lol I still have an over 400 prim pair of studded vampire thigh boots i still wear now and then that i bought in 2007 and no one has been able to make a pair in mesh in any comparison that i have ever seen!

SL is a niche business and I can't see that ever changing it will never be what facebook was it will never have billions of customers, what will happen in years to come will be more and more virtual worlds of one kind or another! If i were to start building one today it would be themed loosly along the lines of the skyrim game not a ripp off but a medieval fantasy world that had the graphics like skyrim it would not be a game but it would have games in it and of course rp currency and users would be able to build etc much like SL maybe with other planets you could port over to with slightly different themes As bandwith and internet speed goes up and becomes cheaper it would be possible to host your own sever at home or in a data center and using the cloud

I find it almost impossible to find full perm mesh items that suit my genre now those that made sculpts as you say many gave up. I make most of my own rather basic mesh now but i am getting clever at using the skills i do have! Organic shaped items tend to have a high land impact, this does not effect clothing and attachment creators and never has, some form of limiting an av's impact should have been set in place a long time ago!

Where is the disclosure to the the non English speaking part of the SL? The second largest number of residents in SL come from Germany and many others in SL don't speak English, if this announcement had been delayed a month or two until there were some facts and it was posted on the blog at least those people would have been able to translate it! A German friend spoke to me about this last night she heard about it on some ones facebook page she knew little about whats happened

LL should remove the section of the wiki that states they pay 10.000L$ then

LL still owe me 10,000L$ from a sec project jira i made about virus infected jpeg on their website the jire was answered very quick saying they would look into it that jpeg and the whole webpage has since been removed but where is my 10,000L$ reward that the wiki says your get? i even said i would donate it to relay of life and the sofie lancaster foundation in sl! It would potentially allow for the user's identity to be comprimised or real life financial issues if left unchecked. Therefore it falls squarely within the SEC bounty It could potentially allow for keyloggers to be installed in the viewer thus potentially opening up the residents real life identity to exposure and could cause the viewer(client) to be remotely monitored or controlled. In essence it could be a highly targeted attack, You are viewing a page about SL, perhaps you have an SL viewer installed. Install malware that looks for common SL Libraries, infect them with keylogger or remote monitor/control software without user consent. Not replying to you as such Pamela just your the last post in the thread Something that has not been said here hardly is about the core reasons SL is not expanding and if LL continue in the current direction even with a new grid it will still fail! Whats wrong with sl as it is, forget the bugs and scalability! SL does not attract new residents that stay! why? I said in a post back some way about the new resident experience being cr*p and it still it it has been fro many years LL need to fix this one thing big time! Many people have had ideas to help sl over the years I myself a while back listed some of my old ideas on this forum! LL need to get more involved in SL and with the residents SL needs some feel good factor how about a weekly raffel paying residents a cash prize (free to enter so it does not break gambling laws) LL need to hold regular events with Lindens attending (remember the snow ball fights) hey LL never did anything last Christmas as far as i know! I have just had another thought what about all the non English speaking residents in SL do they have a clue about this news? Its all very well and talking in this thread but i do believe the German people are the second largest number of people in SL Ebbe wie gut Ihr Deutsch ist?

I have converted some sculpts to mesh and they work fine many full perm sellers have already converted sculpt items to mesh and it can work!

LL are advertising currenty on their website for engineers to do just that!

A lot of sculpts that are rezzed in world and not attachments at the moment tend to have a high land impact if they were converted to mesh, organic type shapes especially but maybe that's due to poor conversion

As far as i can see LL have not anounced anything bar a TPV meeting and some forum posts the first of those on SLU and not on the SL forum, a lot of those at SLU don't even log in to SL now!

A more detailed plan in six months would have been the smart move i think! People can not plan at this time because there are no details just vague comments, LL should have posted this on the Blog with a list of requirements and details The way it is now you just chucked the cat amongst the pigeons and uncertainty and panic has set it I know more than one content creator that is now dumping their regions as i type this! Oculus Rift is not gonna make the next gen in VR worlds, its a gimmick, If LL want to make real cash then something like the sinful robot project and Oculus Rift makes sense^^

Ebbe, Do you know some thing we don't I noticed you have used the word 'competitive' a lot in your posts? As far as i know sl has no competitors, maybe high fidelity but they are not a competitor are they? I don't wan't to wear a brick on my head Since I have not won 80 million on the Euro lotto yet and i did promise my friends if i did i would open 3rd life under the company name of Reliable Lab I am wondering who the potential competitors may be? ^^

Ebbe if you knew anything about me in sl you would know i have no real competition period The only competition i have is with LL over the years trying to break things Like the famous GSA search putting my region and several thousand others out of the search for 3 months a few years ago! Really you cant conceive that this won't effect the sl economy in the coming months?

So no Private regions is a good idea ? I am not interested in mainland i never go there
