There is too much here for me to read it all, so please forgive me if I repeat what others have said.

I tried Jamie. I was somewhat disappointed, considering the time and effort that have gone into these avatars. The avatar itself was just OK. I would have expected a simplified, intuitive HUD for the body with limited functionality instead of no HUD. I tried the tank top, shorts, and jeans. The tank fit well and needed no alpha mask. The jeans fit poorly and definitely needed one. The shorts were knee-length. The underwear was awful; it was solid plain white completely lacking any details.  The hair was quite disappointing. There was no makeup. The default shape was not one that I thought was attractive, but was easily improved (by someone with many years' experience in SL) enough to be OK. The names of the various items were not descriptive at all.

One change that could be made easily, quickly, and at low cost that would make this avatar friendlier to new users would be to give all items descriptive names, e.g., "Red Tank Top," "Very Pale Skin," "Tall Thin Shape." Another is to include multiple descriptively-named shapes. It's much easier for a new user to choose a shape from among several offerings than it is to learn to edit shapes. And, please, do something about the ugly underwear. Another is to include instructions. Probably the best way would be to have a NC Named "READ ME FIRST" that contained a link to a short online video.

If technically feasible, it would be worth considering providing a number of pre-made outfits. Even if outfit folders couldn't be used, almost the same functionality could be achieved with regular folders containing links. That would make it much easier for new people to put an avatar together.

The Avatar is still in Beta, and if you have any ideas to improve the avatar. I would put in a Jira. That being said, why do you want a HUD for the Senra Avatars?

by the retro way they dress they want to appear 130 years older...

I may be trans, but before I came out. I hated having facial hair, I realized that women were right. When they said beards were too scratchy.

And it is My Pet Peeve.

It is and your pet peeves aside, you comparing creators and consumers alike buying into Lelus EVOX UV and the Jonestown Massacre. It's wrong on so many levels, the fact that you are taking something like the Jonestown Massacre(in which 918 people died that day) to something so trivial and small as you not being able to use things. Is absolutely disgusting and is doing a great disservice to the victims of that day. Those two instances are not comparable whatsoever.

Certainly! It's their choice, doesn't mean I have to find it attractive.

Back on topic: Do NUX have a full beard option? BONUS: It would hide a lot of the face!

Never said you did. I can imagine later on in the future they introduce that, and maybe some creators will rig mesh beards for the senra avatar.

I did ask they stared they wont because of a partnership with *Introducer of propritary AO* and i stand by my analogy because it is poison for the compatibility we have enjoyed in Secondlife untill now

Your feelings and opinions are valid, and I totally sympathize with you. But I can say for certain, that creators will make for what is big, especially if it means they use their profits, to provide for themselves and their families. That being said, I think the best thing to do now. Is to learn how to draw and make textures and maybe try your hand at creating content like that for SL.

It could be just me, but I get tired of every RL male who is apparently in the "Gen Z" having a full beard.

    It's less creepy than pornstaches.

But still - a full beard hides a man's face and makes him look unnecessarily older.

I mean maybe these men, want to appear as a little older. I think that is okay. There are some men who just want to shave it off, some men who just enjoy a little bit of facia hair, and some men who love a full beard and mustache experience. I really don't see an issue with that.

The issue is i bought a Fantasy Tatoo set the designer of it made it to work with a Eye shadow form a another shop who unfortunately drank the *Proprietary UV* cool aid like a Jonestown cultist   here is the picture of the ad with creative clipping to see what exactly i am looking for and part of the Tattoo set it is to go with as well as what it looks like on my prefured Skinset so you can understand why i dont want change (monetary considerations aside))

Maybe message the creator, and politely ask her if there is a possibility to add an SLUV version as well. But I wouldn't call creators making for the Lel EVOX part of a cult, I think they are just going where the money is. Especially if they use SL as a means to pay for their RL bills and stuff.

The head is the Catwa HDPRO MajerSoft whish i chose because i liked the shape of i also like the hud and found it the least confusing the skin is :[P]: & []TRAP[] - Atharia Skin (F) - Shizuko

Both do not use *Proprietary UV* and finding good quality Fantasy skns is a war without worrying my about does this support this UV or that

anger came while looking for makeup and finding some i liked and it being for *proprietary UV* only only than going to MP to see if i can find something even remotely the same  to find that everything made in the last year and a half not supporting what i own in favor of a Vendor locked System

As far as buying something else it wont be happening and I wont be buying any *propratary UV* anything ever because i will not support vendor lock in its the bane of the real world IT industry and it would be sad if it became a more common in SL also i highly doubt even with a the *proprietary UV* head you could use a proprietary makeup BOM with a SL Standard Skin

and is far as it having a higher definition there are some extremely talented artists who do some amazing things with the old uv (the "spots under the eyes on my skin for example) so I have a hard time being convinced that it effects anything other than the ears.

Scylla up above very eloquently put my issues in a fantastic post thank you for finding the words i was far far to frustrated to convey.

I don't disagree with you that there are some high quality artists in SL. But I mean have you tried Nuve, for makeups. I know they make for catwa hd pro.

I love the Lelutka EvoX heads because they let me choose between EvoX skins or my older SLUV skins. Genus skins work pretty well on Lelutka EvoX heads, so I often use older Genus or Lelutka Evolution based fantasy skins. It's easy enough to find good natural skin tones, but really nice fantasy tones are rare. I don't want to toss the ones I have and love.

