  1. I am getting the strong feeling that a lot of people work on "gut" here and not stats. For instance Ziggy, how do you know if you took down your enahancements that your sales would go down? Click-Thru from an advert is not a sale as we all know. The problem with the system, is there is obviously no way to tell if it works like Google Ads. People may click thru, or they may be on search or just happen to see your product. The notation about "exposure" and "branding" makes a lot more sense to me as that seems to be the most one can hope from an enhancement. I agree, that instant results are for dreams, and one should never hope for instant results. The clothing and texture sector though is replete with enhancements, and in the Fashion Forum where I also posted, those who answered said they rarely look at the adverts, and mostly do not pay attention to them. Now this is a very small number of people who answered I grant you, but I find the inablity to judge based on stats, and pure stats, very frustrating. Indeed there is such a wide variance of people who will and will not even buy at the MP, or like me, go to the MP then usually TP to the in-world store. And of course there is no way to track that. 25 enhancements is expensive, no matter how one looks at it, so I assume the MP in your sector is much different than in the clothing sector. But I thank you for your honest and straightforward answer, just not sure how to judge the final conclusion.
  2. Answers are incredibly informative ty all for answering and keep them coming!!! :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:
  3. I am interested to know if you use the MP and in what way to find what you want? Do you rely on friends to tell you where to shop? Do you search for something specific? Do you look at the advertising in the MP? Do you read group notices about new items? What is the impetus to make you "want to go and look" at something? And what is causes you to make your final decision of yay or nay in clothing? Any and all comments on this subject would be welcome. Thank you.
  4. I am interested in any and all comments from Merchants or Purchasers who have had experience with enhancement & advertising in MP. Do they work? Did you find sales increased on a statistical basis? Do you use them constantly or only once every so often or not at all? Any comments on this subject would be welcome. Thank you.
  5. I have at TNC - Totally Naughty Clothes around 25 collections of heels and boots not one of which has prim feet. You are welcome to take a look.
  6. Around 70% of the time when either purchasing or someone purchased an item of mine, it takes at least 45 minutes for it to get delivered, or the status in my Orders is "Being Delivered". Why does this process take so long? It makes customers angry as they think you are listing something that is not available. And please do not tell me it is the Magic Box or the Sim. My Sim is Cat 5 and I own it, and my boxes are the latest version. Why does this process of delivering items take so long?
  7. The problems I jira'd about were fixed. So that is a good thing. But has anyone noticed besides me that anything to do with Inventory, the pages, take much longer to load? Or is that just my perception? I really do not remember the inventory pages taking so long to load.
  8. I kind of have to agree with self-taught theory. I spend a great deal of time helping friends and beginning designers understand the basics. But usually it is specific questions with specific answers. Designers spend a lot more time than you may imagine on collections and even single items. It really is a matter of time. If you don't mind me suggesting something for free...download Paint.net. it is a free GNU program, and I think much better and easier for a new user to grasp than Gimp. That is free. There are some other great tools that are totally free too and in that I will be more than happy to help you. Get a hold of a basic template. A shirt or tank top to begin with. See if it comes with a PSD file as well (paint.net can read PSD files with the correct add-on - also free). Then play around a bit with textures, coloring, graphics, layers. With free temp. uploads this should not cost any money as well. Once you get the hang of it, you will discover a lot of other things you can do and create provided of course you do have a graphic eye. Anyways, good luck on your hunt. I think there is an incredible amount of creativity out there going to waste simply because the first step is the hardest. If I can help with something specific just IM in world.
  9. I am going to chip in my 2 cents based on just personal experience. Do NOT kill me for this. Simple statistics will tell you that most males do not buy or purchase anywhere near as much clothing as females do. Additionally many seem to gravitate to the Tattoos on top Jeans on bottom (or leather pants) and some ugly looking shoes. For some reason they think that in SL all males spend the time taking steroids. In short unless you are designing specifically male clothing, as a designer, I have discovered, it simply is not worth the time or effort to create any type of male clothing, because males simply do not shop or buy. I know I am going to be pounced on for this but IMO from my own stats and experience. Just does not pay to create male clothing and invest all the time and money.
