  1. I beleive three is one ready made....I will search the script libraries... Here is one from the old old library forum: http://forums-archive.secondlife.com/15/67/10576/1.html It might still work well enough, not sure. But sound loading can be a bit slow at first, then your cache will grab it and you will have less wait time...well, maybe lol. These days things are snappy and this is a script I heard used way back and it worked alright enough.
  2. I find this interesting, though maybe you are using the phrase "sheet music" in a meta fashion and meaning how your avatar can play this ect. but really you just want to put an mp3 into SL and have it make noise and RP your av is playing it lol. BUT, if you really want sheet music for some peice you might find it online and then print it somehow and make an image small by resizing it and upload it lol. BUT, if your piano accepts "sheet music" then it will most likely be in a notecard and notation will be in text and this will instruct your piano. It is possible to do this, sort of, but I imagine it would be very limited or take a very long time for all the notes to download and play in all of the lengths of sustain ect. and it would sound horrible lol. It is possibly to loop a sound in SL and you could load up some synth generated tiny wav files and then make a notecard reading script ect. SO I thought you might meen this lol. But it sounds like you want to upload a sound. But I thought I would post how funny I thought this was because it IS possible. I think there is a drum machine that does this in SL, but maybe I just thought about making one and looked at a few and never did and forgot if anyone already made one or not.Wow, I waste to much time thinking of ways to make products that are so bad because SL just doesn't exactly support it lol. Ok, moving on..time for something more productive for me!
  3. I assume you are wondering about rights instead of capability. Here is the policy on what is called mechinima: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Snapshot_and_machinima_policy Um, as far as entering competitions or any other thing (mayeb you mean the month of mechinima?) then...well, they will all have thier own rules and you might have to have premium to enter..I am not sure.
  4. First, check you are in a zone that allows flying. Some do not, it is up to lands manager and some stores or areas turn it off. If you are in a fly area then you might want to use the letter keys to initiate flying. On a mac you might be able to use the letter keys e to fly and c to land, also the letters a, s,d,w will allow you to move. BUT, I think there is a option these days to turn the letter keys acting as movement keys on or off and to enable your viewer to only use chat when you press letter keys. This helps some with open area chat as they never use those letter keys for anything else but chat. Save you a click and taking your hands of the keyboard to grab the mouse lol. You can try closing the chat box if it opens when you press the e keys key, but if it opens again when you press it again you must have that chat feature enabled (it might be defualt now, I change so many things from default that I can't remember lol) ...well, I think you might have to hunt down the checkbox because I can't remember it and I am logged into a different OS right now. sorry for that. BUT, you might find it in the preferences options window accesible via the 'Me' menu while in advanced mode.
  5. The story of people betting money on the guy being "the first to put the tiolet seat down" reminds me that people will pay money to go to a music concert and then stand and heckle the guys on stage lol. If you hate the music, why lose hearing going there to get to the front and then flip the guy off and heckle? lol. I mean, they where not wanting it and the band was not seeing as the culture...just one idiot spending more money so he can flip the guy off! Plus, there was a story of a prince, king to be, getting beat up. The guy just wanted to say he kicked the king and was tougher or "harder" then he was one day!! Pathetic, strange and then there is this...well, now they can tell the story to thier grandkids who will look at thier college debts and say "thanks for wasting the money, it is not like we need it" in a very sarcastic tone and also feel like not bothering dropping buy for holiday seasons due to needing to work to pay all their bills off!
  6. Um, maybe you might need to purge the whole SL install and reinstall? I mean, you might have to ask about what folders because I can't remember which one they are lol. But, you uninstall Sl client and then maybe delete some folders that are linked to SL viewer. After that, ge the latest viewer and install it. Are you using a Third Party viewer? Some allow others to control your avatar for many reasons, and this might be the issue. If you don't desire this control then simply install the standard SL version! Now, there is a possabillity your PC is compromised and someone switched your default stand animation. So, I mean...you viewer is calling for a dance animation when it would normally ask for a stand, walk or fidget animation! This is a bit unlikely, but this is sort of all I can think off unless you had never tried a stop all animations device and used the viewers menu functions to stop animations. If you can find the object, maybe you can Mute it? Um, you might want to try turning script beacons on finding all scripted objects and also find info about debug settings. These will maybe lead you to figuring out which device is doing this. It could obviously be a weird bug, so maybe a Jira search will help?
