  1. Hi all, First of all, we apologize for the extended downtime this morning and the lingering slowness on the Marketplace web site. The issues were related to hardware downtime and database issues hit during the deploy. We will update this forum once we have addressed the slowness on the Marketplace. Now for the details on the deploy. With today’s deploy, all payments will now move into and out of the Commerce Linden account, and Marketplace Linden will no longer be used. (Currently only listing enhancements are paid to Commerce Linden.) Going forward, you will see money getting paid to Commerce Linden, as opposed to Marketplace Linden, when you make a purchase, and money moving into your account from Commerce Linden when you receive payments or distributions from Marketplace sales. Here is an overview of the changes in this release: All payments now go through Commerce Linden. New transactions will no longer appear on XStreet L$ transaction reports, though historical transactions will continue to be available. The next deploy will include a downloadable CSV with the same data for all new transactions. This report will be available with the next Marketplace deploy later this week or early next week. Fixes have been made for WEB-3446. Please see the JIRA for details on the corrected rounding logic. This change in the way payments are processed is necessary groundwork for moving forward with Direct Delivery. With this release, the way objects are listed on the Marketplace and delivered to customers has NOT changed. Please continue to list and purchase items as you always have. For those who would like to read more about Direct Delivery, please see the Direct Delivery FAQ. Please contact Customer Service or file a JIRA if you see additional issues with this latest release. Note that an index is in the process of being updated, so you may see duplicate listings in your merchant admin. These are not duplicates, and will be cleaned up as the index completes. Thank you! Brooke UPDATED We are currently testing the following items and will deploy fixes tomorrow (Sept. 15) if these pass testing (there will be no downtime): WEB-4123: "Order number no longer included in secondlife.com account history" https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-4123 WEB-4119: "ANS system bug after Marketplace Maintenance" https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-4119 WEB-4122: "Permissions reset when editing listing" https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-4122 In addition, we have an outstanding internal JIRA for the new report with transaction details, which has been completed, but is still being tested. This report is part of the planned release for Sept. 15. The following issues are still under investigation. If we have fixes ready, we will deploy them early next week: WEB-4121: "L$0 are appearing in transaction history" https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-4121 WEB-4125: "The same listing shows up twice in my inventory" https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-4125 (NOTE: this is a problem with our index--there is NOT duplicate listing data)
  2. Hi all, Marketplace is back up, though we are still seeing some slowness. Be aware that an index is slowly updating, so you may see the same item listed twice in your merchant inventory. Note that there are NOT 2 copies, they just appear twice in the index. This will get cleaned up as the index continues to update. Apologies for the delays. Brooke
  3. The Marketplace is still down. We will post to this forum when we are up again. We are working to get this resolved ASAP. We apologize for the delay. Brooke
  4. Hi all, Since the Marketplace is down, i cannot update a site wide message. The deploy is still in progress and will be completed by 10amSLT. Thank you for your patience. Brooke
  5. Hi all, Since the Marketplace is down, i cannot update a site wide message. The deploy is still in progress and will be completed by 10amSLT. Thank you for your patience. Brooke
  6. Hi all, I just want to let people know that there is a JIRA on this and this is being investigated/worked on. Please follow the JIRA as the place for the most up to date information and include steps to reproduce the issues you are seeing. Here's the link: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-4097. Thanks! Brooke
  7. Hi all, As many of you know, today Mesh was deployed to the entire grid, and an updated Second Life Viewer was released.   What does this mean to Merchants?  If you are certified to upload mesh content, you should now feel free to list mesh-based items for sale on the Marketplace. (You can mark items as partially or fully mesh when editing a Marketplace listing.) We’re very interested in getting feedback from Merchants who are selling mesh objects and hearing about additional mesh support your customers would like to see on the Marketplace.  Based on that information, we will be working with the Mesh Team to determine what improvements we can make. Brooke
  8. Hi all, I've created a new thread with pointers to the presentation and slides. Brooke
  9. Hi all, Yesterday (as some of you have noticed), I spoke as part of a panel on the Future of Commerce in Second Life. For those of you who are interested, here are the links to the presentation and slides: Commerce Presentation Commerce Slides We showed some early screen shots from a test system with Direct Delivery code on it. We’ll be sending out more details on Direct Delivery in the coming weeks. (For those who are not familiar with Direct Delivery, please see the Direct Delivery FAQ.) Brooke
  10. Hi all, There’s been some speculation in the community about the cause of the recent login failures. Just to clarify a few things: We have not deployed any Direct Delivery code, and we won’t do so without advance notification to Merchants. The problems with search results (i.e. numerous L$0 and L$1 items shown) were caused by the login failures, and therefore were resolved along with the fix for login failures. A garbage collection issue related to a server upgrade several months ago was the cause of the login failures. We appreciate merchants’ patience over the last week. We’re taking steps to prevent this kind of problem in the future, and for the system to alert us sooner if for some reason such a problem might occur again. Brooke
  11. HI all, We have resolved these issues. We will continue to monitor Marketplace this evening. Please alert us if you see any additional issues. Thank you. Brooke
  12. I posted an update on this just a bit ago--wanted to make sure those following this thread saw it. Thanks for your patience! Brooke
  13. Hi all, As you all are aware, login failures on the Marketplace are still occurring, albeit at a lower rate. We thought we had found the cause yesterday evening and fixed it, but, before I could add to yesterday’s forum update, login failures started happening again. We have been keeping the grid status page up to date, and that is the best place for the most up to date status on these kinds of issues. Just to clarify the issues we are seeing are as follows: Intermittent failures to login to the Marketplace and the Support Portal. If there was a failure to login to the Marketplace, search results are not as expected (this is due to the login failure). If a user is able to log in successfully, or is not logged in and has not experienced a log in failure, search results are as expected. We will continue to investigate and post updates on the grid status page. Brooke
