Isnt this more of a "for rent" thread post than a general discussion post?

You might want to use the premium chat support to get help with this from the Lindens.

If you are on the firestorm viewer, you can derender unsighly neighbor garbage... just edit to get the owner and put the owner name in search, select all and blacklist. In case you dont know how to do that, here are the steps:
1. Edit one of the objects to derender and get owner name from editor
2. world->area search
3. Select filter tab and uncheck "neighboring regions" just in case it is not in the same region you are.
4. select Find tab. Enter the name from step one in the field marked owner. The hit search
5. Window will readjust to the List tab. right click any entry and select "Select All" from menu (it is near the bottom).
6. Right click again and select "Blacklist" from menu.

Yes. In my case, I have other alts that can check out homes. My point is that my expectation is to have FULL use of a service until I reach the end date, regardless of renewal status.
That is a reasonable expectation. I totally agree with you. I think they have a reason why they do that, because the downgrade cant work if a home is owned... but still...
I had an extreme case of this: I downgraded an alt from Premium Plus to Premium about 4 or 5 days before the annual term ended AND that alt (still premium plus) wasn't allowed to see houses either... even though the premium level she was downgrading to is still a level that allows you to get a linden home. I filed a ticket on it and got a IM response while I was afk... I answered it about an hour later and the linen replied "I am busy now but will look into it tomorrow." That was not fixed. My premium plus downgrading to premium was not allowed to get a linden home until the downgrade to premium was complete.
To me that is a seriously broken system.

Tis sad but true.
Another sad thing. I recently decided to downgrade an alt to basic. I abandoned my Linden Home and downgraded but still have another week or so left on Premium. Subsequently I decide to check out some other themes but ACCESS DENIED. The error message suggested my payment method was suspect. In fact, my payment method is fine.
And another sad thing. When you downgrade, you get a survey that appears to be trying to collect data on why you are downgrading. But it is MULTIPLE CHOICE, listing a bunch of usual reasons people quit. It’s like if you break up with someone only to have them tell you they were cheating the whole time. They also have a box for comments and I shared that I was downgrading because that alt had a mainland parcel courtesy of my land group.I believe you can undo the downgrade and access houses again.. then redo teh downgrade on the last day of the term .. unless you decide to keep a house. You can also contact support chat for help with this.

sorry the retry did not work for you. If you cant log it tomorrow after the time indicated, I guess you will need to file a ticket. Good luck

So Rebecca came over and saw my newbrooke, which was not too small for her. She ended up getting a newbrooke herself -- and with beginner's luck, she landed a nice location. I showed her how to get the security system and content creation pack out of the mailbox and she is all set and is now a happy Bellisseria resident.
Welcome to Bellisseria Rebecca

I think Rebecca is updating to bellisseria so she wont need to buy a security system.

Ok The newer homes were just way to small. Walking around them you were always looking outside and had to zoom in so close to you avatar. Thus the reason for the older home. I was bigger. More Room. So who makes a security system that would work with the older homes?
Rebecca0067
funny, the complaint about many of the newer linden homes is that they are too big. It is possible that you were looking at a Traditional Stye home, as those are small. I recommend you look at some of the other styles, such as fantasy, newbrook, victorian for example. If you would like to see a newbrooke home, you can come look at mine ... I think you will find that it is quite large: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Okay Pop/64/61/22

did you try logging in again after a short wait? I have seen that before when I crashed and tried to log back in too quickly.

Yesterday, I came across a bunch of avatars just sitting around inside a box, and doing nothing. They were there for the traffic, of course, and they are there again today. But judging by their profiles, and a poster for Radegast on the wall inside the box where they are, they give the appearance of not being scripted agents (bots), but avatars each logged in with an instance of the thin Radegast viewer. It's a bit of a grey area there. The avatars are not controlled by a programme, and each is operable by the RL person who logged them in just as if they were logged in with the LL viewer. It's like having a bunch of avatars logged in with the full LL viewer and leaving them where they are for the traffic. They would not be scripted agents, because they are not programmed. They are merely avatars that are logged in with a thin viewer.
I understand your point, and it is well made. You illustrate the difference between a scripted agent and a user-logged in avatar. But I wanted to say something about the assumption of why they were there... it isn't always just for traffic. Sometimes a person can work on multiple alts at the same time.
When avatars are sitting around in a skybox and appear to be "doing nothing," it doesn't mean they are really doing nothing. Let me share a recent example: I have 3 alts and had all three alts logged on yesterday via firestorm... in my skybox. I went through inventory moving some transfer stuff around between these three. All three have a large inventory and it took a few hours to sort through the transfer items and get them moved to the desired avatar.
Even though they appeared to be "doing nothing," they were actually all actively in use as I sorted through their inventories to share objects with each other. They weren't there for traffic... I was just working on all three of them at the same time.
It is true that sometimes people put avatars out to increase traffic, but there are actually valid other reasons for having more than 1 avatar logged in at the same time.

Beli is bad, for the terrible cookie-cutter homes (seriously, LL, colab with someone who makes a decent house. Get more options, for lower LI, with texturing that doesn't make me flinch) and excessively restictive covenant on what can be added to them, but it is good for at least informing people who live there that you can have your private space without being antagonistic to everyone that passes by.
I do not share your assessment of Bellisseria. I think that it has some incredibly scenic/beautiful neighborhoods. And yes, you are limited to the houses in the rezzer but most themes have many houses to choose from, then you can color the exterior, buy additions to customize it further, etc...
It is true that there are some neighborhoods/themes that dont appeal to me. But with 14 different themes, there is a lot to choose from, and I personally like most of them.

