I actually grabbed a house also at that first release. It was the small traditional(OMG SMALL), so I actually changed it! I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THAT DANG MAIL BOX OPTION!!! GRRRR??

So I let it go? I mean I am renting a other 5k parcel atm also decorating the Scarlet Creatives Magica house on it. I get lost in that house as compared to not even being able to see my elbow in the small traditional Linden Lab home.

Yea, many people the first days were also thinking was one option and thats it... i actually let go various before hold onto one when i finally saw someone around somehow switching the home.... and touched the mailbox by chance.. and there it was, OPTIONS.... The process could be better in some ways... like for example... giving that info somehow.

I think what you saw -- and wildly misinterpreted, at least initially -- was the last traces of our Quality Assurance (QA) people at work.     That is,  and most particularly during the run up to the initial release, we test everything multiple times, and that includes testing what happens when a new owner takes over the parcel.

So yes, during the last few days after we finally cloned the regions over from the SSP regions to Bellissaria and then switched them from one estate to another,  several Lindens (and their alts) were very busy taking over parcels from each other and double-checking everything worked as expected after the handover.

They remained owners of the parcels that they'd been checking until a resident was assigned one by the website.    What you report seeing  is expected behaviour, as we call it.  I guess the Land Lindens could have reassigned the parcels to Governor Linden or whoever the placeholder was after QA was finished but it would just have made unnecessary extra work for people who are plenty busy anyway, even when we don't have a major release going on.

People can believe me or not, but I can assure there's nothing sinister going on there.

Wasn't aware of a conspiracy theory on that subject! Woudnt be a great idea to copy a section of bellisseria somewhere else and have it for employees? they could hop on the train too!  actually, you guys have a whole continent over there at SSP just asking to be habbited! that could be the new employee dream land!

  4. The idea of employees and residents sharing virtual spaces and being part of the same community is actually great. Maybe that was part of the concept and some point but then got a turn when they realized the continent was a bigger success than expected, and naturally, those spaces were given to paying customers.  Non the less, employees and contractors seems to be encouraged to live inworld, you can find both Mole and Linden employees home clusters/communities, and they are both quite interesting and nice places to visit.

I remember Patch discussing this at (I think) the Meet the Moles event -- now that we've moved to releasing new traditional and houseboat regions as and when they become available rather than releasing a whole lot of them every few weeks and seeing them all go in under an hour, once  additional traditional and houseboat regions are released by LDPW then we aren't involved any more.   I know that when I've done my final bits of checking and preparation, there's a couple more things other members of LDPW need to do but after that, responsibility for the release date and time are no longer ours.    At that point, we know that it should be released before too long, but certainly I don't expect to hear about the region again, unless it's in some other context.

It's a completely separate exercise from the major releases, like the original one or when we released the "Squishy Pickle" regions a couple of weeks ago.

When I grabbed my home the very first day it went online I remember finding many lindens actually claiming homes for themselves. I had atleast  7 lindens that moved in arround me (they were set as land owners and lands had custom names and all that stuff), and I found it pretty curious... Is a bit sad but at the same time is good to see that later those homes were put back onto the market and given to residents to give more availability.

I could be wrong... maybe they could just been checking them out or testing... I just know the 2nd day when it got all sold out, at some point they were not my neighbors anymore.

A Mole is very much in theme.  You should fly around the continent a bit and see what apparently is in theme for being in the air.  The covenant does specifically say that objects can be up to 15m high.

/me thinks you are taking things way too seriously

I do, ive seen people being kicked out of linden homes for misunderstandings of the covenant, just like that.

Basicly you are required to keep your exterior of the home tidy and somehow pleasing, in tone with the surrounding. A large hovering prim over the home does not fits well with that.  They want to keep the neighborhoods looking good... can say... picture perfect... but yes, i have seen some pretty bad examples around but i would pretty much guess there are some things that they have to consider before returning something that is not exactly pretty.. public opinion is pretty important and people dont like when things gets returned "just cause".

  7. Pretty sure that still goes against the covenant as could either be not in theme or be a vissual disturbance. I don't feel the need to go onto that extreme neither.

Shine it onto a black prim hovering in the night sky - they might see it easier from far away.    :D

That will be very effective to summon a linden to get it returned!

Wow, that Jira describes the exact condition of my situation. :) Learn something every day! Thx.

For now what you can do is analize the colission to fix that.. but be aware that analizing brings up a bunch of other issues... will have to do a lot of trial and error to get decent colissions after analize.

There's another small mesh bug that sometimes hits me, like on a home with convex hull walls, for instance, where the entire object is inaccessiible upon rez (not a matter of a hole in a convex hull veing solid, of course). That usually solves itself simply by selecting the object. Don't ask me why, but it seems selecting it then forces the server to get (reget?) its physics properties. That is also not the case here, btw, I'm sure, as there was plenty of selecting going on in those images. :)

Thats the bug i am refering to. if you have a linked object that rotates, when it rotates it makes the mesh convex until you select it, then it reverts to the correct colission shape. here is the Jira for that that you mention: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-225742

Why, theoretically, you could be inside the physics of a huge object (like a megaprim for the hills), set to convex hull, and then, because of being inside of it, you wouldn't even see the physics of it show up. :) This is very unlikely, of course, as a mistake of that magnitude would have affected the entire region. And then we'd have heard from other ppl, of course. :)

exactly. i would have noticed right away if that is the case... but yes, it only happens with this specific house. I also checked for a known bug with linked objects rotation messing up the physics, thats not the case neither.

Interesting. :) Maybe it's the physics of a (nearby) hill or otherwise landscape object? Can I come have a look too?

if that was the case it would show on the 2nd picture, but there is no colission being registered there at all, from any object, terrain, etc

I totally agree. It's certainly keeping me interested and it's very exciting to see what comes next.

It's amazing how the continent has grown and changed since 20th August when the regions first came online. I think strongly think the Bellisseria community along with the Moles/Lindens should have a big party to mark it's first anniversary in mid April 2020. Maybe something for this August too.

Took this snapshot when the regions first came online on 20th August 2018

    SSP regions 20th August 2018.PNG

Took this snapshot on 13th June 2019. It seem the continent is expanding in the middle down south.

    13th June 2019.PNG

Look at all those houseboats that yet to come sometime this year or next year. The red circle is the new area and there is no way to go down south in a straight line at the moment.

    The future.PNG

The orange and green area that i was betting would be downtown is gone from SSP. Either a change of plan or they camouflaged it somehow...

Military inspired tactics to hide progress from world map is unlikely but is plausible non the less.

Nope, no "go" button here.   There's an important task towards the end of process of preparing the region for release that I have to perform, but that's more a sign that the final countdown is ready to begin.    There's still a lot to do after I've finished, and a lot the Lindens have to coordinate between different departments, before the regions are actually released.

That's cause its a Go Lever... conspiracy theory.
