well if I was to agree with everyone, then thats fine, if no one has a degree of responibity ,then LL should give me thier ID and let me deal with it, or better still, I should start becoming a greifer, because thats what your saying,I there is no degree of rules, then I should just join them and give them what they give to me and others, As for social networking sites, I think your find that the goverment is looking into blackberry and facebook and seeing if they have some sort of responbity after those riots if not be sure that the rules will change, I not for a big brother society but its the same old case, place some degree of ordder before its place upon you via Laws. But going back SL,there are ways of detering cyber trolls or greifers and LL should look into that, because the vast majity are not like that in SL so why should we let the minority rule.

I agree that not all the ID should be used, but only some part which can be used to verfiely the person, that would then give a message to anyone who feels that just creating a avatar to grief would know they can get caught and thier true avatar could also be booted. as it is now, anyone can make an avatar and as many as they want and cause enough greif on others, thats not on.

LL can do something, ands thats to verfiey duplicate account creators, if you wanted to create another Avatar, the account should ask for some proof IE paypal details, last 4 numbers with the name of the credit card,or even an adress that can be verfiley to a credit card, anything that would make it easy for LL to check agaist known accounts , that way if a griefer choosing to create another Av for the sole purpose of grefing and he gets reported, its easy for LL to check that account with any exsisting accounts and if its found reports have been made with the other av to the same person, bann him., done its easy.

so bloody true SL has lost its shine, thats for sure, it not what it was its what it has become, many factors come into play, 1: The Viewer, well that has had so many problems people just left. 2: Lag,crashes, all that too. 3: marketplace, the days when the was an abudent of shops on sims, this allowed sims owners to buy huge chunks of land, create malls ,rent out shops, create clubs, allow peoploe to create shops and rent ,you had the people going shopping, that all fell to the wayside since marketplace,. 4: since we arfe in a resession, why has LL not lowered the tier for exsisting accounts and cheaper for newbies, surely that makes sence to keep exsisting members and also help create new members. 5: like all empires, they come and they go, LL needs to look and see what it wants to do.

if anyone knows of a police force in SL that can help, please forward me the details, as I do not have any faith in LL so any help would be great

My partner and I now getting to the point of closing our accounts and get the hell out of SL, why, we are fed up with griefers ,before any one says anything ,yes filed countless reports, even had a member of LL coming to SL when we were getting griefed only be told to file yet another abuse report, and yes we did block all these griefers who run a a republic group in SL the leader calls himself a " troll" another name for a cybernet grefier. finally they stopped, but guess what 2 newbies one day old IM us giving us grief again, I know its the same lot. but what the hell does one do? LL does not have any security or safe guards to stop people creating reapeated Avatars, why do they ask for a age verifaction or something so if a new Av get reported LL,s can see if that person has another AV and better still see if its been reported for abuse. I and my partner will not take this crap much longer if we do not get any support from LL, then we are out of SL, thats the bottom line, and I know many people who have left Sl for this given reason, LL has to take the lead and ban these accounts,

Your right in what you are saying , not that I agree, " a wall of a shame is a statement" thus placing a picture without consent on a wall the dipicits that statement is defaming I belive it does not need any text to make that judgement, but to goes as far, this guy does have statements under the pictures , At the end of the end how and when and were it is obtained does not give anyone any right to use it in a manner to undermind,defame or belittle anyone, the crux of all this was it obtained under consent, because if anyone is going to defend taking a picture and plastering it anyway and little them getaway with it, well it opens a whole can of worms, " what if two people are having sex , does that give me the right to place their picture on a wall for all to see? hmmmmmmmm ,

We here to agree and disagree if thats the case LOL , but some points to consider, 1: how was the RL picture obtained, if obtained without owners permission and posted ,I would think a very legal case would stand, and if reported to LL and nothing was done then LL would have a case to anwer too. 2: I also belive but never read it myself, if the terms and conditions we agree to when we join SL, there must be something there written that we must abide too. 3:in the end there is a thin line of legal and illeagal in SL, one being it's a game so difficault to police, I not a ruler of law or that we cannot have fun, but I do think as players we do have a duty to be morale, not to inpeed or insult others or upset .defame or and steal ( copyright) there are more but not going to list.but think you get my drift.

I think a picture of one entering a club is pretty harmless but now one has to send a message prior to the club showing it provided its been accepted, this is good practice, but I think posting a picture for any other reason especially to defame or insult is another matter,and that is were LL should come down on persons that do that kind of thing, I know it's a game but there has to be some rules inplace or evething would be turn to mayhem.and although my picture is a avatar, imagine that poor person who has there RL pic posted on this " wall of shame" is that going to far, even to the fact that really legal action should be taken upon the owner and the person who posted it.

I Think we missing the point slighty, showing a pic in a club or shop does not really a privacy matter as someone said, my point is this its a delibrate act, firstly his title " wall of shame" as for others to see, with no permission to dispplay and no right to make a judgement as he already defamed by the title in a place as to were the public have acess and see..

Maybe I did not make myself clear sorry, the guy has a wall of shame on his sim in secondlife, so I assume that Lindens has some bear of responbility on what is done in SL, I am sure one cannot do something like that, because if that the case then all mayhem is then let loose, so degree of rules must apply, one being consent from others what is posted either text or pictures, if a club asks for permission to allow them to post your pic into a club then surly this guys is doing illegal.

My Partner has some land and she has set to her groupm she has made an owner to the group too but for some reason I cannot change they sound stream on her land and a couple of other permissions, can anyone help were we going wrong

As I tend to agree with you to a cetain point the blame for stores the way they are is LL, I belive they pushed the market place as it give them a cut, before many people would shop from stores but have you ever tried using the search engine to find a product, remember when the re-vamped the search last time, you typed jacket and all you got was sexy products I think you get my drift, plus the demised of people in LL, those who had bought large sims and large plots would have that subsided via rentals but as you can see due to LL's market place no one want to rent shops due to no sales and direct comp with marketplace hence the demise in land owners, I use own many shops too, and I agaist my will ended using marketplace. so really it's not the land owners but I belive not a fair playing field when it comes to shops vs marketplace, this being the search engine and advertising the shops is crap.
