Our personal account/avatar keys are published and our online status? omg I wonder by saying in profile only to show online status to fiends only if it still shows on that screen? Since the default is to show online to everyone this could be used to stalk people, Find on map. Like a new person is really going to know about this stuff. That should be set to offline for new residents and the key should never be published in public setting.

I don't trust links with site tracking listing ip addresses not to mention storing cookies on external browser for tracking. I'm not intrested in clicking your links. suggestion most operating systems have a screen snip tool that saves images without having to send people out of the forum to "see" what you posted.

Noticed I said several spelling veriations in my original comment regarding this issue. Lets see how many times I get attacked for that concern. Seriously if you do not intend on coming up with solutions as the OPer stated why are you here? Suggestion: as you can probably tell im a horrible speller and my grammar would give any english professional hives. Maybe a spell check underline (like the chat box has) in forums would help reduce future conflicts im just trying to help and maybe as well in the report search field?. That could help spot non official accounts like someone could create a GOVERN0R.LINDEN and the o is a number if someone searched just gov they would not know any better or people can use characters that look like english but are not.

I guess my point is when support advises a resident to report Governor Linden if they do not know whom to report after already reporting Governor.Linden was in practice initially before the advisement, they should prolly advise to report Governor.Linden and not Governor Linden? Maybe something else that needs to be looked into. or at the very least make it clear to report the correct account. For a new person if support says to report Governor.Linden they may see Governor Linden or search Governor and select the first one on the list? What's extra strange is when I search Gov is listed in one search but when I search governor is not included on the other list? hmm wonder why that is? Sure the spelling is not correct as I mention in the first instance of this problem. Not everyone is a great speller and in a panic they could be easily deceived. I guess that's okay..

also when you report Governor Linden from the report person drop down and search there are other Governor Lindens in several spelling variations whom are not Governor Linden. Official Lindens should be top of the list and there cute little verified logo should also be displayed. I'm unsure who or why those were created something else to look into.

People who are pushing these products are likely the ones causing the problems.

That's another scary thing. I'm pretty sure these things can follow residents to places they teleport to as well like a tracker. I've noticed one person on social island follow me to bellisseria. On the mini map they show up on the edge of the region.

This isn't true because the OP stated they are attempting to create content for this world and can not focus on creativity and learning which may turn them off at the idea of going premium. That might be the stragity for those who see the new creator as a threat. Alienate them as much as possible so they go away. I'm premium and I enjoy the non premium sandboxes, I don't like being isloated all the time and feeling like I have to go into a witness protection sandbox to get anything done and have had the same experiences there as well. People rezzing glow things on my work. Roblox is like that and I think that is where the behavior comes from. Building in roblox it's 100 times worse because if you don't lock your work they can destroy it. That's another thing LL will hopefully consider coming up with solutions that protect new creators in official public sandboxes. Sure they can go somewhere else but what's the point of having a public sandbox if they are only being used by people waiting to jump on new residents and cause as much chaos as virtually possible? The answer should be not brushing a serious concern off with the same suggestions used for 18 years that are not working but taking action to correct it as quickly as possible to prevent these things from happening in the future.

My experience happened on social island and as far as I know vehicles are not allowed to rez there? Edit: That was while ago, if someone did that in a non playful way now I would peace out and leave the island. But yah never received permission pop up for anyone trying to put their private part in my avatars face and prolly take a selfie. At the time I considered that playful and I did not report, but i have reported the ones who grab my avatar with them attached to me and fly me around all crazy, one time I dunked them in the sharks on social island cause I didn't know what else to do lol but they kept reattaching after the shark place reteleported us? Another time it was like someone casted a spell on me and sent me off flying saying something your hacked now. That one I reported. Governance would just have to look at the abuse reports filter key words and figure out what are the problems and come up with solutions. Edit Edit: I would not cut scripting off to social island parts because it can happen in non scripted areas as well. Edit Edit Edit... I consider my tolerence threshold maxed out so what I consider playful happening to me could put off new residents and probably get me reported?.

