  1. Photoshop Alert: if you import your shots at night into PS for post editing, and your on a Mac, be careful. Since the newer IOS releases, the Macs will go into “Night Mode”, that cuts out the blueish tones and replace with warmer yellow/reds.... problem is that if your up late on a Mac, trying to color balance a ***** or worse screen shootings then bringing into PS, come daytime all your color choices will be wrong and your Picts will look terrible. Simple solution customize timing or remember to turn the feature off every time!!!’
  2. Is it just me, or is anyone else having trouble with their “likes” automatically changing? Weird. 🙃
  3. Kaia... this portrait is simply AMAZING !!!!
  4. Wow...what a difference a year makes! This was my first post in this forum a year ago and today. I happened to find this post working on the 30+ collection! Almost scared me when I came upon it.
  5. OMG ... LOL!!!! I couldn’t agree with you more! Without “likes” or reposts/comments we would be posting in a vacuum and I’m fairly certain that without any feedback, I’d lose interest and feel as if I were talking to a wall... and leave. I sincerely appreciate everyone taking the time to share comments or simply likes. Without that, I’m not sure there would be any sense of community for me. For me... a huge Thank you to Scylla, you are one of the most engaging people on this thread!
  6. I know...right??? I can't really get too much traction on Flickr for my posts that scored well here either. I think this thread is way more intimate and personal than Flickr, and we get to know one another here in a much more familia way. So, I think we root and support each other here that isn't possible on Flickr...?? Would you agree?
  7. As promised.... here is page 1 of this thread (30+) condensed together. @Nostoll 32 @Annika Velde 33 @mQQnie 37 + 2 @Skell Dagger 31+1+1 @ForrestChild 39 + 1
  8. Yeah, agreed on all counts. I think that the people who post here, everyone, should be a little proud of themselves that they've contributed making this a kind of forum destination. Again, yes. I'm even a little puzzled about why one of mine is on the list, as I don't think it's very good. I think a lot of factors, of which "quality" (whatever that means) go into the number of likes. So yes, it's nice that I have two pics on the list (*preen preen*), but, as Sara herself says, it'd be a mistake to read too much into it. I'd especially say that that is true for people who aren't getting 30+ likes: a lot of this is probably also about rewarding regular posters. The other thing that worries me just a teeny bit: with the exception of Skell, most of the "top" posts are of fairly conventional women avatars. I don't think that the men who post here get enough attention, and, equally, those who post as furries or other less traditional avatars. Maybe that's because some of us have a harder time judging them? Or maybe it's just because we tend to be most interested in people who are like us. Completely. And actually, I have seen a lot of newer people posting here recently, which is really great. One of the things I really like about this thread, apart from the lovely pics and the opportunity to be narcissistic, is the sense that this is a really welcoming, non-judgmental place to post. I hope that more people will see that they can put themselves forward here and be welcomed. Yessss. And that includes people who post here knowing that they don't have the technical skills, or the high-end computer, or whatever, to produce really polished pictures. I just like seeing people here, however "good" (again, whatever that means) their pics may or may not be I totally agree with everything you said Scylla. I initially was concerned that using a metric like “likes” was propping some posts over others, and that from a “contest” point-of-view that there would be many who regularly post like Taya (Angelina String, who is a good friend) that for whatever the reason didn’t get a post included. I LOVE her posts and like so many other submissions on this thread and never wanted her or anyone to feel left out. That's why using the likes count kept my personal subjective feelings out of the equation. I agree as well that with the popularity of this thread, breaking the 30+ likes today is much more likely than a year or even 6months ago. If you try to power through from page 2 onwards, it’s nearly 200-300 pages until Jeny’s first 30+ post (not withstanding page 1). Here is her post below...
  9. Thank you Carolina!! It was fun to do, and I also love seeing the post all together in one place.
  10. Sorry Orwar 😐... I was on the lookout for all the core contributors here and I saw so many great post of yours but must have missed it. If you repost it, I’d love to include you.
