  1. Found this online: Lifetime accounts were a special account type that were available from the close of beta until December 22, 2003. A user could buy a lifetime account for $159.95 (later raised to $225) and would be able to enjoy Second Life without paying any monthly fees. What is 225 adjusted for inflation?
  2. bridge has no support, yikes
  3. My guess is they put the WelcomeHub & Motown and all of these random regions together as a package for traffic reasons. It looks great to have it populated, giving off the illusion of popularity and usefulness. If other collaborations happen in the future, they can stamp out WelcomeHub2, 3, 4, 5, etc... and attach the new project to it. Not sure if they're measuring stats, but I'd be interested in seeing how many actual NEW residents are landing here vs current residents.
  4. We're not dumb, we dont need giant naked mannequins to tell us we can buy clothing
  5. that is the ugliest thing ever, why would they add these mannequins
  6. the fact that jarring groundcover isn't in the covenant is annoying
  7. Are we guessing? New CEO, more random perks for Premium Plus, 2048 bellisseria themes, closure of old linden homes FINALLY, mobile app reveal
  8. It's nice, it's like a mini Second Life - minus the adult stuff. Interesting that they made all of the regions with General rating when all of Bellisseria is Moderate.
  9. it's obvious the new theme will have a choice of 1024 or 2048
  10. You can go to all those regions now.
  11. It's looking rustic, judging by the giant wagon wheel here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/WelcomeHubLindenHomes/128/128/2
  12. They're probably giving staff a tour to make sure everyone knows it's now a thing.
  13. To me, ALL content promoted to residents on official Second Life channels is official and approved content. It doesn't matter that an employee, contractor, or a resident made it. It's given the spotlight and it can be fairly commented on by all.
  14. Is Motown copyrighted or are they coming to Second Life and opening a music venue?
  15. I'm boycotting the casino being in Bellisseria
  16. Gift card is not unreasonable for LL either, whenever I get help from a Linden (support ticket), they always ask me if via a survey how to thank the Linden employee who helped me, with a gift card or a long lunch. So on top of pay, the employee also gets incentives/extra thanks on top of that.
  17. A couple of dollars for volunteering would not cause a wave of people to volunteer "for the wrong reasons". It's so far below minimum wage that it's basically the equivalent of a gift card to show appreciation. And appreciation by giving the volunteers access to the programs they're expected to know and show other residents is reasonable. It's uncomfortable for me as a resident and a person that works for a living, to see Linden Lab, a profitable company, use volunteers rather than hire for help. The volunteers can 'opt-out' of getting an incentive if they're feeling altruistic, but from reading the forum, many residents would appreciate something, since they're living on a budget.
  18. Mentors should send those people to contact the c*ck brands, why should they provide customer support too? They shouldn't. Let the brands handle that.
