  4. Toy, Nikita - perhaps the reason some larger merchants don't do anything right now is because they are worried that (as this group plans lawsuits and sends letters to the Federal Trade Commission with copies sent to Rodvik) one day they will be unable to log into SL. Didn't that happen to someone who filed a major lawsuit against LL?

Awe Thor wrote: "You're shocked when something LL is involved in doesn't work? Yet you don't seem to be a n00b . . ." No I'm shocked about what the fact that it doesn't work implies, or could imply, and it is something far beyond a technical glitch.

  7. 60 times?! The thing has gone berserk. HAL???? We need to get Hal on our side ;0 So far 10 charges for me for just one subscription - even 2 more charges since I chose not to renew it - at almost 4 usd a pop that's 40 usd today. Looking forward to more renewals coming up
  8. I can't join the United Content Creators Of SL group from the link posted above either..
  9. I haven't submitted a support ticket yet but according to your other thread it looks like they refund at the beginning of the following month?
  10. I've just been charged for 8 subscription ads today and I only have 3 active - and the day is not over. So watch your subscription ads everybody...again (unless you're smart unlike me and cancelled them all).
  11. LL really needs to clarify this. If they don't I think we can only assume the worst. Two clients of mine already decided to purchase sims elsewhere for their projects due the new TOS, though one really wants/needs the advantange of the large populus here. After contacting their attorney one said he's convinced the TOS means what it says - that LL owns all the content in SL now and can do what they please with it - and he's not willing to spend the time/money to develop sims here when the content won't belong to him.
  12. Full estate rights. 7,500 prims Sim surrounded by water on all sides. Contact Luna Bliss if interested.

  14. It's for rent, not for sale. And I am open to renting only half the sim.
  15. I'm basically a content provider in SL for nearly 10 years so feel assured that I will be around and your land won't poof. I have 2 sims that I just don't want to let go of, so I rent them out. 7500 Prims on 32768sqm I can change the texture for you if you're the first one to rent the first half, and place a nice sim divider between you and your possible neighbor.

  18. Spica Said: "Sometimes I wonder, are merchants really so very worried about IPR's or is it more about anti-competitive wishes and the notion that if better stuff enters SL they will make less money as a consequence lost to the 'professional' competition? Personally I think that if better stuff enters SL, it would attract many more peeps willing to spend more money and be a win win situation for everyone. ;-) " Hey great idea Spica...maybe LL can change the name from Second Life to Second Thief too!
  19. Good you started a discussion on this Rya, and posted the woman and ivy rip. I had no idea the woman and ivy statue I used in one of my water creations was ripped - I just removed it from the MP and will delete it in my store when I can get in-world. Maybe as we see ripped items in SL we can increase awareness by posting the link to the ripped source, without naming any store here of course. However, the MP doesn't get a lot of views, so best to do it @ SLUniverse too.
  20. Frawmusl Said: "I don't understand the flaming, LL allows you to use their interface to make and sell creations..And be paid real money, I guess I've never understood why people are so hateful on LL. "Oh let us put our virtual world for people to access and use for free, and even let them make money! Im sure they'll all hate us for it, It'll be awesome!" ~~~ I'm not sure you realize, as a new person, that it is the residents in SL who build SL. It is not like a typical game where a game developer pays a contract worker mega bucks to create the world. They need us (creators of content) as much as we need them, and there should be a mutual respect. I was not serious when I sent you over to SLUniverse to get a job as a Mole. I was actually showing an example of how this mutual respect as not been forthcoming from LL, and I wanted you to see that sometimes there is a reason for the frustrations of merchants. This game belongs to LL for sure, and it has evolved to be more like other games despite user generated content, but long ago people thought it would be the metaverse (more like a platform), kind of like a 2nd world online where people were more free. People thought it should belong to everyone and not just some game-god, however LL has continually taken more control and I'm not sure the results are so good as we are hemorrhaging people and sims. This is why you see the frustration of some oldies here - they do not like how SL evolved in this limited way and is now basic a little corporation controlled by those at the top. It's interesting that you mentioned the part about clients having all the drama if they get lessons from you for free. I think this is such a good example of why we should never give things out for free - most customers do not really appreciate free items and automatically think of them as cheap and worthless. It's actually an insult to the customer as if you view them as a charity case or not capable of earning their part in the energy exchange between you. I do have a freebie appreciation gift to those in my store, but it is because I appreciate their support and want to give something back - good energy exchange. My Reiki (healing technique) teacher taught me this long ago - she often talked about an experiment in the beginnings of the Reiki system where people who received free treatments went back to their old ways while those who paid actually healed.
  21. Jenny you said: "The "work from home whenever you want" is not a stable job though, in fact it's not a job at all, LL didn't hire you, if you can make money thanks to SL, that's great, I have a lot of admiration for deservedly successful people, but it can stop anytime, it's out of your control, nothing can give you the guarantee that you'll make as much money as usual the next month, even if you work hard for it, maybe someone else worked harder and took your spot, etc. That's what I meant. And not being prepared for it, or in other words, relying on SL for your RL money income without making sure you can handle earning less if it ever happens, is not a really bright idea." ~~~ I agree...if you have a stable job best not to abandon it for a job in SL, but someone like Alexxis who is already earning a decent income can always get a job flipping burgers if her SL job tanks. I guess one could argue that it might be best to build a better, more stable job in RL than spend time here. However, most jobs in RL these days are not so stable. Lots of creators are disabled too, and there is no RL job to go to. Anyone considering quitting their day job and going to SL full-time should realize that it's much harder than it appears - most anyone who has made a significant amount of money here puts in 12 to 14 hour days, 7 days a week. I can't work that much anymore - it made me ill and I'm in the process of recovering.