  11. Hey Guys... I've been preoccupied lately with a crazy self-imposed project that in hindsight, maybe wasn't the best use of my time, yet once I started down the rabbit hole, actually bunny hole...it got the best of me. What am I talking about? Well it started as an off shoot of the Bunny poster and a subsequent posting by @KaiaWang. Let me explain. I was super impressed with Kiais' post and the fact that one of her first posts to the thread received 30 Likes! So that impressed me. For me, back last November I remembered that I also had a post hit 30 as well and it got me wondering, just how many posts have broke the 30 likes mark. Now, I realize that what we all "like" is totally subjective and breaking the 30 mark is a matter of luck, number of viewers (Summer has less engagement then say October), how many followers the thread has etc and so forth. So my curiosity got the best of me and I started going back and back and back... looking to see who and what posts achieved "likes" above 30 in this thread. Suffice to say, I started this only expecting to review or inspect back 25 some odd pages with each page containing 25 posts, however as I kept discovering new posts, I just couldn't do any analysis justice unless I reviewed the entire thread...and I did! OMG, that was a ton of work but it' done. Whew... just a note... I am literally still in process of it all, but wanted to give you guys the some results. So, this first submission is NOT including page #1 where 5 Posts on this page garnered well over 30. Luckly it's rather easy to see those posts for yourselves. Also, those first 5 some odd posts of the thread, in my opinion are outliers (and I'll post them this weekend. Everyone who come to this thread always see's these posts so, like being on page one of a google search there isn't really a level playing field and I decided that they should have there own presentation. There were only 25 posts that hit above the 30 mark out of...drum roll... 17,175 posts! WOW, that is quite an achievement for everyone involved. Please note that there are hundreds and hundred of absolutely amazing work/art presented here in this thread that IMHO should have blown past 30 and didn't, however the only real subjective way to do a project like this was to draw a line in the sand somewhere and so 30 was that number I chose. To give you some perspective what 25 out of 17,175 represents...how about .0014% of all post or one out of 687 posts. PS: I didn't count reposts, which would have been another factor that I wasn't willing to put the effort into. Few more comments; Forgoing our page one gang of 5 ( that I will get to later) @Talligurl led everyone with 33 for one post @Skell Dagger has 4 posts in the 30 +, he also had a 30+ post on page 1. Overall Skell kills it on this forum! @Scylla Rhiadra has 2 posts 30+ @Zeta Vandyke has 2 posts 30+ @Saravendi has 2 posts 30+ @Sagadin has 2 posts 30+ @Jeny Howlett was the first to break 30+ for the entire thread @Forever Night hit 30+ with her first post to the forums @KaiaWang hit 30+ with one of her first posts @Clover Jinx @Kotelle @Roxy Couturier @Ceka Cianci @Coby Foden @Alyona Su @TatianaNikolay @TexangelNoel @CarolinaSchoen I'm including a collage here for you guys to see them curated together. I was originally going to show all the posts in order, however that became a futile endeavor (Ugh!) so, I gave in and just tried to get every entry onto one page. I wanted to keep the poster original post so that means they are wildly different shapes which become very difficult when trying to assemble into something like this. So please forgive me if I messed up..whatever... if I missed you post just LMK, or if I misspelled your name or...just let me know. Iv'e done all of this in the blind without any input, so please shoot me an IM or let me know what you might like to see. I was planning or reposting all of the picts throughout the next week or so. Also, I hope the quality of this poster expands well enough for you guys to see it clearly (the file size is huge). If not, maybe I can email you guys or section it up a bit so it is more legible. Comments... suggestions??? Crossing my fingers that you guys find enjoyment from this 😘 - Sara Best to touch or click the picture in order to view the higher Rez image! I will also say that it will becomes easier to reach the 30’s given now that the overall followers keeps rising and the thread viewership seems to have consistently grown.