  7. OH, the vehicles thing is an idea that passed through my head a few years back lol. I know it must have passed through anothers, at least one other person and figured someone would do this eventually lol Yeah, this solves the space and costs issue a bit, you can put in way more curves and so on. I really wanted to make little micro racer outfitted avatars with helmets ect. so they are simple. People get an AO with the vehicle OR just build in the little racer into the vehicle and then use a crushing anim and an invis attache on sit. I revisited this thought a few times and this year I sort of forgot about it until I see these micro's! I actually did see the scaled down car thing lol. The made an animation that put the avatars body below the surface and I remember trying it but I don't compete lol. It saves so much space and I do remember another person saying "if you make everything smaller.." type of argument way back..so, yeah, I knew it was a common idea and someone would do it lol. It is a easy way to gain space. I currently only have a tiny av or three. I still never got anims and physics done on tiny versions of my cars and other vehicles I am working on. Rent is so much lower cost when you are a tiny lol. At least to park your vehicles. And they work out geat as the roads are HUGE and you don't hit walls as much! Plus, you can easily find space for rezzing littl tracks...if you make them. Another part of the package I have only an R/C one partially done and never scaled it up for tinies and worked on the rest of the textures....wow, so many forgotten projects this is now reminding me of! But, yeah...totally great idea. Less is more sort of thing lol. I need to figure out how to make that tiny race car with raceguy built into it, it is the shortest path to utilizing space better and squeezing in more turns and better length tracks. Thanks for sharing you pics ect!

If you don't have much for lindens then I will mention the beta grid. More info about Aditi can be found on the second life wiki (which you are obviously now familiar with from the previous link! ) and you will have money there to upload. I am not sure if you have an account on there instantly, it used to be that you had to wait for them to update teh Beta test grid. But these days I think it is different....I could be wrong though. Either way, they dish out like 5000L to upload and test things and it is not at all connected to the main grid where people buy and sell things! It is a clone of a few sims from the main grid and some others for testing. For example, there are Mesh import test grids there for the Open Beta on Collada file imports into SL. So, you will can load stuff and test it BUT it will not be on the main area where everyone is at that has all of the sims running. BUT, it saves a ton of money AND you can have fun and maybe even submit a few bug finds as you play with your creations! If you are artistic...well, you will most likely be going alright IF you can get a little bit marketing down or work with/for those who do. As far as jobs to get main grid uploading money...um, you might be able to sign up to be a photographer at a studio. I saw one hiring recently, but don't remember teh name and I never applied. You photoshop the images offline and load them. But maybe first few lindens might be from that cone hopping thing, a college survey (look in the employment section or wanted section here on the forums) and competitions in world. If you are creative then a speed build might work out to gain you some L's! Hone you speedy building skills and knowledge of prims capabilities and if you place even 3rd and you might win 50L. They have a topic, prim limit and some other rules...um, then you build and try to wow the judges! These are advertised in the Events tabs I think. I know Fermi sandbox used to have some (I placed 3rd way back in one of their speed builds) and 50L's is a few textures worth of upload fees and if you are frugal and savy (learn the texture offset thing and you can combine 2+ textures on one single image and then roll them on each face of your objects, for example) and you will have some lindens left for server rental. I know serverrental palces are about 5L or so for 2-3 prims, but it varies. You can even find people who help people for free, they like the traffic or are making reinds with potential customers because they sell items that are used to create finished products or to help people run stores ect. Not sure who is doing this these days though, so you might want to use the Wanted forums right here at the forums. Oh, the server rental is for marketplace.secondlife.com, the least costly way to get items listed and sold. This is mostly a search place, people do browse BUT you can imagine there are so many items mostly people use search words. Um, I know there is a tonne more stuff. But this is just a few quick thoughts I am putting up here since I am bothering to mention aditi and such. You can find so much on the wiki, here at the specific forums and such! So, you are always going to be able to ask here I guess and I am sleepy lol. Plus, I am not so successful....but I mean, I make linden dollars enough to keep my biz here a live and make a small amount profit (Imean, like 1-3 USD$ a month lol...yeah, that little) uh...ok, bye and have fun!
