  1. To those who have put in the tickets for the house request. How exactly did that work? I mean, was it literally a house you found through wandering? Did you have to have a specific coordinate? I read the FAQ but my brain is fuzzy on this perk.
  2. Exactly! My best have usually been right around the same time. That was when I grabbed my current Vic. (Though I'm a little salty about having to derender most of the items in the back to see the little inlet that's against the property.) I'm thinking I'm going to have to steal her alt to try getting her a better parcel.
  3. Persephone Emerald, Nika Talaj, Chloe Bunny and Frigga Freidman, thank you so much for your insights into this. You guys are awesome. I was wondering though, no one mentioned a good time to throw for a new home. I think part of my sisters problem is that she works all week and doesn't come on really at all. Usually I can count on her for Saturday night only from like eight to eleven. Do any of you think that might be an issue? I've never really had a lot of problems with Game of Homes because I'm home during the day so I can stalk the land page.
  4. Oh my gosh, I was honestly worried you were going to tell me that it required my sister and I and our alts to all start throwing for the cabins until we worked through the backlog of homes until we find the one that she wants. I'll let her know that she needs to read your reply (since she's the most into the candles and incense aspect of it. I don't think she ever thought of using the craft in the tiny selfish way. Her way wreaks a lot more havoc but it's mostly at...anyway) I will admit that the thinking hard about what you want and rolling with the picture in mind does actually help. It took me quite a few poopy throws before I landed my dream stilt. Now I'm working on Vic's. I came close yesterday. Anyway, thank you very much for the details. You're a dream.
  5. If you don't mind my asking, how did you help her to get that one? My sister has been wanting a log cabin with a better view but she's not sure how to go about getting a better one. I mean, normally she pulls the same one over and over so any little tips or tricks to help her achieve her goal would be a huge blessing. Thank you in advance.
  6. If anyone is interested in a Houseboat I'm going to be letting one go at seven SL time. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bennetts Cove/207/47/27. Give me a yell if you want it before the witching hour.
  7. Hey, so my alt picked up a stilt on land that I'd take if I needed it. Corner lot. East facing deck. Boat rez zone right across the pier behind the house. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bumpus/207/64/27. Let me know if you're interested or else it goes at eight SL time. It is a pretty cool location but the dock doesn't actually go over the water.
  8. Go out your front door and find a pole with a light on it...it's the controller to your house. Open the controller and choose either the santiago or the lauderdale. Those are the two you're looking for. I'm inworld now if you want to IM me. I can pop over and help.
  9. Yay! Thank you! He's going to opposite my smoke blowing tiki I think. There isn't much you can do to a stilt so I might as well plant a few things in the sand. Or maybe he'll stand guard off the back deck. You're awesome!
  10. OMG!!!! I freaking love your elephant! Please, please, please can you tell me where you got it. My stilt needs it to guard the stairs.
  11. So, I'm going to go out on a limb and just say that I've been so happy to see that practically every home is available. I told my sister that this is a fantastic time to play Game of Homes. I'd do it, but I finally found a really amazing stilt home. It's only missing a west facing deck. *blinks* So I really do NOT need to play the game. Because if I give up this one that has everything (almost) that I've been looking for, and I don't find the one that has EVERYTHING that I've been looking for...help me. I can't play. I can not play the game. (But it is a really, really good time to play the game) But I should not play the game...Though would it hurt to roll just once or twice?
  12. Really? Well...I did ditch my Stilt on Pier today to grab a Newbrook, but after taking thirty minutes to even get to my house I got pissy and abandoned it. Seriously I didn't even really look at the plot at all. LOL...I'm such a freaking baby. I then played Game of Homes with the stilts but never grabbed one that I liked. So now I'm homeless but I figured this is the best time for it. I'll try the Newbrooks tomorrow afternoon. I think that's when I can start looking at houses again.