I do too. This is why I like heads like that, they let you use their head-specific UVs or classic SLUVs. Which as you said, you are less likely having to toss all those Ls you spent down the drain.

its not Support its not choice it's lock in  i understand you like what you get but to people who recently bought stuff that has be dumped its infuriating my choice has been take away the skin i adore which by the way is highly detalded aand was not cheep would be unusable if i moved just so i can use new make up their is absolutely no reason i should change my avatar or not be-able to buy makeup for what i have PERIOD

What head do you wear? And what skin is that?  that being said, I am sorry you had to go through and dump a lot of stuff. But you can still wear classic sl uv on all mesh heads. Also EVOx gives you a choice in the HUD where you get to go back to the Classic SLUV. So i don't see why you have to throw it all away.

people who want to tell me my pet peeves are wrong

I wasn't saying you were wrong, I was just contesting your opinion.  That was it. But that being said, from the whole misunderstanding from the Senra body fiasco. Any sign that creators really don't have that much control of their creations, due to strict standards. Would make them validly mad.

I get what you are saying and from a consumer POV, you are correct. From a business POV, not so much.

In this day and age businesses tend to think the consumer doesn't know what they want and end up trying to force new things which loses customers. That's just as wrong as any other underhanded sales tactic.

As a consumer, I want choice and variation. Which Lel EVOx gives me. I can choose between the Standard SLUV and the EVOx UV.

Oh wearing a "typer" attachment is different, I sometimes wear one that has floating candles in a pentagram and arcane hand movements. Those can be fun true.

I just use the one that is built in my ao, it feels more natural than some of the typers you can get or the one that is built in to SL.

There are some cool typing animations that don't look like the default typing animations.  I only turn those on when chatting with more than one person at home usually.   I also have sock.puppets I got years ago that only appear when talking in local.  Great fun!

What I mean is I turn off the invisible keyboard animation and sound, in the settings in the viewer.

Yeah it'ss not the language used, it's the "must gesturebate in EVERY line of chat" and the bloody awful deliberately disstorted sound effectss and chat spamming muulti line unicode 'art'.

You do NOT need a 5 lines of chat gesture with 30 seconds of sound effects to say "hi".

    It's headache inducing. Lol

The point I intended was that he doesn't do it because you are in that club, but because you are logged in at a place where he is.

He'd do the same if he saw you in a shoe shop, or sailing on the Blake Sea.

There was a guy just like him loitering in the Moon Elixir Muse store last year for a couple of days, leather jeans, a guitar that played random soft rock, and IMing women who came to buy lingerie while lurking near them (especially when they were trying demos).

A friend AR'd him and sent an FYI to the store owner and he stopped showing up.

    Ahh Okay, I get you.

You don't but just for some long winded and slow typing people it is best to have it on so other people who you are speaking, know that you have more to say.

That is subjective, depends on the person. I really don't like it, so I keep it off. While others may not mind it or even like it, and keep it on.

  17. Just now, Arielle Popstar said:

But to activate those you'd have to actually type in local which you seem to object to as that would be socializing where everyone can hear?

I do type in local, but the animation and sound effect drives me bonkers. However, I type in local with people I know. Why do I have to keep it on?

  18. 1 minute ago, Arielle Popstar said:

But if you aren't intending to type to anyone, why would you be worried about turning off typing animations?

Why would I want the system looking typing animations that make me look like I am typing on an invisible keyboard? I hate that animation, I think it just looks ridiculous.

  19. Just now, Zalificent Corvinus said:

    LOL Fixed that for you!

I mean I don't know what clubs you went to, but this was the only club that I had those type of issues. I am not dismissing your issues. But it was literally just this club that this person also frequented.

  20. There was this one club, that I loved. But this one person would make me feel uncomfortable. It is LGBTQ-friendly, but one person would think they could just randomly RP grope you, without seeing if you were okay with it. I would go there to enjoy the music and the people since I am pretty close with a lot of the staff there. And this one person would totally ruin the experience and IM me emoting getting all touchy-feely with me.  And when I confronted them the first time, they got mad. Like somehow I came to a club where this was natural and this person didn't need my consent whatsoever.

Maybe it's not that avatars are anti-social but there are just a lot more rude, obnoxious, self-centered people in both worlds in general.

It also depends on the environment too, depending on where you go and how it's labeled. You can kinda tell what the place is gonna be like, especially if you read the description.

  22. Just now, Zalificent Corvinus said:

And then there are the "absolute morons". There was one  I remember from these forums a few years back, claimed some place he'd been to, one of those "boring shopping and chatting and dancing places with no combat", was obviously filled with afk avatars because:

He'd cammed over from the other side of the region, and NOBODY's avatar was playing the typing animation, so OBVIOUSLY they weren't talking, and none of them were running about and trying to kill each other so AFK and harming SL.

    /me shrugs

And people wonder why I enjoy loitering on my build platform, messing with things, and taking the occasional snapshot.

I turn off the vanilla typing animations, I hate seeing my avatar pantomiming typing on a keyboard and I usually use the one that comes with my AO. And a lot of times, when I am going shopping. I am not going there to interact, I am going in grabbing the stuff I want and getting out.