  9. Corporate Espionage exists. But why would he risk jail telling you, or risk his contact? To be honest....if he had that access he could find out stats and use them to work up a great amount of info to enable him to figure out how much and maybe how exactly he should go about marketing a virtual world....this might really work out, considering OpenSim is a FREE sofware and all he needs to do is get hosting worked ect. And if he had enough money to offer someone to spy and give him data....wow, he would then have enough to also get started in this OR just move on. But love does strange things, and he might know he will not get cought as he lives in another country other than the US and used proper ways to conceal...or at least he thinks he did. I mean, all communications lines going over the sea most likely have CIA and other foreign agnecy taps on them. YOu spy on a US company as big as SL and you might be very much be on thier radar! But, this stuff happens and is hard to prove...I mean, how does a company present evidence to a foreighn government when that agancy might have broke the laws of that country to gain the intel? Why would they risk talking to LL in a way that lets them use the talk as evidence? I mean, in many cases you see it happen and it is findable by independent companies and no CIA needed lol. But, I mean...this is all not even a interest of mine and I am way way out of my leugue to speak on this. But yeah, I sort of think it might be BS...but you never know because he might not be telling all about how he did it! One simple way was the Redzone thing. They where checking who had similar accounts someway, and also looking for hints at others you might have hidden better (hence the big threat over wrong passwords collected) your location but slip up in other ways. I have no clue about all this stuff, I just hear about it and am a tiny bit of a spy movie/TV show fan...but I am very choosy, so not a outright spy movie/tv show fan....many are not interesting enough or fun enough. I mean, the whole TV episode I saw with the fake ID thing and body doubles and black mail...not as interesting as the one with sci fi weridness and a long running story line that is total fantasy! The body double thing and faking video? Well, they check for fake stuff in Bin Laden Vids for a reason! It is possible and not many can tell...sort of boring and also scary....anway, what was I doing? Ah, ok...bye.
  10. Mod cars? Drag racing has a few sims with classes and these have uper speed limits, body style limits and so on. This is simple enough racing in SL, you wait for the lights and slam the forward button lol. They even use auto align, so no role play in lining up ect. It is a quick few button clicks and the car is aligned and ready to wait for you forward key interaction. I like road type racing myself, though (as mentioned) I rarely race people (even in a "non official" way) and you will see only a few of these a year. There is No Control Speedway maybe. I think they did one or two. Um, most you use thier car. You have to consider that the buy in goes toward winnings and so on. Plus, there is the cheatfactor. Many methods of cheating can be detected, so it is silly to bother I guess....but you never know what will happen and there might even be ways of cheating that are not script related at all and work with normal racing. I have heard of limits to even things out between the privilaged and not so privilaged...but many dislike this and I bet some even think it is almost like gambling as you have no control over anything and if there is randomness happening with the controls...well, you might feel cheated. I remember there was drag boat racing, hydro type boat racing and maybe a few others I can't remember...um, I don't know of any at present. Maybe sailing is still going on these days. Planes...wow, I heard of one and they stopped I think. Um, so not sure. There is Sim board racing going on...not sure if they have already left ads here. Um, there was a sci fi gravity hovering type thingy racing...don't know what happened with that though. Gant Snails race across mainland. Obviously, they need to be snails to get across sim crossings lol! I do remember there was a joke fun rally...sort of like the Gumball rally deal...kind of fun as you end up crashing at sim crossings. This was a yearly event....don't know if it still occurs. Um, wow.....you can always race with a buddy and make vehicles for that and buy a race gate and cones ect. lol. I have researched a few types of racing and even started working up lists, features and game dynamics...but to be honest...it is hard to run a sim and costs a lot! So, if you think about it you can see why many want you to buy thier official cars lol. BUT, drag racing many times has class races you can buy many cars from the open market or make your own and script it!
  11. I have seen some vids of this, it is neato. But, now mesh is here....well, it could be a time saver for SL. I know there are artifacts and glitches and obvious issues whenever you convert or change something to do with such a complex object as a 3D object scan. I have several questions! Does anyone have any predictions, thoughts of even experiences with this and how it might all work out for workflow? I figure, prep object, scan, seperate bits, decimate a bit or work on smoothing and otherwise reducing polygons, work on mats and remodelling, finally work on materials and textures, decimate a copy for test upload, export and test the Collada file. This seems like the general workflow. But, am I missing something? Does anyone think it is worth what it costs for the gear if you primarily wish to use it mostly for SL? Thanks for any response or replay that is on topic!