Not really related to your post topic, but I just noticed your profile picture (the little circle to the left of your post with your picture). Is it new? it looks really nice!

I have been struggling lately to figure out what my favorite Belli theme is. And I found that a very difficult question.
For example, take the Victorians. They have the most beautiful landscaping... the flowers, the willow trees, the scenic lakes and streams.
Or the Houseboats, especially after the new styles release. They are right on the water, and I love water. They are well laid out and it is so nice to sit in your living room and watch the waves. It is also very easy to go sailing or jet skiing or boating from your own "yard."
Or the Trads with some of the stunning custom neighborhoods, the quaint street lights, the smaller and easier to furnish houses...
Or the Sakuras, with their beautiful waterways and amazing scenery.
Then it occurred to me... One of the things I love about Bellisseria is that it offers such a wide variety of really nice neighborhoods and house styles. I love that it is hard to choose a favorite theme because there are so many nice ones to choose from.

Personally I dont use ban lines or orbs on my mainland or Bellisseria homes... and people can fly over them, boat though my water ways, etc. But that is MY choice.
If another mainland land owner chooses to close their property to others that is THEIR choice.
But yes, there is a flyzone you can use. It is over Bellsseria (which is a very large continent to fly around on). That is between 400 M and 2000M elevation... orbs are not allowed at that elevation range. At other elevations, orbs must give a 15 second warning before ejecting people and a fast moving airplane should clear a 32x32 parcel in less than 15 seconds.

(Just a reminder.. the theme of this thread is intended to be things we like/love about Bellisseria. I know it is SO easy to wander into other topics, especially when someone posts something that reminds us of them. But please try to stick to the topic on this thread.)
And expanding on what Malayaa just said.. I totally agree with her. I also love how easy it is to change houses when they dont feel 'quite right;. Similarly, sometimes I start out loving a place. but after a while I get tired of it and want to move on to a new one. It is really nice how easy it is to do that.

I'm not sure there is much to demand. 😁 P+ already has their 2048sqm parcel tier allotment that can be used right now, that is what is included with the subscription. The house in a Linden Homes neighborhood is a (currently unavailable) option offered in parallel. You can have one or the other, but not both. 😉
I think the "too much demand" was a bunch of people submitting tickets at the same time for the 2048 homes when they are first released as opposed to assuming there would not be enough homes for all PP members....
e.g, too much demand on the "request a home" service if we are allowed to specify a specific 2048 home when they first come out...

Personally I am not in a hurry for Premium Plus 2048 homes. I love my houseboat and love my neighbors and am not yet sure I want to give it up for a 2048 house.. I would have to see the houses before I decide.
However, I am wondering at the logistics of the 2048 homes. I hope that they are only available through a land page of some form. Can you imagine the mess if all the PP members could request a PP location when they are released?? First come first served, I guess... but if we all ask at once, it could take days to find out if we got our request or not.

One of the Lindens mentioned that they are seeing a lot of complaints and negativity on the forums about Bellisseria. So I thought it would be FUN to have a thread where we ONLY give positive feedback about Bellisseria. Sure, there are valid complaints or concerns, but please keep them on one of the other threads -- for this thread, please post only things you like or love about Bellisseria.
Offhand I could think dozens and dozens of things I like or love about Bellisseria, but for this post I will limit myself to only 5:
1) I love the new houseboats! They combine the best parts of the stilts with the best parts of the houseboats and I particularly love the Dock Holiday one. I also love how they have been doing the new houseboat regions with all of those beautiful plants and trees and grass and stuff near the boats.
2) I love the beautiful mole landscaping in so many of the regions and styles. I especially love the vic neighborhoods, especially the coastal ones and the Trad neighborhoods near the lakes and streams.
3) I love some of the cute little things the moles throw in for us to find when I am out exploring. For example, there is a very cute Hipster Trap located in the park-like areas just outside of the Newbrook community center (and pictured below). There is a balloon ride located along the river in the Chalet area. There are dinosaur bones located along one of the railroad tracks. There are 3-eyed mutant fish in Permaglow. The list goes on... all sorts of fun thing to find.
4) I love sense of community in Bellisseria. I am so glad that we have a Bellisseria Citizens group to socialize and get to know each other. I love that there is a Bellisseria Entertainers and Events group to let us know about parties and other fun things to do.
5) I love that there are resident volunteers (such as the Bellisseria Bureau of Bureaucrats or BBB) that create fun things for us to do, such as collecting passport stamps or touring some of the beautifully decorated resident homes.
If you have some positive feedback for the moles, lindens or residents who have invested of themselves into Bellisseria, please consider sharing it here in this thread....

Is Premium Worth It???
in General Discussion
Posted · Edited by Teresa Firelight
fix typo
There seems to be confusion between account levels and what they offer:
Each person has to decide what is "worth it" to him/her. For example, if you want to own land, you need one of the non-basic premium accounts. If you want to have a free Linden Home, you need Premium or Premium Plus. If you want to have your own experience, you need premium or premium plus, etc.
For me personally, I need a lot of groups because I am in leadership in multiple areas that each require several groups, plus I own an SL store, etc. Last December I got to the point where 70 groups were not enough for my needs; so Premium Plus became "worth it" to me because I want/need more than 70 groups.
If you dont want or need any of the services that the paid accounts provide, then they are probably not worth it to you and why pay for something you dont need or want. But when you want/need something, then you tend to be more willing to pay for it.
