I can only say I will really miss it, as I have used it to keep in contact with my friends when I cant be online and to share information with our group.....am really dissapointed.....

Hi all, I really hope one of you can help me sort this out... We have on our sim a prim which shows a video on Youtube about our group, for information. This worked fine the last weeks. However, recently I have installed Windows 7 on my machine and ever since the prim does not show the movie, but keeps telling me I need to update flash. Of course so I did, and have the latest flashplayer installed. Still its not showing the clip, and I still get the flash-update message. So does my friend who also uses Windows7. It is possible for me to choose the option to play it in my own browser and then it works fine. (but I want to see it on the prim!). I have tried with my Mac and then I have no issues at all and can just enjoy our clip! When I put a website without flash/movies on a prim, I have no problems. I suspect now this has something to do with Windows 7, but I cannot figure out what or why. Have tried in both Viewer 2.0 and Kirstens S20: no movie on my  windows pc... This is what I use: CPU: AMD (Unknown model) (2399.2 MHz) Memory: 5888 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit  (Build 7600) Graphics Card Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc. Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series Windows Graphics Driver Version: 8.14.0010.0678 OpenGL Version: 2.1.8787 Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Hazideon, My experience is: no reply or confirmation whatsoever. I applied for the Destination Guide as well, a couple of months ago..and only by checking it regularly I found out we were in it...And more odd, they did not use the picture I sent, but apparently went sneaking up one evening and took a photo themselves to use ...haha! A good one though, I have no complaints. So, just keep checking the Destination Guide and you will see? Our sim showed up in there in about 2 weeks after my application. Good luck! Cait

Oh yes! Admitting I was not really amused with the introduction of the new viewer at first ...I have forced myself in getting to live with it, as I do see the great potential of the shared media for our (non profit) group in terms of PR.. hehe.

Hi Irene, Thanks for the link, it was certainly most helpfull as I can now show the movie without the whole 'youtube site', so that made me happy to start with! (the adding of _popup, in the link, great!) I also, relogged and found out now there is a little flag in the browser on top of the prim, indicating its protected to showing only the link I want it to. Will now ask some people that are in viewer 2.0 to test it, and see if they can still surf the web on my prim! (which I can, since its my object apparently) Thanks again! Cait

Hello all, Recently I placed a prim in our Dojo (we are a clan of Katana fighters), with a link to a youtube movie-clip featuring our group. Just some nice pics in a promotional slideshow, like an introduction for visitors and peeps that are interested. This works okay, was pretty easy to set up and the 'new resident' seems to find their way to use it, as most of them enter SL with Viewer 2.0. ( yes, for a lot of non-noob visitors its just a prim..so I have placed a sign explaining what this object shows when you're using the 2.0 ). Anyway, today I met this new resident in our dojo, running around naked. No big deal, new arrivals tend to like that or are unaware (we are in the Destination Guide and have some experience with new arrivals, lol). What annoyed me more was that he managed to play porn-videos on my display, instead of our decent promo-clip! So, I asked him to get dressed and while he was busy looking for his pants I changed the settings, set security on it ( white listed web and stuff) but still the guy found it necessary to show me the '2 girls and a cup' video. And he managed to bring it on the prim. Then I took back the display, rezzed a new one..did the whole thing with security and when I was done....tataa...the (still naked..) guy showed me the porn again. Now, I am not a prude and I have seen worse clips, thats not the issue. What does bother me is that apparently people can surf the web on a prim while it's secured? Besides, our sim is PG/G, so I can imagine it can offend people dropping by and seeing this.. Does anyone has any tips or trick for me on how to ensure showing the youtube-clip I want, instead of all kinds of other stuff? We have 3 clips on Youtube and I thought it would be nice if people could actually browse youtube on my prim and watch the movies about us. FYI: I am in Kirstens Viewer S20, which should not be the point? Feel free to drop by inworld and play with my prim..( em, the shared media-display that is!) and tell me what I forgot! Cait