  12. My own opinion here, and for the 'tl;dr' in all of us: Blender will do this and has the most tutorials and helpers for a SLer and also will prepare you for any conversions, texture work or COLLADA file tweakign you migvht do in the future if you hate blender and use another tool set. BUT no workman should limit himself to one brand of tool set if the workflow and customer benifits from more than one...even if YOU are the only customer! Having said that, here are a few more methods and tools I have heard of or seen in use and/or the results of their use: I remembered that you mentioned "popular" and figure that this is worth mentioning. Photoshop is used, by some, for lighting/baking. Also, sometimes people hand paint shade on and I have done this myself instead of tweaking the shadow settings and moving lights around. I simply put the texture into Gimp and selected an area and used a gradient tool and then guasion blur to soften it all out. Some also use Deep Paint, I think. This is just for texgtures, and mostly for hand painting and cloning from a render or a photo. There are other progs for 3d model texture painting as well, some of which might work well and be used by people who just keep it a secret! Photoshop is very popular though and I do know it does have a baking feature. Also, I forgot Shade. It is a 3D tool. This one is more popular with Japanese users as it was only avilable in japanese for one version. But now the latest one is in English and also available in a few versions. Though I can't remember the price. But more or less...um, yeah it has sculpt export built in and they support other virtual world and also some 3D studio type applications with a store for thier creators to list in ect. So, they are sort of into the virtual environment market more so than many 3D applications which tend to maybe be into visualization or animation software as a focus. I know my post is lengthly, but these are ones I have heard of in use. I like the tags idea as well, from Gaiga. But I always luagh becuase....well, if it worked well and had a good help file or forum for the product at the makers site...why ask here? I think many would solve thier issues via help or software specific forums. You see some of the stuff here because people who learned about them here come back here for support. But I see very little talk of Shade, though I see it in use and you see a classic example of culture, help files and other-forum-help as a reason, not really popularity or usefullness. I am not saying Shade is as popular as Blender or 3DS. But, it is in use and succesfully so. This seems to also happen on almost any set of forums that have different tools. You might see some pro's at one forum use tool X and there is none better, while another says tool Y is the way to go and yet another has a few advocates of tool Z and each person who agrees and uses each one goes back to the one with the most help...I mean, usually. Sometimes though, you have people going back to get help because it might be the only forum they remember, they found the password for this other one or many many different reasons. But, overall you can sometimes see this type of thing. Here, blender has a strong advocacy from Gaia and a few others, Maya has help from Chosen(ok, maybe I have him mixed up with another...but you will see him/her here helping with Maya questions) and there is also a few others that use other things and will often come to someones aid with info and tips. Which brings me back to the "popular" bit. Photoshop can bake textures for sculpts with it's 3D support. So, this is an option that many don't think of. But skin makers sometimes use it, as well as people who use in world sculptie tools or others. They know photoshop and it works faster, so this is their route. I have seen tutorials, so I know this exists. I like blender, it has an amazing array of tools. I am not so much help though, I tend to ramble in a to much chit chatty style. Which brings me to remembering to stop right now!
  13. Um, you mean use SL to make a stop motion via moving prims and also avatars? Well, assuming that is what you wish to do...well, there are some posing tools for in world that move lims bit by bit to make a pose via exporting text to place into a txt file and change the extension to .bvh from .txt! Maybe one of these might work for that. SL is also bringing out pupeteering....not sure what it is other than you will be able to pose your own avatar. But, maybe they changed directions and are not working on it for the viewer?
  14. Um, if you check the preferences hardware settings it could have turned on Anisostropic filtering or Vertex buffers ect. and your card might not like them. I think also, for a newer card, they say that Vertex Buffering makes it run faster....so, maybe it is the opposite and you need to turn some things on! Ctrl+p and then to the graphics tab. Another thing might be the automatic downloads they have these last few versions. You can find them in the advanced or other tab. Otherwise, you have me stumped other than hardware issues or maybe an anti-virus software interfering with the newer code?
