Cato Badger wrote: @Wildcat: As a friend of mine has previously pointed out, a picture might be worth a thousand words, but they are usually kindergarten standard, incorrectly spelled, jumbled up in sentences that make no sense and in a language that few comprehend. I don't agree with you at all, what is 'kindergarten standard' to you? I prefer visualization over text writing and enjoy watching pictures posted by different residents here *meows*

  10. SimonLeo Roelofs wrote: Hello, I would like to suggest next to the other languages we also have a Dutch language board. There are very many Dutch and Belgium people in SL and I think we would greatly benefit from such a board. Name: Belgisch/Nederlands forum Do you agree? I say yes ... because I love Belgian Beer .... *meows*

  16. kryptic Zarco wrote: As for DJing with a mic, Personally I like where the DJ doesnt talk and fill up the stream with cluttered sound that isnt the music, So a nice 15 or 20 min interval, And say the song you did prior and then 3 or 4 songs upcoming. Most SL DJ's talk every song or every other song it gets quite fustrating to hear voices over favorite songs.... Just a helpful hint for when you do use your mic more. Cheers, KZ for house techno and other electronic music I prefer that the DJ focusses on DJ'ing and not disturbing my state of trance by telling his life stories or which tracks he plays. But I have no problems when a DJ talks in an 80's party. Think that overall DJ voicing depends on the music genre *meows*
  17. If I am not clubbing or shopping, I am working on my own mainland sim, developing temporary projects for myself or projects just to show other residents ideas about the capabilities within second life. Projects can be sim sized or just developing the ultimate house-furniture setting for a 512 sqm lot with 117 prims. It is fun to do and I just love it! I also tend to buy alot of builts from designers random second life and when 'modifyable', trying to improve the original design. My most favorite entertainment is interior decoration, some really nice furniture available, bringing the right pieces together can give an enriching experience. *meows*

  19. The most important things to do before u want to jump into the job market is; like Venus quoted TO CHILL first to learn basic second life skills to explore the grid to join communities to choose your future lifeform to upgrade your basic avatar *meows*

  21. Here’s a simple description of how SL friendship works for me: 1/ Any resident can invite me for friendship 2/ I can accept or reject the invite (or just ignore) 3/ The friendship is only active once accepted 4/ A silent or boring friendship = U get poofed 5/ Real friends stay for life ;o) *meows*
  22. Locke Nider wrote: I had a buddy whom I met in SL months ago, and he stopped logging in sometime ago. I don't expect people to stay in SL forever, but he left no notice or anything, and he doesn't even answer his emails anymore. Obviously, this isn't like him, because he usually tells me if he's going to be offline for a while. I have no RL info on him other than his home city. I just get the feeling something bad happened to him in RL. This sucks, because we were like BEST friends, and I'm pretty sure I'm never going to see him again. sigh Has this scenario happened to anyone else here? Ofcourse, I think everyone has experienced this and who didn't will experience it sooner or later. I never go down the real life route with sl friends because it is so easy to disappear here forever. It doesn't affect me if someone leaves, I find it a pity ofcourse, but I keep anyhow an old forum quote by Pep in my mind (think it was used in another context) : "I forgive, then I forget" *meows*
  23. Prokofy Neva wrote: Don't you wish Linden Lab would offer a friend-reaching service? i.e. when someone doesn't log on for awhile, that you could file a ticket, and LL would contact them using the email they supplied when signing up (which you might not know -- and rightly so, people shouldn't give out their real emails to strangers on the Internet). Sometimes I get tenants who tell me they are dying in real life -- I'm never sure if it's true, but I think possibly it is in some cases. I sometimes have tenants with partners, they live with them for years, and all of a sudden one will dump the other and not explain and just disappear, and that person left behind suffers terribly -- they wish they could at least get an email confirmation the person is OK, but just not wishing contact. Once I had this couple who rented from me for years, they led a robust and creative life with creations, stores, events, lovely interior decorating, and one day suddenly both of them disappeared at the same time, never to be heard of again. I think of them as somehow, perhaps they drove off into the sunset and fell off a cliff, like the tragic RL couple that formed the basis for the song "The Way" by Fastball. Of course, this should be an opt-in. For example, it could be a service you pay for "add friend-reaching". The Lindens could automate it so that they didn't have to fuss with it. Of course, some people set IMs to go to email, and if you do that, IMs really shouldn't cap (and they don't, despite what many say). And that should be good enough, but some people might supply a different email for the "friend notification service". When I click the red X box from my viewer second life ends ..... *meows*