  14. Hi all, A notice went up on the Marketplace web site a couple of hours ago, and I'm just getting to the forums for a quick note. We are still seeing login failures which are resulting in other issues, such as search results not being correct. The problem is being actively worked, and we'll update the grid status page once we have more information. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for your patience. Brooke
  15. Hi all, We have posted new documents to the wiki that explain the Mesh rollout plan in more detail and describe the implications for the various types of users: Mesh Rollout Plan How Mesh Content Affects You If you don’t find the information you need in these documents, we encourage you to visit the Mesh Forum to ask questions, search for answers, or make comments. If you have commerce-related questions or comments about Mesh which you have not already raised in another thread, please respond to this post. Thanks! Brooke
  16. Hi all, Today we released an additional social networking feature on the Marketplace: Facebook Like. You can still comment on Facebook (and other social networking applications) using our AddThis widget. Please let us know if you see any issues or have other suggestions. Thanks! Brooke
  17. Thanks for your feedback. We'll pull these into our plans as makes sense. As we've indicated, right now our top priority is Direct Delivery, except for some small features/fixes that need to be deployed until we ship Direct Delivery. Brooke
  18. Hi all, Today we released merchant admin support for mesh on the Marketplace. Those of you following this forum may have seen the plan for mesh support on Marketplace. The first step of this support will be allowing mesh-enabled Merchants to mark an object as partially or entirely composed of mesh. As the mesh rollout is still in progress, and not all regions support mesh, customers buying mesh items may not be able to use them.  Therefore we recommend that Merchants do NOT activate mesh listings until the entire grid supports mesh. Some of you have commented in the forums that you have missed the weekly release notes. As we have been focused on Direct Delivery, we have not needed to deploy any Marketplace updates in the past couple of months--thus, no forum posts. Once we get closer to the Direct Delivery rollout, expect to see more details here. Please let us know if you see any issues related to this release, or any other thoughts you may have. Brooke
  19. Hi all, I would like to reiterate that Linden Lab is encouraging merchants NOT to list mesh objects on the Marketplace until all sims on the grid are mesh-enabled. We are providing merchants with the ability to mark listings as mesh, but recommend that merchants do not make such listings active until the entire grid is mesh-enabled. I am working with the mesh team to address other questions raised on this thread by the end of next week. Brooke
  20. I just posted a top level thread on this. Here's the link: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Merchants/Mesh-Support-on-the-Marketplace/td-p/997805. Thanks for bringing this up! Brooke
  21. Hi all, As many of you are aware, sims are gradually being mesh-enabled with the goal of reaching 100% support in-world as quickly as possible. Merchants who wish to sell mesh items on the Marketplace should bear in mind that many customers won’t be able to use them until the full rollout, likely resulting in many customer support requests. However, we are not doing anything to prevent selling mesh items on the Marketplace. The week of August 1, 2011 we will begin allowing merchants who are Mesh enabled to mark an object as partially or entirely composed of Mesh when editing a listing.  Will the average purchaser care, or understand, what mesh means?  We are not sure of that answer, so for the initial rollout we won’t be displaying a mesh indicator on a product listing or providing a capability to search for mesh objects explicitly.  After that time, we will evaluate customer demand for those features. As we are allowing (and encouraging) merchants to mark their mesh offerings, adding those features at a later date will be simple. We’ll continue to work with the Mesh team to make sure that features to support Mesh on the Marketplace “mesh” with their efforts to support creation of Mesh content inworld. Please keep comments and feedback coming! Brooke
  22. Thank you all for noticing that Dakota has been working in a timely manner to address questions/issues posted on the forums and through support channels. It's great to hear posittive feedback when we are doing something that is working for you all. As a quick side note: many of you may have noticed that the June Marketplace update has not happened yet. An update will be coming shortly, but in a slightly different format than is has been given in the past. Stay tuned! Brooke
  23. We completed the deploy about an hour ago, so in store sort order for relevance should be back to a similar order it was before Tuesday's deploy. I have heard those of you who were happy about the feature--we just could not leave it out there with such a significant bug. Our goal with this feature was that it not impact existing behavior. Unforunately, it did. We will need to fix the feature so it only affects sort order for merchants who choose to use it before we can re-release it. Brooke
  24. The relevance bug that has been reported in this thread in the store is unfortunately not a simple fix. To clarify: the sort order reported as “Relevance” when viewing a merchant’s store broke due to the sort feature. “Relevance” sort order outside of the context of a store is still working as designed. (For example, when you search by Item keywords, “Relevance” sort is working as expected.) Since we would like to take the time to incorporate merchant feedback when we fix this bug, we will be rolling back to the previous release tomorrow. If you have saved sort order for your listings, these values will not be lost. They will be retained in the database and applied when we are able to re-visit this feature to fix the bug with relevance. Thank you for your patience. Brooke
  25. Thanks to those of you who alerted us to issues with merchant sort. We have identified 2 issues: Performance issues exposed by merchant sort Relevance sort order mislabeled when merchants explicitly sort listings Performance The popularity of merchant sort has exposed some areas that are ripe for performance improvements. We have already identified one issue and will be deploying a fix the next time we release. (This will help to address the issues with saving the sort order seen earlier in the day.) Relevance The relevance issue is a labeling issue: relevance in the store view will show the merchant chosen sort order. However, relevance as a whole was not impacted. You can test this out yourself by searching for your quoted merchant name in Item search and view the relevance order of your items--note that this is different from what is labeled as “relevance” sort order in your store. “Relevance” in your store refers to your selected sort--we’ll need to fix this label and add back in sort by relevance in the merchant store. For comments on this issue, please add to WEB-3883. Thanks! Brooke