  15. Um, maybe there is some kind of trick to make two copies and work on one then somehow swap it to the other? I will explain one way to work around it in blender, BUT this is maybe also in 3DS..um, projection painting? You make one model that is the way you want to make it, texture mapped how you want it and then make renders from different angles (orthoganal camera settings might be preffered fro some shots or all) and then you get a "from view" UV map. Wierd, but then you basically clone paint the images onto your sculpt that you set up to accept this brush and also have shaped to mimic the general shape of you 'normal' poly build. There are so many details and I have no clue if you can set up your textures to do this (I dont' know if you have a UV map from view option) Well, projection painting is what I have heard it called in a tutorial for blender. Maybe 3DS has an equivelent technique or feature? That is all I have. You sort of have to make 2 models in blender, and I can't imagine how you could work it anyother way. So I imagine there is a similar thing in 3DS and thought it worth exlaining.
  16. Um, blender does this stuff. I do know it does this stuff. The few below, I am not sure of and don't use them. But, I do know people use all three in SL and they have sculpt support, some kind of texture support and the rest is a mystery to me.I know some hate the learnign curve of 2.49 version, but at present that is the fullest working blender version and you will still have similar buttons and tools in 2.57 when it is all brought up to date for sculpts. They are doing a 2 month iteration for blender and there are still things missing with scripting in 2.57, so far. In 2 months they might have it all together and start new features, but I dont' keep up with thier development any more than check the news at a few blender websites. I don't participate or peak through the code and such either. But, 2.49 is the best bet for sculpties right now. Look up projection painting and maybe remember to switch on AO to get an Ambeint Occlusion map baked ect. You will see thes tipes around the web, but thought it might be worth mentioning. BUT, once again, back to the topic. There are a few others. I will quickly type up a little I know about them...which isn't much lol. ;P Maya can do many more thing and is used heavily in the biz for movies and other 3dCG animation. 3DS max does this stuff as well. AC3D does many things, although I am not sure of the textures. But It has changed since when I tried it a few years back. They have more texture and rendering pug-ins and features...but I really don't know much about them. I do remember seeing a lighted texture bake...but maybe this was not for a sculpt or the sculpt map plug-in is just not compatible with that plug-in for rendering textures or baking? I have now clue, for all I know I saw builds with baked textures form it today...I just don't know. But, it is a starting point to finding out as I know thier forums have a few SL topics in them! Hexagon has suport for sculpts. But, once again...lighting and shadow baking (or ambient occlusion, global lighting, radience...wow, there is a whole set of little buttons in blender and I bet 3DS to!) is something I don't know about. Now, I think Softimage had a softare....XSI? It is now owned by Autodesk....but I can't remember the name. It is more or less for games and I am betting it has some texture support and also it has a sulpt plug-in. It is far less popular I bet, so I didn't find much info on it years back. The one they list in the SL wiki is different and non-commercial only now. But, I mean...you need to see all of the specifics for you and your position ect. I mean, some software is illegal in some countries ect. and who knows what other oddities are in those licenses that might upset some people! I think Cinima 4D has a sculpt plug-in to. But textures..wow, I should know this as I looked into it. But I want to say "no" on the painting....but I really can't remember lol. Um, there is also the tools from the maker of Rokuru, the sort of famous simple sculptie maker. He has a few tools that are pay for, but he used to sell them for Linden Dollars In world! So, this might be a very quick way to get a tool that allows you to model and paint...but you know, I am not sure of the shadows and light. Zbrush is one that works well for sculpts that are more organic (what sculpt maps are best for really)....well, not sure about the lighting...but I think it does. I know I am missing a few....um, there is one called Curvey...I think. The guy put support in last year, if my memory serves me. It was pretty neat, but I never spent enough time. Um, it is pretty quick when you get to know it and it is not as slow to learn as blender. I thought some tools had a bit learning curve to figure out how to get them to not mess your work a bit....um, like you need to learn thier boundaries and how they effect edges ect. But, that is the same for any program. If you learn one, the other always seems a bit odd and you scratch your head now and then wondering what is the best angle, brush settings etc. I seem to remember it did shadow maps..but I dont' know about painting, but I never did any texture work at all and just focused on the modelling tools. I planned on using materials and baking in blender becuase I learned it and was using materials I found at the materials library for blender (also, already making a few of my own) ect. For more of a inclusive list and maybe some of these softwares have great forums to help you on the specifics youw ish to know about each? Anyway, here is a larger list. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Sculpted_Prims:_3d_Software_Guide
  17. Not only that, but the mouth owner in the "word of mouth" phrase (freind, review on blog, or random person you edit the goods of) might really have been influenced. Maybe you are influenced by this person, some things are hard to quantify as "good" or "bad", so you point here is actually deeper when you explore it. I mean, we do not get to know something exists sometimes unless via word of mouth or seeing it in use somewhere. Advertising is easy to avoid and we can fly around and explore with no need for directions. A quick LM from a freind or a profile view from a edited object and we can be in another place. No need to keep up with trends in magazines, no worry about failing products hurting us and the items don't cost hundreds or thousands, so non need for consumer watchdog style reviews in magazines and newspapers.