Those concern me too. Anything that pops up saying this will control your avatar and camera and list of other things is a: don't click yes or no cause no can mean yes. Basically delete the pop up it without touching it. For a long time I didn't trust linden and mole created experiences. I have built up trust for those that are vetted. When I first started I didn't understand who the moles were, I thought they were spys so I was always very afraid of anything mole related. lol. As far as 3rd party experiences no way, nope unless there's a linden stamp of approval that will require reverification if the experience is modified. Maybe a built in user experience menu introduced during onboarding. Would you like to be bumped or pushed? Yes or No. Would you like to bump or push others? Yes or No and so on. The following script permissions are allowed to interact with your avatar: list of mesh bodies, and so on. Experience pop up: so and so is attempting to interact with your avatar via scripting allow? Then that would be placed in the permissions list as well as information regarding the scripting such as object/script creator (no of that multipe creator bs) list all creators as well as owner of that object seeking permission. As well as an experience Toolbar button located on the toolbar not hidden in the list of buttons you can add to the tool bar.

I know exactly what you are experiencing. Residents can attach scripted objects to other residents to make them move all over like crazy without being in a sandbox, or shoots your avatar up in in they sky and you lose all control 3000 meters a very slow climb and when you land on the ground they do it again and again, or they attach themselves to you and then go to town moving you around in the sky, or they mess with your chat box where words are missing altered delayed umm. Then you will get an instant message from someone if your lucky after they pretend to care about your public screaming saying I can help you and sends you a pop up to click to "fix" the problem..Even though they caused the problem..after help from a real friend. Sometimes friends do it playfully little puppies following. Those types are cute and welcome. It's almost like the dance pop ups "so and so would like to animate your avatar click yes to animate or no". Assuming something like that is involved but the pop up not popping up because they scripted around it. Some pop ups no may equal yes, so when I get popups I never click yes or no. near the pop up is an envelope I click and select delete. It's bothersome to not know if pop ups are linden sent, or malicious. Maybe something like the lindens have in their profile indicating they are verified but on popups from secondlife and maybe indication that this pop up is not verifed and could be malicious. In those cases should be auto reported and vetted and if changed after being vetted reported and vetted again. I just woke up my brain a bit mush to recall all the things residents can do to other residents in public protected spaces in some cases where scripting is not allowed nor buidling. When learning scripting I came across a rule something like "residents have the full power of scripting as the lindens do and should never be used for evil" something like that. Maybe that power should be limited at the non premium resident level, Maybe the word in script target or key words that involve 2 avatars and common abuse report scripting intel shall not pass unless premium and if they do pass and are malicious flagged and auto abuse report generated? Next time this happens because it will: go to help at top of screen, click abuse at that moment the location information will be captured, and the person to report (because we don't know) would be: Governor Linden. Include a brief summary of the situation.They will investigate. When the abuse report button is pressed it should capture the following for internal research: bumped/moved by resident name, times bumped, active scripts, script owner, and script creator. What is scary is someone can attach themselves to someone else and make it seem like the other person is bumping the person causing the bumping so they can report them and get them banned. Would have to factor that in as well. And then we have the people just waiting to get bumped (likely teams) blocking walk ways so they can report someone for bumping them. "he bumped 5 people" lets all report them yah.. Maybe a solution is you have been bumped would you like to go phantom/non physical to prevent further bumps during this session? or an option to allow avatar to stay phantom/non physical. And reporting Governor Linden for resoluation should not be word of mouth, if someone is attacking you and you don't know who it is there should be I don't know or wording in the report about area advising to report Governor Linden if you are unsure who to report. It's a complicated situation to try to fix. Hope this helps somehow.

Has anyone ever ran into an issue where the UV Map seam shows when viewed at a distance but not up close? I created the UV Map in blender created texture and added it to the object. I upload in world and noticed up close the texture is great but when viewed from like 15 meters away the seam shows? At first it showed white because the png was white beyond the UV parts and was like okay i'll make around the uv parts black thinking the white was over powering the texture and breaking through. After that I had a black seam. I don't think it's second life because in blender I can see it from a distance too. The mesh is max lod, is there a such thing as max texture lod? :(

Besides that madness I would suggest Linden Lab monitor videos on youtube named second life trolling (which are apparently gaining popularity and report them. I saw troll/s go into peoples homes and not leave, one was an elderly lady and I sware she was moments away from having a stroke or heart attack. She had a linden home. Is she still here? Assuming new residents know how to install a security orb (even though included in the content pack) is not enough. I can see it now but there's a notecard explaining... How many new residents understand what a notecard is or where to find it in inventory. But it pops up...click and drag it to the wall...I'm having a flash back on how to unpack or even get anything to rez where i wanted it to (in my meadowbrook home) when I first started. I grew up with gaming and even I was like what the (self censored). I would suggest every parcel pre-secure and if they want it figure out how to disable them they may do so vs leaving installation of security to new residents. I would suggest that to jira but I can already see it closed/unactionable.
