I think so too and it may be the house style. I abandoned my fantasy home because of that. The old fantasy region had more varied styles to choose from. These houses looks like medieval churches to me 😟Maybee they could update them with new models? Some smaller ones too?

You have a point there. Maybe they should build new smaller fantasy homes the way they built new larger houseboats :)

  2. Amazing location with big picture windows overlooking Sea of Fables. It sits on a cliff just above the sea, near a scenic Linden bridge --  thus the name "Bridge House." This house is also special in that you can either have it unfurnished with a 600 Prim Allowance or you can have it furnished with a 440 Prim Allowance (the furnishing take 160 LI of your allowance). The doorbell is a furniture rezzer - Click it and you get a menu that allows you to rez or derez the furniture. This house comes with a large "yard" including stone steps down to near the water. It is a great location for people who love to landscape their yards.

The weekly fee is $L 900 per week.

Pay for 5 weeks and get a 6th week free. Enjoy all the benefits of living at Ipperwash or Mount Campion parks - scenic surroundings, forest hiking, horseback riding, picnic areas, cave exploring, daily social activities, weekly dance, friendly park residents, etc. Location: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Drawbridge/84/96/32

This is only one of the sites at Mount Campion that happens to be available today. For information on other rentals, please visit our park office and check the rental boards: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Campion/109/89/285

So, y'all are the reason people are waiting for Linden homes? I dont get it. Why would you need more than ONE linden home? If the answer is, you like different houses, get a plot of land instead and change your house when you get bored of it.

Seriously people. Can you imagine how you would feel to pay $100USD for premium and be told there is a waiting list for your home? How much retention is that going to have? Greedy sons of...

No one is waiting for a linden home. ATM there are over 7600 available linden homes (according to the bonniebots statistics). When the linden homes first came out in 2019 (trads and houseboats) they sold out in 3 days. But since then, many many more linden homes have been made available.

If you check the land page of homes available to Premium or Premium Plus members, you will see many styles of homes available.

Your information (and your anger) is outdated.

  4. I am SO proud of myself. My friend invited me over to show me her absolutely stunning chalet neighboring an amazing Linden Flower garden. The neighbor house was still a linden home and had equally stunning view of the flower garden. I was SO tempted to put in a ticket requesting it but I managed to restrain myself.

I am down to 4 homes atm and did NOT add another even though it was an amazing location. In April when an annual alt expires, I will most likely go down to three. I am thinking that three is a nice number for me.

  5. Ipperwash Cliffs National Sea Shore Featured Rental for Jan 30, 2023

This cabin is secluded in lovely forest trees, and there is an amazing view of the Sea of Fables from the front yard (pictured below). It is located at Ipperwash Cliffs National Park, a sister park to Mt Campion National Park that is located on Sansara along the Sea of Fables.

You get 600 prims for only $L 670 per week. Pay for 5 weeks and get a 6th week free. Enjoy all the benefits of living at Mount Campion and Ipperwash Shores - scenic surroundings, forest hiking, horseback riding, picnic areas, cave exploring, daily social activities, weekly dance, friendly park residents, etc. Location: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Drawbridge/116/143/46

  6. I hear you on wanting to wait until the PP homes are released to pay for premium plus. However, I  would like to point out that there are other benefits that PP offers. I ran out of my 70 groups in Late November and went PP in December to get more groups. I do a lot of stuff in SL that require a lot of groups, so for me the extra groups was the motivating factor.

I dont do enough uploads to justify the price difference on uploads alone, but I do have to admit that it has been nice having free texture uploads as well.  But for me the deciding factor is the larger group allowance.

  7. HOUSE IS RELEASED NOW... I DOUBT IT WILL BE A LINDEN HOME FOR VERY LONG. (06:01 AM)

Fantastic Pier stilt... front faces east and has unblocked view of sunrise. Back/deck faces west and has nice sunset view. This is one of those rare stilts that doesnt have a house across from it on the pier. There is also a lovely plant area on the pier just to the left of the house, and it is an end spot. It only has 1 close neighbor, but this house is set more in than the neighbor so it doesnt feel crowded.

This is one of the nicest pier stilts I have seen and Haddock is a prettier than usual stilt region. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Haddock/69/44/23

If no one contacts me to coordinate the release before then, I will release it at 6 AM (just over an hour from when I am posting this).