  18. Sometimes there are freemarkets in world. But to be honest, I didn't see many using up all the space and since it is free...well, I guess many gave up as sales where low and you have no in world search. I mean, the marketplace is one place. But a longer answer could include classifieds and a small plot somewhere, a rental spot and use places search turned on (30L a week) or even simply advertising on online marketplaces. You might find others, I think there are at least 2-3 more online markets. But I can't remember their names. Marketplace.secondlife.com is the most busy one I bet. But there is also maybe groups AND if there is not a group you can always make one. Then people can find it and you can allow people to make sales announcements. The wiki can help you on this I bet. I am not saying it works, just that it is as creative of an idea I can think of that is not usually mentioned. You can use the group and hold a meeting at some land where you have worked a deal. You can pay a fee, or possibly meet at a linden place and announce it in your group. There are also events listings, which require a location. You can possibly find a location via a wanted ad on the forums. Once again, maybe I am silly with this and just thinking creatively (though badly and I am sort of dry of creativity tonight ) um....but yeah, there are a few ways. The lowest cost is marketplace.secondlife.com and then find a low cost server rental place to rent a prim or three to place the server down. I guess there is also auction sites for pets and breadables? Not sure, but heard of these. I have not used this method. NCI might have low cost or free spots to help new people...maybe ask them about that though, I have not been there and only remember they had rentals.
  19. I got a virus pop up once. It was a false positive on an image file! Very odd, I used the help menu and contacted SL support. SL support contacted the anti-virus company and they figured out it was a false positive and I got an email from them to explain. I think the anti-virus could crash people, that is why some installers for software say turn it all off.I don't know though, this is something they can check to send in to LL via the crash reporting feature. When it boots up and asks if you want to send data, tell them to say "yes" or "Ok" and maybe that will help without the trouble of contacting support ect. Maybe tell them to send something into support and ask if there is a virus at the location and tell the message thier antivirus is giving them. This will maybe lead to them solving this and your land will not crash them if it is simply the anti-virus not playing nice with the SL Veiwer.
  20. As mentioned, you can wear it (and attache any attachments that are part of it) and take a snapshot or screenshot. Then use the pen/bezier,select tool to outline the are and cut the shirt out. If you enable transparent then you can easily put this over any background image you want. I thin the pen, bezier or cut out tool is usually what it is called in most 2d graphics programs. I reccomend one with curves/dezier or whatever. This makes lines with little handles you can pull and adjust the curve. Looking up a tutorial on that tool is best, it is not easy to explain but easy to see in a video. I mean, I assume you might not know this tool and hence the question.
  21. Um, I am not sure of what happened but usually a resend is no trouble for a merchant. I mean, isn't it like just a few clicks to redeliver? But, there might not be a record of the transaction. This is another issue, in this case maybe you can contact LL or look or a Jira entry for non delivering marketplace purchases. I mean, I don't know for sure if there is one, but you can always check. To figure out Jiras, I recomend the Wiki and anything you find in video from from Torley. On a side note, I was just pondering how odd it is..not many people make star ratings these days. So, You might have a point about the astroturfing sort of effort...but then again, this is so hard to find out and in some respects always a fear. I mean, it could simply be mystery shopping services. They ask them to shop and try the service....obviously, this leads to astro turfing as you know the mystery shoppers do not have much of a flock to run with to hide lol. I mean, many products sit for years and get only 2-3 stars. They might sell several times, but only have 1-2 reviews lol. These days, less people review stuff or star things....but maybe it is just me that is seeing this due to my own experience? I don't have any data or measurements, but they might have used a mystery shopping service. I don't use one myself, I guess I am a bit harsh and am sort of wanting to get legit numbers to learn more about business and sales here. It would skew my resultant experience as a "normal" business person. But when you think about it, a mystery shopper is hard to mask and it becomes obvious they didn't star. So, unless instructed they might star to sort of get hired again? I don't know, I am not a mystery shopper nor have I spoke to any. I have heard of something similar in world though.