  10. As a designer I am very careful to iterate in an NC either placed in the vendor or available at my collection wall, exactly what comes in each package. Any customer who wishes to see a dress or anything else can ask staff which are available. Sometimes though, due to the various possibilities in items, it is simply impossible to take a picture of all the variations and place them together on a vendor picture. Offering demos of items, sometimes works and sometimes does not. What I always tell my staff and I think any designer will tell you this, is that a lot of time does go into packaging an item. Indeed creating, taking photos, doing the montage, uploading the montage, doing the packaging, putting them into vendors takes a great deal more time than most imagine, espcially if you are doing a collection with varied colors. So some times it is simply not realistic for some of the requests for every item. In all cases, I think most good designers, will gladly offer someone who is interested a free item to try it on, and then leave it up to them to purchase the color they wish etc. and etc. that is simply good business sense (or have staff who can actually wear the item requested so the customer can see it in SL for themselves.) It is always a need to weigh time vs. need when you create a new collection. It simply is a matter of priorities and what the customer needs and wants. However, one thing should never be overlooked in MHO. A detailed notecard should always be available for the item and what exactly is inside and how to wear it, unless of course it is just a top or such. My 2 cents on the matter Random Sixpence (Tara)
  11. As a merchant I can categorically say that since the last update the delivery of products based upon the lapse in time i get from a notification that something has been ordered to the time it shows on the web site as Delivered is much longer. This seems to be yet another problem caused by the "update". Customers seem to be waiting between 30-60 minutes for a product whereas before it was within 5 minutes or less. I can only assume this has to do with the update and they say they are trying to fix these problems. With updates like this, well.. the rest of that statement is kind of cliche. Let us hope they fix this within a couple of days.
  12. And these next 2 show items 24 hours appearing both in Listed & Unlisted though they are in the store. With hundreds of items it becomes next to impossible to manage these lists.
  13. thanks i did a jira on it...seems that their index is a total mess https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-4150
  14. Any other merchants having a problem with items suddenly showing up in Unavailable & The Listed column and indeed they are available? OR adding Unlisted items, having them appear in your store, and Listed yet still remain in the Unlisted columns as well? Something is wrong with the Index on the MP or something got really messed up with the last update. Does anyone know if a jira was filed?
  15. I rarely if ever post in the Forums. But this time I think it is appropriate. I have no clue what you did with that new update but back in days when I worked in high tech, I think I would have been tempted to fire every single one of the staff that coded and tested this update. This is absolutely horrendous and the team should be ashamed. 1. I suddenly have Unavailable items which even with resets will not become available, where they always were. 2. The "omission" of reporting in transactions is absolutely unforgivable. 3. The Double Listing cause of an Index problem in 3 days has not been taken care of. (Unless you are Google your index does not take 3 days to update. Feed that to the people who know nothing about technology.) I don't understand what sort of QA LL uses, but that is your internal problem. Though I have a few thousand items listed in the MP I always sat back and waited and was patient with changes and mistakes and months of waiting for fixes that still have not been done. But that is they way you run the MP so hey, who am I to tell you different? BUT when you make an upgrade and manage to screw up so many things at once, either your QA was all drunk or on meds when they tested it, or probably NO ONE really tested it in a viable test environment. It would be incredibly nice to get these problems fixed BEFORE you move on to your next stages. And there is absolutely no reason in the world why it should take days and weeks to see the fixes to the changes to the changes to the changes to the changes (that is not a mistype) that the team running this has made. Does anyone in LL on the BOD or a CTO have any responsibility? Or is this just a fly-by-the-pants operation, where someone says "Hey, that would be cool" and you code it without testing it? This "update" has turned me from patient to cynical. I can now actually understand what has so many people blowing off so much steam. You should be ashamed. Your whole team should be ashamed. Just plain sad and pathetic. That is all that it is. Sad and pathetic. You managed to turn me into a cynic about all this. Touche!
  16. Event is posted and shows up in SL Search. But when I view the Web Page, i don't see it. Does this have anything to do with the Maturity settings? If the Sim is "M" it wont show on the web page but will show in search? It is baffling me!

  19. I second that. On this issue I have a support ticket open from June, still listed as "New" with numerous comments to take care of it. Just gets ignored. Does this mean we wont be waiting a half year or more to get problems caused by SL in the first place to be answered?
