  1. I did some searching, and found some stuff as recent as 2017 concerning how to upload humongous decor and have it actually look right. I will sometime soon be needing to know just how to do this properly, and I have a couple of questions.

1: Considering the fact that I'd be using the same size textures either way, how much does it matter what size my actual model is when I upload it? Does size of the mesh at the time of upload make any noticeable difference in the quality of the final result, like a model imported at full-size vs. a model imported small-scale and then resized?

2: For detailed work at over 64 x 64 meters, does everything still work pretty much the way it did in 2017, or have their been any significant changes as to how to ensure upload quality? Will the info out there still produce optimal results (like using cubes to slice the mesh, etc.)? Or what do people do now that's different?

I realize it's probably silly, but I figured these two questions would be easy for anyone who knows. I know I should probably know all of this already, but I'm used to just uploading things and then blowing them up to scale, so it'd be great to know if that's the worst way of doing it, and what would be better. At least trying to go for best practices here for this one.

I didn't think of that ! thank you Ill give it a go ! is that highlighting the bones then Ctrl A

In Object Mode, select just the mesh (I always do the meshes one at a time if there are more than 1), and look under the Object tab at Apply. It's what Ctrl+A is hotkeyed to. I always apply Rotation and Scale, myself. I like to do that before I even unwrap the UV maps, so they come out nicer.

I would be leery of doing anything like that to the skeleton, unless I had edited the skeleton itself. If I had somehow changed the skeleton any by accident, I wouldn't want to commit any changes to it.

  3. My True Delight of the Day: Someone else made dinner. Normally this means extra work, as they invariably end up asking me to take over, fix things, and make dinner edible.

Today I walked into the kitchen, caught someone making dinner, and actually doing it the way I showed them, instead of experimenting on the food and seeing what happened. They seemed as amazed as I was that it was looking and smelling good, and not like some scene from a movie about Hell.

I'm now having the most pleasant meal that I didn't have to cook by myself in a very long time.

  4. Yeah that's almost as pesky as getting dialogs from security orbs that kick you before you can read them.

I just turn the stream off when I'm out riding around or traveling. It stops all of it. If I want music for exploring cross-sim areas, I just put Youtube on in the background on my desktop.

Upper-right corner of the viewer, little music note thing that becomes a pause button when it's on.

PNG and TGA require you to download the max resolution into memory, and then do extra processing to create a smaller copy, and then delete the original. Repeat this anytime you want to resize the image.

That information just explained something that I've wondered about for many years, thank you, Wulfie.

  6. Being my own best friend? Hmm, well...

When nobody is around I like to get naked and... OH, right, you mean in SL.

When nobody is around I like to rezz as many zombies as our sim's remaining LI will allow, and then hunt them all down again.

Occasional a visitor will show up during this "routine sim maintenance", and either freak out and run away, or ask to join in.

I keep extra AK's handy for the latter instance.

The rest of the time I'm either building or doing other actually responsible things.

Except for when I rezz a big prim dance floor and put Youtube on it and dance on it.

EDIT: Fine, I also like to ride my motorcycle all over my home sim, because it's probably got the worst roads in all of SL, and I like a challenge. Sorry for all the noise, dear residents~!

  7. Delight of the Day: A narcissist finally just being open about their dislike of me, instead of trying to fool me anymore, or repeatedly edging up to it and then backing away again.

Posting this one in advance, still waiting for it to happen. I have faith, though.