  8. I am kinda figuring this out as I go, so helpful suggestions are extremely appreciated!

(I am kinda busy atm getting my hair store ready for shop and hop, but will get going more fervently on this Sea of Fables project after I am done with set up)

  9. Good point Love... I have two categories in the group.. .Land Owner and Land Manager. I guess rather than just doing an "about land" to see who the owner is, I should edit the stuff in the build to see if the build belong to someone else, and invite the owner of the build.

Thanks for calling that to my attention :)

Unfortunately, I don't own land there, but I just wanted to say that I think it's a wonderful idea, and I'd love to join something like that and will look out for it if I can sell my plot and buy land there or similar.

In any case, I'll have a look at Sea of Fables when I'll be in world next time, thank you to everyone who posted about it.

Thank you for your post InnerCity Elf :)

Here is an update on what I am doing... I have created a group called "Sea Of Fables Owners" and even created a couple of roles in it. I haven't had a chance yet to go around and talk to the land owners yet, but hoping we can form a community.

I have also purchased that marvelous pod system that gives tours around SL. My plan is to create a tour that goes to the privately owned lands along sea of fables who are nicely built and who welcome guests. BTW, for the purpose of my project, I am defining "Sea Of Fables Area" as the privately owned land along the sea of fables shore AND nearby sections of connecting rivers.

Since we dont already have a community for these land owners, I am hopeful that one will form :)

I hope that we will see you in the area at some future time.

Oh to be able to land a stilt home...

If anyone plans to abandon a stilt home over water or on the pier, please feel free to reach out. Thanks!

    hi Shai

I sent you a forum mail about 1/2 hour after you posted that I have an exceptionally nice pier stilt on  Haddock that I am ready to release. I haven't heard back from you yet... been close to 24 hours now. If you are interested and want to arrange a time to attempt to coordinate its release, please get in touch with me sometime today. If I don't hear from you today, I will just release it tomorrow anyhow.

    This is the location: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Haddock/68/44/24

  13. I am making progress. I ended up getting a new house (a trad) but I am letting go of both my stilts (because the new houseboats are similar) and my other houseboat. All three of the ones I am letting go are on really nice locations that I normally find hard to give up. But I have been "practicing" by derezzing all the furniture and landscaping decorations so they are empty lots. Then I wanted another week to make sure I won't miss them too much. Now I am ready to release them in the next 24 or 48 hours.

That will bring me down to four. Still a bit more than I need, but getting closer.

  14. the "ranch style" houses you pictured are very common in suburban california. They are not at all limited to the 50s.. some new houses are built in that style. Since I am a California girl, I am very comfortable with this style house. However, since I recently got the mainland of my dreams, I would be very surprised if I went after a 2048 ranch house ... but I bet they will be nice when they come out.

  15. It was tempting to enter this but I have been crazy busy, plus I get the impression it is intended more for people who are "professional" decorators.. e.g., those who people pay to decorate their homes and land. The entry form asks for flickr and web pages of their assorted designs.

I do look forward to seeing what people do in this contest, but I think I will sit this one out and the the people who are paid decorators demonstrate their abilities.

don't forget Laq Decor for low prim furniture. They didn't make much and the kitchen is a little heavy on prims but the dining table and chairs, sofa set, desk and armoir and bed and the toilet and sink unit are still some of nicest low land impact furniture you can get.

yes LAQ is great. I own almost everything they make furniture-wise and their kitchen is fantastic. It is a bit high on LI but it has amazing detail AND it has some fun animations.

Dysfunctional Designs. It used to be Dysfunctional Dolly Designs, hence the DDD group name. Their builds were originally aimed toward Roleplay sims, which tend to have a low prim allowance for renters. Their meshes have only gotten better, with low Li and often modifiable.

Other low Li mesh furniture stores: Apple Fall, Prim Perfect, Dekute Dekor, Bazzar.

If you can modify your furniture, consider removing shadow prims and linking simple box prims such as rugs and pictures to other pieces of furniture. It's a whole game in itself to get the lowest Li you can from the most pieces of furniture and decor pieces.

Dekute Dekor is one of my favorite stores, but it is not inexpensive.  Sadly Bazar has closed it's inworld store, but last I looked the web page is still up.

I am not familiar with Dysfunctional Designs but I am gonna go check them out. Thank you.

The kitchen from DDD is 4 Li. One really need to hunt low Li furniture, but that thread has some tips. This second link has several posts under it, for the same house. It also has 1 Li sofa furniture in the living room, I think. But what was this creator? PrimPossible or another super low Li store... I knew a name, but now I forgot it.

This kitchen is another DDD kitchen, a 2 Li one. DDD has really low prices too.

What is DDD -- I might want to go shop there as I love low LI furnature at low prices.
