Thirteen new Ranch regions have appeared on the World Map today. Ten of them contain Ranch houses, while the other three are empty Homestead sims, like at Blind Pete and Overall.

None of the thirteen new regions are accessible to Residents as of yet (03:00 SLT, 21st July 2023).

    Ranchexpansion20July2023.thumb.png.167085a9be58649ec5064cd5bfcbf060.png

The thirteen new regions are named as:

    Polka Time

Redpath Quarry, Always Saturday, Parsimony, French Kiln, Deaf Mule

Klikitat, Flapjack, Briar Hill (Homestead), Bobcat Ridge (Homestead), Junco (Homestead)

    Cradle Rock, Tubman

Homestead regions each have a 5,000 prim allowance and a 20 person capacity.

Thank you for the map update and the list of names. This kinda got lost in the debate of pods in belli... but I for one really appreciate this info and find it very helpful.

Piggybacking on this, if I switched to Premium, and I own mainland instead of a Linden Home, should I be getting reduced tier? Because that's the idea I got. I've got 5120 now, and I got the impression that with P+ I'd be getting 2048 of it free instead of the 1024 I got free before. But my tier has remained the same.

That's not the only reason I switched, and I plan to stay switched, but just trying to figure out if I misunderstood or if it's something to file a support ticket about.

they do tier in increments. The sizes include 1--512, 513-1024, 1025-2048, 2049-4096, 4097-8192, etc.... if you were at 5120 and had 1024 premium, that bring you down to 4096, putting you in the 4th tier (2049-4096). When you went to PP and got another 1024, that brings the amount of land you use down from 4096 to 3072. But as it turns out, that is still in the same tier increment. You get changed the same for everything between 2049 and 4096 .. in this case lowering the land you used by 1024 did not help with the tier increment you are in.

  3. The post made me curious, so I came by to take a look. What I saw was a partially built airport with the creator (who is not a BBB ambassador btw) actively working on it while I was there. When builds are in process, they can look pretty stark but still turn out to be nice when completed. So personally, I will wait until it is finished to draw my conclusion.

If you feel this build is breaking SL rules, such as overlapping on your property or blocking public access land, I suggest you AR it and let the Linden Governance team decide if it is an issue.

  4. I am putting an exceptionally nice newbrooke back on the market. I have lived here for 5 months and love it, but I need to cut back on my linden homes cuz I got a ranch. So this one is available. Has a lovely lake on 2 sides plus nice view of lake from front as well. It is pretty isolated from neighbors with streets on 2 sides and lake on 2 sides. Also, the yard feels spacious.

If you would like to coordinate a role for this one, please IM me. Otherwise I will release it early Monday morning.

Not a fan of Belli for myself, either but I do like Horizons which, IMO, is similar but without the strict rules.  No terraforming as you just mentioned and all.parcels are a set size.  I find it's the perfect balance between mainland, Belli and Private.

yes Horizons is nice and has double LI allowance as well... but it is outrageously expensive.... last I looked, I saw lots of places advertised over 300,000L for a 1048 lot.

  6. I am also at Carson's Folly. I rolled mine on my 5th roll as well.. but on July 7th. It is a very nice region and I can see why people want to be here. As far as I can tell all of the parcels are owned now. But it is very likely they will put another region and coast next to it (possibly on both sides) -- so keep watching this general area if you are looking for a coastal spot.

I am not sure what criteria they used for processing the many tickets submitted at 12:01 AM today.. I am guessing that there was probably some computer or network gating (ordering) going on since so many were probably  submitted simultaneously.

I just hope that when all is said/done everyone has a parcel they like.

A very nice wine caddy from What Next. 1 Li for the caddy with dispenser, and one Li decor glass if you will rez some of them. Only on sale for 50 L this Lazy Sunday, on the Marketplace. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/wn-Wine-Caddy/21954859

Wine and cheese to hold, male and female size, and they fit my avatar well. Also owner props included, if you will edit a glass or a cheese platter to fit just your shape.

"We've included this set of optional  copy version props for the dispenser owner's personal use.

The main benefit to these props is that they can be adjusted to fit or resized if needed, detached and kept in a folder and then be reused in future without the need to adjust each time you use them , unlike the temp attach version".

I am happy to hear how that worked out!  How did you know that others had been trying to land that one spot?  All I can think of is by sitting around watching it.....

That and a bunch of my friends IMed me with the slurl and told me they had been trying for it and were unable to land it and wished me good luck

  9. I posted earlier on anther thread that while I thought the ranch homes are very well done and very nice, they were not for me because I am a "by the water" type of gal. I had a nice houseboat on my premium plus account that I did not want to give up.

