  1. I can build you a store, but I won't be able to offer a space to put it, however. Though I'm willing to offer my services for free since I barely charge for any of my builds anyway. Message me in world or send me a detailed NC about what you'd like.
  2. I tried to tackle both the 'Gamer' people. I think the girl was far more successful considering the guy had his hair stuck to his skull. D: --
  3. Ahh this looks like a lot of fun. Gonna do this when I get home!
  4. Everyone has to start somewhere. My first characters were flat and unimaginative and probably ripped from shows or books I was familiar with. If you like, I can help you flesh out a character to get you started. I find it best to start with the appearance (whether I make them in-world, draw them someplace, or just fill out a list like Age: Height: Weight: Eye Color: Hair Color:, etc.). Half the time the back story for my characters in rp sims is very basic. Just something for me to get a feel of them and understand why they do what they do. Say a man lost a loved one to a house fire. Maybe that inspires him to be a firefighter, maybe he finds out it was arson and he goes on to be a police man, or maybe he goes on a revenge mission to cause grief to the person who ruined his life. Maybe he starts on this revenge mission, but through rp, he meets someone else who's suffered a similar loss and they bond and interact and this person changes your character and he decides to go on a different path. He GROWS. That's the fun about rp, seeing your character grow into a different or more refined version than what they started out as.
  5. There are a lot of places in the destination guide that have to do with art - sims to explore with installations and custom work, interactive things, etc. There are mystery 'games' you can solve puzzles for. I can't help you much if you don't like going to clubs alone for the music. But maybe if you go to the clubs, someone might see you and strike up a conversation, and then bam, you're at a club with a friend. I'd say go try out the fantasy rp places, but you say it 'didn't work out'? How so? You can't just...drop your character into the sim and expect people to walk up to you and start a scene. You need to figure out what motivates your character in the setting (ie, maybe they need a drink - go to a tavern, or maybe they want to be the leader of a gang - go to group headquarters, or maybe they want to woo a fair maiden - go locate a lady who might be interested, etc) and then act upon those motivations. If you just plop in and stand around, obviously it's going to be boring as hell. Walk around, explore, get to know the sim and the people in it, then figure out where you can situate yourself. For example, in an urban rp I'm in, my character wasn't getting much interaction, so I moved him over to a group of people and made him start fiddling with a busted cell phone. Someone saw my post, approached my character, and asked about the fate of his phone. Thus began a lovely rp scene that lasted for a few hours. It doesn't take much, honestly. If you can't think of anything else, put your character in a crowded location - such as a tavern or the middle of a busy street - and make them collapse. People will wonder what's happening and you don't have to do much more than lie there and rp an unconscious person. Once your character 'wakes up', you'll be ripe for some good rp. Easy peasy. The reason I'm expanding a lot on the rp option is because based on your interests, I think you might find it rewarding. Another option is to go the route of job seeking. There are plenty of job agencies hiring for various positions (you could be a host in a club - get to listen to music and be paid at the same time! And no awkward 'being there alone' deal because you're working with other staff, yay.).
  6. Dude, you must be a boring sob, huh? No wonder your friend is distancing herself. Do you not have any hobbies? People have been giving you countless examples of things you can go do, but you keep shooting them down. What are some things you like? What are you interested in? If you let us know what you're into, maybe we can help direct you to places you'd like. Otherwise, if you refuse to find something interesting in SL, then why bother staying?
  7. Have you tried piecing together an AO from Oracul? http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Kuso/250/211/243 -- You can stop in there, grab an empty hud, and just pick and choose what animations you want. I've seen quite a few child avatars in there buying walks, stands, turns, etc. Each animation is $L10. c: However, if you find an AO that you really like all the stuff from, you can just buy that outright for L$300 and you can always add in more animations to your hud. I'm pretty sure my AO now contains at least one animation from every male set they have. And even a few of the girl sets!
  8. I'm thinking of building again, but seeing as how I've been out of the game for so long, I'd like to ask some of you guys what you like to see in houses that you purchase. Tastes change and all that. xD ------------------------------ 1) How tall do you prefer the walls to be? On average. 2) Do you like a lot of windows / an airy look to your house? 3) Do you like open floor plans (studio style), or a lot of hallways and closed off rooms? 4) Do you like 'realistic' plans (ie; those with bathrooms & kitchens), or more 'sl style' (just bedrooms & living rooms)? 5) Are bigger houses better? Smaller houses? 6) How about levels? Are single story houses more your style, or do you like multi-level? 7) What kind of textures do you like best? Simple and easy, or something with more flair? New and clean, or lived in? Perhaps a healthy mixture? 8) What sort of colors do you like your houses to be? Neutrals, colorful, patterned, etc? 9) How do you feel about extra details (ie; 3D doorknobs, baked shadows/lighting, trim around the walls, light switches/outlets, etc)? 10) How many prims will you allow just the house to be? What's the maximum limit you have? ------------------------------ Thank you very much for answering any questions! This will be a very big help! c:
  9. Not bad, but you could've resized the painting to fit completely over the body of the guitar so you don't have those lines where the picture didn't fill in properly.
