  1. Well so what? I had sex with him afterwards. Actually that's a complete lie. I just can't take being outdone!
  2. Love your new sig val! I read that book and really enjoyed it. There is a suburb of Nairobi called Karen, named for her.
  3. Ahhh.... The Chain. Anyone whose hubby watched Formula 1 on the Beeb knows that one well.
  4. Gonna make you jealous Dres. I saw Cat Stevens in a tiny venue, the Floral Hall, Southport in the early seventies. Great stuff! And my son saw him at the Rally for Sanity in Washington last year.
  5. /me stands beside Dillon nodding my head vigorously Well said!
  6. Hippie, You and LadySue are very much in my thoughts right now. A biiiiig hug from me.
  7. Oh Dillon, you must be so glad you're not typing utter nonsense any more!
  8. I so agree with you Dee. Well said! I realised I made one post too many on this topic, and fortunately it was ignored. I'd like to apologise to Hippie for being so negative. Let's sit back and enjoy Keli's poster. Much more in spirit with Hippiestock.
  9. So sorry to hear that Hippie. My thoughts go to LadySue and to her family.
  10. Celestiall Nightfire wrote: How so? The entire time that HS1 was being promoted in the old GD forum, I never once mentioned it, never discussed it, or tried to rain on anyone's parade. My comment here was directed to Hippy, as an explanation for why I did not attend. He seemed to welcome honest commentary. So, I gave mine. My comments are not negative regarding HS1...or the actual event. I pointed out why I had no interest in going. I notice that you're not saying anything to Hippy about using words like "soured the soup"..Because it was his very accurate description that promoted me to tell how I felt. Celestial, my response was not meant as an attack on you, although you seem to be seeing it that way. If you feel I've criticised you in any way then I apologise I appreciate your comments were directed to Hippie, but you posted them on an open forum, so I felt perfectly comfortable responding to them. Hippie knows how I feel on the subject. Celestiall Nightfire wrote: Oh, good grief. I didn't miss anything....because I could have attended...but I chose not to. My choice. Your analogy is waaaaay off. Excuse me but you did miss something. An event in which not a single bad word, or criticism, or personal abuse happened. Just a bunch of people, 98% of whom you would have welcomed, having a really fun time. So I think my analogy is spot on. You missed seeing nearly 70 happy, fun-loving friends because 1 person you dislike was there. And your response about the awful person on the plane was way off, because it suggests that that person would have harassed you at the party, and there was not the slightest sign of harassment by anyone to anyone. I can't persuade you to come to Hippiestock12, but you will be making a big mistake if you don't.
  11. I think you are being rather negative Celestial. I know there are those who dislike that person, but missing some real fun like Hippiestock is rather like cutting off your nose to spite your face.
  12. Perrie, thanks for writing this. I was thinking you were being very negative, but you're not, and I'm really sorry you felt ignored. In fact quite a few people did say hi to you (although I have to admit I didn't). The problem was that, with all those people talking, a conversation was almost impossible. Yes, you could have IMed, but for me, that would have been a distraction, as I was just enjoying all the noise around me. I did notice that you expressed your appreciation for the acts, and I admire you for that. The music was so cool, and I too tried to let them know how much i was enjoying it. Please give it a second chance. I too am of hippy generation and was known to wear flowers in my hair and smoke cetain substances. Whatever your decision, remember that most people at Hippiestock were nice, friendly people, and Hippie, Suspiria and many others worked extremely hard to make it a happy occasion, for which both are to be thanked.

LOL! Hugs Lia! Peace! He was very sweet, and very friendly and behaved impeccably. Gave me my first spaceship ride and my first space station dance.
  14. Hey Hippie, I was on your site tonight. I must have missed you but a lovely guy called Chazlo took me up in his spaceship and we danced together in th space station. Cool evening, but I missed you.
  15. I really think you completely missed the point of Hippiestock. Yes some of us argue and fight in the forums, but everyone who I've met in-world from the forums has been pleasant and friendly. And Hippiestock was a confirmation of that. A bunch of people with different opinions but a similar lifestyle getting together and having some fun. I have had lots of quite fierce arguments with people on these forums, many of whose opinions, whether religious, national or political are completely at odds with mine. Almost never, though, have those arguments come anywhere near hatred or abuse. just sensible people voicing their opinions, then listening to the reply they get. So Hippiestock was an opportunity to meet with those people and dance and chat. A really life enhancing opportunity.
  16. Well said Melita. My heart goes out to those people. I want to yell and shout about that man, but this is not the time. This is the time for quiet thought about those who have been taken from their loved ones so pointlessly. A friend pointed out that the man or woman who might have found a cure for cancer, or written a brilliant play or book, or composed some wonderful music may be among those wasted lives. But even if they became the person who cleared the trash, they were important and mattered a lot. /me wi[pes away a tear.
  17. Hi everyone. Back in NH again, but nice on-time flight and easy drive up here, so no prob. Horrible news this wekend. Why can't we all be more tolerant? I can't pray (beware I'm an atheist, so I'm evil) but my heart goes out to those poor families. Sorry to be depressing, but I had to say something. Tears from me, but hugs to all.
  18. Hiya val. Hiya Hippie, Dee and all. Have a great weekend. Val, I wanna join your club. Looks like my kind of thing!!! And I still can't post pictures. GRRRRR!
  19. I like that kind of math, Dee. Of course you're spot on. Darn this growing nose! Party looks like fun.
  20. Wow! Two Africans together, val! I was on the other side, in Kenya. Lived there frome age 2 to 22. Now been in the US just over 10 years. I must have itchy feet!