My friends talked me into upping an alt for one month to try out the ranch homes. She rolled a few that were nice, but not something I would want to pay an extra $250 a year to keep. Then it occurred to me... Premium Plus can request any non-ranch home now (and will be allowed to request the ranch ones soon). I could wait until shortly before LL opened for business, then abandon my houseboat and file a ticket for it on that alt I had upped to Premium Plus for a month.

It was a bit of a nervous 1.5 hours between when I abandoned the houseboat and when they processed my ticket. But fortunately no one landed that houseboat during my wait. And I was able to get it. At the end of the month, the alt will go back down to premium and keep that houseboat that I really like. I didn't have to give it up after all... and now my main Premium Plus account became free to roll for a Ranch home.

Then there was a cute house on Yowza that everyone was trying to get... it has a pond in front and a stream with a waterfall in the back. That was enough water that I could be happy, so I tried for it on my main alt... for 2 days... and was unable to roll it. But on my last roll of the day I landed something that was even better for me! I got a coastal spot!!! There is a small rolling hill between my parcel and the ocean, But I can see the ocean from my house and from my back yard! Woot!!! Perfect for me because I am a water type of gal!

I feel like I was able to have my cake (keeping the houseboat) and eat it too (getting the coastal spot).

BTW someone did finally land that spot we had all be trying for. But I like the one I got better than the one I was trying for and I am very happy :)

  10. It might just be me, but 5 of the 7 home styles the rooms seem too large to me and makes me want to add interior walls to divide them up.. but they I cant get nice dividing walls in because of how the windows are located. There are only two designs that I have figured out how to decorate to my liking. One is the L-shaped one (and yes, I did wall off the weird shaped areas with flat walls) which is named Silver Spurs. And the other is the little tiny Creek Stone one, which is basically a single room. It is cute, but a bit too small for me.

The parcel I got really doesn't want the L-shaped house, because it faces away from the best part of the front view (a little lake that you have to be raised up on porch t see over a stone wall). But I spent hours trying to come up with a room layout that works on the other rectangular homes... they look great on the parcel and the porch gives a great view of the pond, BUT.. I couldn't figure out how to decorate the huge huge living rooms or how to divide them up into smaller rooms. So I had to go with the L-shaped Silver Spurs and built an extra porch area at one end to view the pond.

Those of you who are successfully decorating the other styles with the huge living rooms and kitchen areas, I thought it would be great if you could share some tips on how you made it work well for you.

  11. Too bad about the wall frame for the bricks being black and un-modifiable.. if they had been on a separate texture face from the bricks I could have turned it to white wood and used in.. but as it is.. too dark for my color scheme... kinda clashes.  Also the LOD on the fireplace tools is awful, but the rest of the LODs seem OK to me.

Not a total waste though... saving it in inventory because it may come in useful in the future. It is cute

  12. Personally my store takes almost 1/2 of a region. It wouldnt fit into a tiny shop. I am only an intermediate sized business.

I can think of a lot of businesses where their store takes a whole region. I dont see many of the medium or big name stores moving to an area of tiny 1024 sq parcel shops... they wouldnt support enough vendors and display space for their products.

  13. (I originally put this in people->general discussion and it was suggested to me that since land ownership and Premium Plus memberships are strongly related, I move it here.. .so putting it here.)

I wasn't home during Monday's lab gab, but watched the recording of it right after I got home. As soon as I saw the lifetime memberships, I paused my video and submitted a ticket... but by then way more than 20 people had beaten me to it. I know that LL is doing a "play" on the number "20" in celebration of SL's 20th Anniversary.

I have an alternative suggestion for you.. what if you offer the lifetime Premium Plus to anyone who submitted a ticket within the first 20 hours? that gives those of us who were in RL during lab gab a chance becoming lifetime members too, and it still follows the "20" theme.

It's in Barker, not right on the water, but close enough. I have a pool. Folks are welcome to drop in for a swim or just to chill. It's right across from the even more perfect corner parcel.

I looked it up on world map and stopped by. It is a very pretty area, I can see why you like it.

  15. when I saw the name of this thread, I braced myself before opening it... assuming it might be something critical/hostile.

But when I read the post, I have to admit I totally enjoyed it.

I own a slew of permapet kittycats and I am sure they would all second, third and forth Eirynne's request.

I can certainly understand loving a specific location. What region is it on?
