  1. This sounds like fun! We should totally create a coven, like The Craft Let me know if there is some room left -- I'd love to RP with you all.
  2. I'd try checking out the SL Destinations for new places to explore. That's what I usually do whenever I'm bored on SL (which is almost always nowadays...) You get to check out new, interesting places, and sometimes you get lucky and meet really nice people.
  3. Welcome back Sushie. I just got back from a really long SL hiatus too. Feel free to send me a msg whenever you're in-world. :cathappy:
  4. Welcome to SL. Feel free to add me in-world (Gabby Martinez). :robothappy:
  5. After about a year of trolling SL with a newbie skin and shape, I decided to get serious and invest in a quality av that had many of the same physical characteristics as me, but with the ability to be customizable. So, as far as skin, shape, clothing and accessories, my av strongly resembles me in RL. The only changes I make is the different hair styles and colors. My thought process was to create an av that I could identify myself with and be happy about, especially if I was going to be investing L$ on it. Turns out that the av I ended up creating strongly resembles me and how I see myself,
  6. LOL that's the funniest thing I've ever heard. Sounds like their putting together a grid-wide "swear jar" or something. :robotlol:
  7. I've seen a couple of RP schools being advertised on events pages, and on the Second Life calendar which you might want to check out. I haven't personally looked into any of these classes, and I don't know anyone that has gone to one, so I can't really tell you what they cover. I got into RPing on SL by just observing in other RP sims, getting to know their system, and just going with the flow. There are some elitist jerks that will usually try to put you down, but don't get discouraged because it's really a learning experience. Start by going to some popular RP sims and getting a visitor tag
  8. Just created an account on your site. Love the storyline! Can't wait to stop by the sim and check it out :robotvery-happy:
  9. I just logged in. You should try now. :robotvery-happy:
  10. Hi Vixen, The best thing to do is observe different RP sims and see what styles are used there, and then just try it out yourself. That's how I got started. Send me an IM whenever your're in-world and I can give you a list of a couple of RP areas that are decent to start with.
  11. City of Concord is a good bet. There's also City of Phoenix which will be opening up soon. Send me an IM (redqueen.mumblewood) and I'll give you the details.
  12. Hi Ember, Welcome to SL! Feel free to send me a msg (or a notecard) if you get bored. I'm usually just wandering around in-world. :cathappy:
  13. These are great! Thank you sooo much. I didnt even think of searching the marketplace *facepalm* :robotvery-happy:
  14. Hi everyone! I'm looking for a bow-tie or anchor necklace for an outfit I'm putting together. I've checked a couple of stores already and no luck :robotsad: Has anyone seen any of these one at a store, or know of any stores that might have something related? Much appreciated!
  15. Working in SL is a good way of making money. Check out the Inworld Employment section of the forums for some postings. Welcome to SL :robotvery-happy:
  16. Welcome to SL! Feel free to send me an IM whenever you're in-world to chat. I'm into dnb, dubstep, and pretty much the entire music scene :robotvery-happy:
  17. Hi Lesi, I'd love to be your sister. Send me an IM in-world :matte-motes-big-grin:
  18. Welcome to Second Life :robotvery-happy: I started at working at a club so I would try starting there. It's a great way to network with people and to learn about the SL community. The club scene is a pretty big aspect of SL so once you learn the basics you could pretty much find a job anywhere. A lot of people do prefer hiring after 30 days, so don't be surprised if some people are apprehensive. I currently host at a club and we're always looking to expand out little clan. Send me a notecard in-world and I'll give you the details.
  19. In my RP experience I've noticed that it's really not that different from text-based RPing. Most of the time you're going to be staring at local chat either reading someone's para-RP, or you're going to be typing one out...at least that's what I've encountered. The visuals do really help out, and there are some great RPers and sims out there that use the visual advantage of SL well.
  20. I am totally a shopaholic. That's basically the only reason why i go on SL. I especially looooove sales, so whenever there's a group notice or something, I jump on it faster than a flea on a dog :matte-motes-big-grin-squint: I wish I had more group slots to keep joining store groups...
  21. Nope. I'm currently in-world...check here to troubleshoot: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Login-failure/ta-p/700109
  22. Have you tried the Harry Potter-ish RP sims? Try this one: http://hogwartsyourstory.com/ There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't