  10. Do you have a slurl for the place in-world so I can check it out?
  11. Looks like this. I've never really noticed any issues before, tbh. Only poses that make my avi's arms do a grand gesture causes any sort of spiky look, but that happens on all my avis.
  12. Actually the way sl avi mesh works, the men look WORSE when they are muscular. The muscles do not end up in the correct place nor do they bend correctly. I find it easier to make good, more realistic male avatars when I make them a touch more slender and not all hulked out. These are two of my male avis. They are both rather slender, but they have some definition. The one on the right is taller and more broad than the left one, but they still keep similar proportions.
  13. I think the best approach to making an avi you're happy with is finding a skin you really really like, then, like Cade said, if you don't want to start from scratch with a shape, find one close to what you are looking for. When you find something within the same vicinity (ie - don't get a muscled-bound shape if you want a slender shape lol), you can edit on your own from there. I find it very helpful in the long run if you learn how to make your own shapes. Once you get the hang of it, you can make every shape you've ever wanted and tweak your shapes easily to fit different needs.
  14. You're very welcome! I hope you can find everything you need. ^^
  15. First, creep around the marketplace so you don't have to wait for things to load in world. Also, here is a link with people talking about good places to buy female skins. Good luck! Edit: As for a shape, if you want it to look like the character, you can get custom shapes generally for about L$1-2k. (sometimes cheaper, sometimes more; depends). Most shapes are sold at L$500 last time I looked, but I make my own shapes because I'm picky.
  16. I'm not entirely sure. All I know is skins tend to be rather expensive in general. Plus I think you're gonna run into some copyright issues using the exact skin template from the game instead of having someone make a similar one from scratch. With that in mind, whoever you get to make the skin for you isn't going to be able to use the textures and would have to make one from scratch (or if they are a skin creator, just edit a preexisting one to fit your request). I think your best bet would be to go looking around for skins and find one that is the closest to this character (she's rather generic and I think you could find a skin very close), then get yourself some hair and clothing to fit.
  17. It's gonna be very hard to find someone to make this for less than L$1000.
  18. I have a few different 'characters' that stay more-or-less the same, just go through updates. Two human males: one petite/white, one more manly/black; a female hispanic, and a furry (he doesn't get updated so much as he just wears clothes from other avis). None of the have had shape changes in at least 2 years, but skin and hair updates are done when needed and clothing updates even more frequently, though they have 'default' outfits.
  19. Oh, that's fine! I can always just 'add' instead of straight out 'wear'! Thank you very much. These are almost exactly what I was looking for.
  20. I welcome new skin recommendations (I have somewhat of a collection haha), but what I'm looking for is more a tattoo layer of body hair that I can just slap on over my existing skin since I finally settled on one I really liked. I remember I found a skin creator who had skins with lovely body hair and asked them if there was a way they could sell the hair layer separate, but they never bothered to get back to me. I was seriously bummed. D: It's not that hard to turn off layers people! But anyway. - The skin you linked me is great in the body area (+happy trail yay), but the face isn't quite right. It's hard to find a nice combo. >-<
  21. Not sure if right forum, sorry if I put this in the wrong spot! - Anyway, it took me a while to find a good black male skin that didn't look like my character was on steroids or anything and that also had a nice face. Only drawback to this skin is it doesn't come with a +body hair version. The different styles only come with facial hair options (which I chose to opt out of in favor of a tattoo stubble layer, but I digress). My main avi is more 'pretty', so him being mostly hairless looks fine, but this one is not like that, and he just feels downright naked without something! Hell, I'd even settle for a little bit of leg hair. D: He's hairless all over and it just doesn't sit right with me. So far, I've had zero luck finding anything that works! All I can manage to find on the marketplace is gorilla people or prim body hair which just, ugh, no thank you. I'm wanting something along the lines of these guys (they are in underwear fyi). Just enough to be tasteful without turning into a human carpet. If anyone can help, I'd be overjoyed! Honestly, I'm half a second away from jumping on PS and making my own body hair! pfft
  22. I'm using v2, and suddenly last night the new Beta Search just stopped loading, I'm getting some error about a media plugin, and the profiles are no longer loading for me. How do I fix all this? D:
  23. As far as I know, most shirts already come with an underwear layer nowadays. I haven't run aross any shirt that I couldn't tuck in. Where did you get this shirt, if I may ask? Because most sellers sell shirts with all the layers.