  12. Hey guys... tryin to delete a post...ughhh 😡
  13. always had shadows enabled...hummmm... I'm adjusting the WL as set by region and manually, both seem to not fix the problem... Thanks for trying to help!
  14. After my Bunny burn out, I picked myself up and drove to my parents home for more bunny time. Happy Easter everyone! 😘 🐰 ~ S
  15. HELP! I’ve noticed in the last month or so that my viewer experience is very dark, especially indoors and at my linden home. I know... I checked my graphics setting in preferences and all seems normal. I’ve messed with windlight and time of day sliders in settings, and it does shift and change light quality but something is still very off. Is anyone else have this problem? Can someone post basic slider positions in preferences here? This is very frustrating.... errrrrr 🤯 ~ Sara
  16. I love this photo! The hat.. gun...cig...great. Where did you shoot this... kind of looks like EOD club...???
  17. I’ve been spending toooo much time on my computer, with my own work for RL and a project I was working on for the forum. Had to stay off the Mac 🖥 all week to recover. Much better this weekend & I hope to be back next week. Until then my only SL outlet in on my iphone on this forum. Re; the “project”, Maybe I’ll start to unveil it next week... depends upon my recovery. Thank you soooo much for your kind words. They are so appreciated. 😘 to all! ~ S
  18. Scylla- this is brilliant! Love 💕 this photo of you!!!! For me, this is your best work.
  19. I may be a bit bias, but I think this picture is absolutely fabulous!!! Taya looks amazing, great expression, love the plat hair, the white formal and ... the Wings!!! Then the Hollywood diva glasses, omg 😮. Great composition, great juxtaposition (angel, contemporary diva vibe) and the title Last Hurrah... damn right on, the diva angle strutting her bad self maybe for the last time. Sorry guys, I don’t thing this title had anything to do with the 1958 Spencer Tracer movie. This should have been at least 30 likes ❤️ Its why I follow Taya! Yay! ~ Sara
  20. Hi Colleen.... for the poster that I put together it is, however @Orwar is putting together a magazine on another thread.
  21. KI appreciate Tayas support of my efforts putting together the bunny poster. It is true, and she is right, I did feel a bit pushed aside once the whirlwind regarding the book started to take shape, and especially being omitted from the original post and story of how this thing started. I kind of had the significant role in its evolution. Anyway, that said, it was never ever my intention to own anything or get anything other then my personal enjoyment in giving our community another way to engage with each other and a fresh way for us to see ourselves as a super creative community. I think that the bunny poster worked because it was spontaneous and organic in its nature. Zeta, Taya and Alice posts... I post the four of us... another jumps in and off it went. I just finished everyone today at 32!!! I never expected it to grow like that... we drew out some outliers and newbies that rarely post and that helps threads grow and thrive. The important thing is that it seemed like everyone enjoyed the process and their inclusion into the community. Yes Orwar, I did support your & Zenns idea and I think that if you guys can dedicate the time, it could be an awesome project. My only concern is that after a while it might become more & more work, like a job and demanding of our time and when that happens, the fun starts to fade fast and it can fall apart quickly. My intention moving forward (prior to this project) was to organically feel out the desires from the thread... it seemed like the Superhero thing was bubbling up and I thought i might run with that if that felt fun for the group. However, now I’m not sure how to move forward? Zenn- thanks for the inclusion. I’ll help where I can... the poster thing is definitely a fun project for me to do, so just let me know. Lastly, I’d love for this to become super successful, but for me... not at the expense of “hows does you avatar look today” thread. That’s still where you’ll find me hanging out. ~ Sara
  22. Sorry for spamming the thread...just had to say to Nastasha... cool Superhero! I Love it .... who is this? I mean Superhero wise? Are you Nastasha Girl?
  23. Thank you Zeta for starting the trend, Taya for the inspiration, Maddy and Skell for making it fun, and everyone else for having fun with this! Happy Easter..... bunny
  24. I think everyone is wonderful, but I think Maddy is my personal fav!!! I mean a pitch fork AND ladybug slippers!