  13. I finally got a stilt on pier. I dumped three of the stilts on land when they popped up because they were surrounded by sand. I'm like you, my ideal is a half and half. My very first stilt on land was a half and half and to this day I'm kicking myself for letting it go. I got caught up in my sisters game of homes and wound up rolling caca for a week before I got a river front fantasy. But I missed the palm trees. I figure when the new homes come up I'll grab one for the content pack and jump back into my stilts. I had really high hopes for the new ones because I'm an MCM junkie, but I'm concerned about plot size after reading some of the comments here. My sister is like you, she loved her Log cabin but she could never manage to nab that perfect spot. So she's biding her time and irritating her neighbors over in the fantasy houses and waiting for the new guys to drop so she can hopefully, finally, get the Log cabin of her dreams.
  14. Ohhhhh...okay. I get it now. Thank you guys! I didn't even know that was a place on the map, but I don't pay much attention unless I'm bouncing around the different themes for a walk about.
  15. If you don't mind my asking, what exactly is Rouge. I've seen it mentioned before but I just thought it was an area in Newbrooke.
  16. I'm not gonna lie, I've made myself crazy looking over the unreleased stilt homes. There's actually a slew of them about two squares over from where my home is. I like to wander that area so I can perv cam into the homes to look at views from the upstairs windows or landing on the back deck for the same thing. No one can think I'm being a pervy jerk if I'm in one of those areas for more than a few seconds. It's also where I thought I'd like to have the stilt on water. But after everyone here started to list their own pros and cons I see that I was mistaken. I think.
  17. Thank you guys so much! You've given me a lot to think about. I now see that I didn't think through the ownership of a stilt on water. When I'm bored I have a tendency to go out my front door and wander around the sim for a bit. Which would be impossible from a stilt on water. And I love the idea of a stilt on pier but I have a feeling I'll miss the sand. I'm a little restless right now because my current stilt is in a decent location but there is a stilt on water directly behind me that has built a deck that has killed the view of the open water from my house. But considering the way homes have been at a premium lately I definitely don't want to play game of homes with the few stilts that pop up for fear the location would be poopy. I actually lucked out the last time it happened. I somehow managed to get my old stilt back after failing to nab a stilt on water. Anyway this might be a moot point if I wander around the new homes and decide that I HAVE to have one or I'll die. You guys are so awesome. Thank you for helping me decide. *Blows kisses*
  18. Stilt on Land. Stilt on Pier. Stilt on Water. For those who have been lucky enough to own a stilt I have to ask which you prefer and why. If you've owned a stilt and got rid of it because you hated it, what made you get rid of it. Same thing with the Houseboats. I've owned one and I hated it. I had it for maybe two days before I dumped it. It wasn't big enough and I didn't like having the other houseboats so close to me on either side. But for those of you who have a houseboat, why did you keep it? I have a stilt on land but sometimes think I need more water around me so I want a stilt on water. (I'm a Pisces so I honestly think that's part of my problem) But someone who has had one could tell me if there are drawbacks to them. Sooooo...yeah...pros and cons.
  19. I actually was wandering around one of the unopened regions yesterday...wishing, wishing, wishing they'd just open them already. I even picked out which one I wanted.
  20. Oh no, Teresa Firelight! You didn't. I'm a ginormous baby who needs to quit being greedy. As Fay Starlight just reminded me, there will be oodles of stilts on water for me very soon. I need to pull up my big girl panties and wait...and lurk the land page with a bottle of wine. *blows kisses* At least now I know that my current waiting isn't in vain.
  21. I'm gonna cry. The one afternoon I don't come on because I had other things I had to get done, is the afternoon I see the stilt on water. The only one that would make me give up my cute stilt on land. WHY???? I need a cocktail to cry in. Back to stalking the land page.
  22. Thank you Kylie and Sylvia! You two are awesome! I love coming to the forums because everyone is so freaking smart.
  23. At the risk of sounding foolish (which is fine because I kind of am) How does one de-render an object. I see all of you talking about it and I've always wondered how it's done. Thank you!
  24. Thank you. I'll watch it and take notes for her.
  25. I'm really hoping this is the right Forum, if it isn't I'm really, really sorry. So my sister (again, I swear she needs to learn how to use the SL site) has some snapshots that she'd like to turn into framed pictures she can hang on the wall of her Linden home. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to do that? I guess I'm the one that has to learn it so I can teach her. Thank you in advance. Oh and if possible can you use little words, I'm really not very good at computer anything so, yeah, baby steps. Thank you!
