  2. every time i try and sign in to the forums, i get "this page not found" error, what up computa folks??
  3. Is there anyway to set an entire sim to the windlight setting you desire, without going parcel to parcel setting them on the land description which takes up that space and looks tacky on your listings? Would be a great add on to the estate tools, yes?
  4. good to know that they seriously may let us go up to 64M, does anyone know when this might become reality on the main grid ?
  5. Dear Mr. Linden, why o why after all this time, when its been totally proved Huge, Giant, Mega prims will not crash SL into the sea, we still do not have the ability to create and transform these prims in Second Life?? Here's my argument: if your a creator, a mega prim in your creation is made by another creator and this as we all know leads to many permission problems down the road. When working with them, the teeniest nudge to improve a prim shape to your needs, squashing it or pulling it longer, leads to the disaster of the prim going back to our "allowed" 10 M size. Most creators using them dare not make a modifiable object for sale, knowing full well someones going to try and improve its size. As a creator, its my goal to take items to other Open Source worlds, i do not have that option here in SL, as it is, i rent a sim in Avination where huge prim creation is allowed, to create and use my own huge prims. You have no idea how refreshing it is to have this ability, and frankly speaking i could be plugging that $60 bucks a month into SL. Just a few thoughts to perhaps roll around, they are in world, but its a nightmare to use them as the are, after being in another world where its totally allowed and encouraged. Thanks Mr L, great job so far, just gimme some big boys to play with and I'm a happy camper :D

  8. Tribute concerts are all the rage right now, its a great platform for bringing a favorite band to life in SL. We work in an entertainment platform called "Rising Star Entertainment" and we have done some great metal bands. We also can do any band anyone requests, this includes a professionally cut and produced sounding show, avatars built to match the actual band members, instruments as true to the RL ones as possible, and stage design. Professionally done lighting, sound, and quality, as many of our members have been involved in band production, NY, Vagas, etc, and i think our shows prove it..if your interested IM me in world, and we can advise you of any open dates
  9. Well..as far as licensing goes, its no worse than DJ's...our band, i would imagine no one realizes the work involved, first you have to find some decent live performances, run them thru electronic programs to clean them up, cut songs, cut out chatter, cover over cuts with crowd sounds, and pay for a stream to get the finished product into SL. Then you have to create the avatars to resemble, or look like the actual band members. The stage design can be minimal, but we like to try and add interest there too, with some design that brings in the ambiance of the performance. We pay alot for quality instruments to add realism, and study the band in concert to get movement and interaction down. We have worked for probably over 160 hours this week getting a show ready between 3 members, so we call it in game entertainment, we don't make enough tips to cover our expenses usually, but we all enjoy it immensely, the love of the bands and the music, its what we do. Perhaps next time if your enjoying a show, think about the work involved to bring it to you, its called tribute for a reason, we try and bring honor to the band we are portraying and bring it to life for you in Second Life.
  10. I know it costs to run companies, and i don't think any of us that pay for sims, don't understand the maintenance involved, and LL's right to a profit. But how much money is enough? Look at all the sims out there, that are up and running, and i can't believe there's not an exorbitant amount of money being made here. Good internal management of a company speaks volumes to me. Highly paid upper level management at everyone else's expense, including their own employees, which i could suspect may be the case here, says its all about how much perhaps they are looking at their own salaries and bonus's rather than keeping SL alive and well. I would be the first one not to complain if even the programming advancements were more forthcoming, better thought out, the V.2 viewer being the prime example. Yes i agree there could be more stringent terms placed on who gets educational discounts, and who does not, am sure there's some cloaking of requirements on some sims, and yes if its for education, prim usage could be lowered and not affect the quality of that. But i know for a fact that any corporation that ignores civic responsibilities, and charitable needs of its community, is on a downward slide that usually cannot be stopped once that thought process and policy becomes fact.
  11. All excellent points shockwave, i think LL should take one further step, that adults allowed on the teen "G" grid, have background checks done to be sure they are not pedifiles. The pricing in this time, when most have lost their jobs and are hanging on to their homes by the skin of their teeth is not the time to increase ANYTHING..in fact they need to come down on pricing to reflect if not anything else, the reduced quality on an already horrid customer service department. i am a member of a sim group, that buys and sells used sims, and the going rate for one is about $325 to $450 USD, if that says anything about the economy in SL, and they drop ads for sales about every hour, from different individuals, one man week before last put 40 full sims and 10 homesteads on the blocks for less than half price. Yeah ppl are leaving in droves, someone in San Fran needs to put the hooka down and breath in some reality and soon.