  22. This is a fun program, I don't wish to dig for some things to upload right now and one image is no where neer a way to explain this program. it is sort of simple and basically it makes a mess! Well, actually it doesn't BUT it excels at making a mess though! Good messyness and the next step is to see things in it OR you can simply start to draw shapes to form what you wish to see and get some sort of random lines. I feel as it it lends itself more to organic things or lines. BUT, the scale at which you are drawing/splurting/morphing/otherwise creating forms can influence what you can use it for. You can also simply use a simple line and the mirror modifier to quickly draw up shapes with mirrored lines of symetry, up to two. Has anyone used this? Any thoughts or tips? I learned that the mirror features is pretty good and it helps to learn a few hotkeys to quickly keep things flowing. Aside from that, I am a n00b at this and I can't even remember the hotkeys I used lol. I wish they would bring about more advanced lines of symetry control, but then again it is open so I sould basically dig into the code and try not to get lost! It is in java, for any programmers wishing to tinker. BUT, a great feauture for those who wish to control the libraries is...well, no coding needed. You can load up your own set of images, shapes or whatever in vector forma nd use those for the feature that randomly paints using shapes from a library. A few video's help to learn about this stuff, but you can sort of click on the interface and have fun and figure out. Hit the big X to delete the whole mess or unwanted art, start again! Any tips on how to use this?
  23. Whoaaw...you are uploading to maing grid each time. I mean, you must not know of the beta grid? Um, the wiki will help you find out about how to log in, it uses the same viewer you have right now and all you do is enable a grid option menu at start up via...well, I can't remember teh key combo....ctrl+alt+g? Um, either way you just need to hit the key combo and then choose "Aditi" and you have a copy of you rinventory, 5000L (more added when LL feels like it lol) and you just upload and test away! The grid is seperate from Agni, which is the Main Grid. So anything that works there will NOT be in your inventory in world. Things on beta can NOT be put on marketplace or sold to put money into your main grid account. The Aditi grid is a clone, so is you avatar and inventory. They make an update now and then, so you might lose you beta grid test uploads if they decide to refresh the Aditi grid and your avatars inventory ect. YOu will get a exact copy at the moment they do the snapshot...um, that is all really. Free testing grounds, just map search for a sandbox (teh whole grid is not here, only a small portion of it!) and have fun! When you get something good, then spend L's to upload that one item that works!!!
  24. I like the comparison to 8Track BUT, will point out it is more or less than that, that was a sort of standard anyone could make tapes for! I think sculpts are like those toys that are pretend music players and pretend cameras. You pull the camera's fake polaroidish picture out and it is the same picture lol. Exept, it has thousands of pictures that thousands of users create and sell...sort of. Like a happy meal music player thingy, the stereo at home doesn't handle it NOT because of age, it is due to it not being known or being used by many people! Besides, you can pop in an 8track and listen to it...it might brtake these days due ot age. BUT, you can still play vynil records AND buy them and those are obsolete to! Not many stereo systems have a turntable, still bands make vynil!!!
  25. It sounds funny when the person says "I might have lost that..." BUT, I did once pay the wrong person a little money! I asked them to send it back, it was obviously a mistake. Do I need to tell the end to the story? Yes, they did not send it lol. But thenever depleating? That is strange! But, anyway. Here are a few questions if you can't find out via checking your accounts transaction history and figuring it out there (simply instant message the payer?) um...ok.... Did you ever build in a sandbox or anywhere? You might have made something set to 'buy' by accident and people are buying it. Though, that does not explain the money being there still. In your transaction history it might help you to see where this might be. Another one might be that you rezzed a vendor somewhere and that vendor was an affiliate vendor. Another issue is, did you enter a competition?Maybe even in world, if you clicked something you might have been entered into a competition! Another is, are you a premium member? If you signed up for a premium account then you get 300L each week and if you have a classifieds ad, then that explains the 50L taken. To check if you are, just look at your profile. Another issue you might check out is, are you a member of a group that has options enabled that disburses money? There is a function that allows them to take money and maybe also one that pays...Here is a link about Groups and money ->http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Group#Groups_and_Money I am sort of out of ideas here, other than a glitch in the new viewer!
