do me when I can't understand what is being said. Have they CCed it? Are they depending on YouTube crappiest CC? I'm not alone and there are people who are fully deaf in SL. Are you going to tell them to go watch a video they can't hear at all?

They had a town hall. just yesterday. Which they covered in detail, through user questions, about tillia.

A Town Hall with a total of 84 people at it out of thousands. Region capacity is 100.

Yes, everyone in SL should attend every Town Hall. Thousands of people need to try to cram themselves into a region that holds 100 people, all at once. Brilliant!

Unfortunately, no such support ticket option exists for a general enquiry that I could find.

Though seems like the dashboard is broken at the moment as it states that the last time I "processed credit" was in 2013 which would be about right, but for some reason also lists the same transaction as being made in 2007 lol.

I assume 2013 is well before Tilia, as people have mentioned it being implemented 3 years ago. Hopefully this is the case and means I don't have an account.

Honestly, it could go either way since you did "process credit" at some point. If it were me, I'd be expecting to have one and hoping I don't. In the meantime I'd use whatever classification I can see that even remotely comes closest to general support to file a ticket or I'd call the offices in San Fran. and ask them to check on it. (415) 243-9000  You might need to be a little bit assertive if you call. Depends on who answers the phone.

I'm not easily peeved, but I do get annoyed by people who seem proud of being unable to handle mathematics. Women catch a lot of the stereotypical blame for this one, but I have seen plenty of men who can't even add a column of numbers and don't recognize it as a deficiency. I can understand being overwhelmed by differential equations and non-Euclidean geometry. That's the stuff for professionals and true masochists. Basic arithmetic, foundational statistics, and the ability to interpret graphs, though, are everyday survival skills for adult life.  People who can't grasp them are easy prey for con artists, shady accountants, and other purveyors of empty promises. There's no pride in saying, "Oh, I'm just not good at that stuff."

I am convinced that everyone reaches her own level of comfort with math and has trouble with anything more difficult. I certainly know where my own limit is.  What annoys me are people who settle for something far short of the limit and laugh it off -- especially women who reinforce the stereotype that being good with numbers is somehow unfeminine.

    Introduce them to Katherine Johnson.

I have withdrawn years ago, but didn't have any indication that a separate account had been created. So if this is the case and one was created without my permission, not only is it wrong but if it will mean me having a TOS popup for Tilia I wont be accepting now that it is being labeled a Bank Account. Already have enough of those in my own country. Certainly don't need one in the USA to complicate things.

Easiest way to be sure is to log into the SL website and see what the USD balance is. If it's been long enough ago, prior to the creation of Tilia, you won't necessarily have an account.

Maybe file a support ticket and ask? It wouldn't take them 5 minutes to look up the info.

Hopefully you won't be one of the ones that "falls through the cracks".

Probably. I forgot about the premium group saga a few weeks ago.

Now all they need to do with this Tilia nonsense is confirm when these now named "Bank Accounts" will be created. If they are created automatically for every resident irrespectively of agreement to the TOS, of which I would assume to be illegal, then it opens up a whole new can of worms.

Unless I am interpreting Labs' responses and info incorrectly and there is no new account created and they mean just our SL accounts.

Basically, if you have never withdrawn, you shouldn't have a Tilia account so you shouldn't even see the popup on August 1st.

I have to admit though, I'm wondering how many people have never looked and might actually have a small balance. The few times I've ever happened to notice the USD balance on my "profile" on the SL website it's always been $0.00 because I've never withdrawn or converted Ls to USD to pay premium. If you have done either you have an account already.

Good to hear, though if this was what they said from day 1 of the announcement, 99% of all issue with the with Tilia integration wound have been non existent. It sounds like they rushed the announcement like usual without thinking ahead about what the backlash would be and it took hundreds of posts to change their minds. Hopefully they have learnt from this.

What am I saying, its Linden Lab... I give it half a year for it all to happen again.

I give it about 3 months. They seem to be batting a thousand for quarterly.

What if LL took a page from Blizzard's release of their 2004 version of World of Warcraft (WOW) and released SL Classic, a version of SL from 2006? Would you be willing to play in those nostalgic days of purple shirted girls and white shirted guys?

Will we have Tringo and Slingo again? If not, don't bother.

The town hall can be later - giving people time to prepare is nothing wrong. But I agree they should have prepared a better press release when breaking the news.

I probably should have been a little more specific. They needed to do more than just having a better press release. They needed to have the information ready to go when they made the announcement and they did not. Again. And they obviously didn't do some of the needed research into it either.

Remember the surveys we used to get on log in once in a while? How long has it been since anyone has seen one? I haven't gotten one since I started logging in again back in September/October and we used to get them a few times a year... maybe once a quarter? I forget. Anyway. If they stopped doing them because not enough people were bothering with them, maybe instead of doing them every so often and asking the same questions over and over, only do them when they have something they are going to roll out for the grid to get feedback before ever making a "this is how it is and this is how it's going to be" announcement that turns out portions of either aren't good policy or legal.

At this point, almost anything would be better than what we've been getting. Almost anything. Almost. Horseshoes. Hand grenades. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

This one covered TIllia, like they answered questions, and explained it in a bit more detail. This is the one, that just happened today.

I know that. I've known that since they announced the Town Hall this past Monday (it's Friday). That isn't what was being said.

Go back and re-read what Scylla said and maybe you'll start to understand what "in the first place" means.

They already did that today, I even attached the video to my reply.

Today isn't in the first place. Today is several days late and many dollars short... meaning they should have done the Town Hall when they made the announcement.

I really need to build the debug version of the viewer to see what the problem is. Only then can I give any meaningful feedback. It might just be a case of incompatible libraries between their target distro (Debian/Ubuntu) and my runtime distros (Tumbleweed & Solus).

Umm... I never mentioned feedback... I said "ask for help". Quite a few knowledgeable about those distros in the group that could help solve the crashing problem. Might even be a wiki troubleshooting page on it if you were to look.

The FUD,  there is so much going around even in world over this,  people are adding new info each day it seems,  when LL has one thread with everything they stated.   I've heard to have more than 5000 items in your inventory you need to purchase some kind of LL gift card.   I think a big time meeting/press release needs to hit every resident in SL.

This is one of those times I am glad I don't have a bunch of friends in SL. :S

So how far should we go to make women 'feel safe', if figuratively sitting on the lap of an officer of the law isn't enough to turn an unwanted advance down?

Like the ex military sergeant turned police officer taught in his pistol training class, "Whatever it takes."

Although, like I said in another post, even in a place like SL, knowing you can't be touched physically isn't always enough. You know it isn't possible but you can't stop the reaction.

The main things to know are patience and time.
