  2. Orca Flotta wrote: Yeah, Tricky Boucher is regarded as one of the best skin makers by many bloggeristas. Obviously for some reason. I loved my Belleza skin for a while but became tired of the very dark complexion of mine. Am now more than happy with [the skinnery] skins...But the shape was much too tall, had much to much bust and the knees were a bit knocked, aka x-legs. So I totally modded that shape and ended up with a much too big head. So I started modding the face as well and now there's nothing reminding of the original expensive shape left anymore but the fat lips. :smileyhappy: I wanted a medium skintone, not tan but not pale. The "sunkissed" ones at Belleza were exactly that for me. I will keep the skinnery skins in mind when I go skin hunting again. I may have been there but I don't remember (I went to so many places). As far as modifying my shape, I can't even begin to tell you how much time I spent doing that LOL. I tried a few differnet template shapes before I found one that I liked then spent a long time tweeking it.
  3. My opinion for a regular human avie: 1. AO (costumized/individualized with smooth transitions) 2. hair 3. clothes (including formal wear incase you want to go to a ballroom) 4. shoes (high quality ones with color changing HUDs are ideal) 5. mesh realistic feet (nice to have if you like going to beaches) 6. a modifiable shape 7. a high quality skin 8. different makeup/cosmetic tattoos 9. accessories like jewelry (always fun to have) 10. nails (different colors) 11. eyelashes
  4. For male avatars, I have seen very good ones at Redgrave, Evian and Laqroki
  5. I know exactly what you are talking about and right now rigged mesh hair would be something to look into at this point. --||-
  6. Hi Timmy, Is your avatar larger than the Large or Extra Large standard sizes for mesh? The standard size requirements are: Woman Large: Body Fat: 24 Torso Muscle: 48 Breast Size: 71 Love Handles: 39 Belly size: 14 Leg muscle: 69 Butt Size: 62 Saddle Bags: 45 Men:Large Body Fat: 13 Belly Size: 9 Torso Muscle: 72 Love Handles: 35 Leg Muscle: 76 Butt Size: 65 Saddle Bags: 49 Package: 49 Pectorals: 10 Men-Extra Large Body Fat: 22 Belly Size: 14 Torso Muscle: 88 Love Handles: 42 Leg Muscle: 85 Butt Size: 73 Saddle Bags: 56 Package: 56 Pectorals: 1 If they are, then you're out of luck unless a creator comes up with a new generation of mesh clothing. If you are not too much different from the above sizes, then you could tweak your shape to fit the requirements mentioned above just to get into the clothes that are available now as long as they are properly made to fit standard sizing. For more size requirements, see link & scroll down: https://bloggingsecondlife.wordpress.com/the-stores-creators-lists/mesh-stores-using-standard-sizing/ Good luck & happy shopping

In addition, he is not very good with the viewer so he just leaves things the way they are because he can't be bothered trying to learn how to use all of the features. For example, he doesn't wear all of his alphas (mainly because he has difficulty finding items in his inventory or he does not know how to add instead of wear). He also did not know how to save outfits let alone put them together properly on his avatar. The best part is, he is NOT new to SL. Perhaps this guy is just playing stupid because he enjoys the attention you're giving him. ...Dres Hi Dres, That is probably correct LOL & I assume you are a guy so you should know better than me :matte-motes-big-grin:
  8. Amethyst Jetaime wrote: Skifija also has a perfect skin matching system for many of the popular brands of skin. It's a tad bit more complicated than GOS but if you can follow directions you won't have any issues. The shoes are as nice as GOS IMO but less expensive and if you join their group you get a substantial discount in the in world store I've always been very happy with the shoes I've gotten from there and had no issue matching the foot to my skin. A lot of the models have an option with a texture and color change HUD so you can match both shoes and nails to any outfit perfectly. Most of their mesh shoes have feet separate from the shoes (they come with the shoes so you don't have to buy them separately) so you just have to match one set of feet and can wear them with different mesh shoes from there. They also have a set of feet you can buy that allows you wear stockings with their mesh shoes. They come with a variety of stocking styles and sheerness, but I have also been able to wear a lot of my other stockings with them too. Hi Amethyst, I added Skifija to my list, thank you so much for the recommendation and I will be checking it out today. Skin matching is not so much an issue for me as that space which is between the shoe/foot and ankle/leg. So, I'm on a mission to find brands that have a seemless look. I actually found a pair of shoes at Redgrave that blend very well in that area (Unlike the ones you see in the pics that I posted). thanks again & if you know of more in the future, please let me know Lori:matte-motes-big-grin:
  9. LOL, I have to laugh at your rant. You covered so many issues that should be considered by users who want to look like regular humans. I have a male friend who I try to help but he gets impatient and frustrated with shopping. Newbies have an excuse. It takes time to get your avatar to look a certain way unless you have a more experienced person helping you. At first Newbies think they look ok until they start to see other people, then little by little they improve. I recently helped another new person and within a few hours, they looked like they were there for years. But he was willing to fix up his avatar and he had some lindens to work with. It doesn't even take alot of lindens to look good. For example, Vista Animations has a very good basic AO for just 1L & it can be edited. Blackburns has some decent men's shoes for also just 1L, etc.

I usually try demos 95% of the time but I just grabbed these because I was happy that it had a hud with about 8 different color selections for the shoes & naills. From now on I'm trying demos 100% of the time. I will look into GOS, thank you for the recommendation. Hi Lori, You won't be disappointed but you may find yourself with a huge shoe fetish If you join the GOS Boutique group you'll get a 10% credit for every pair you buy (make sure to always wear the group tag when purchasing), also you'll find some exclusive deals from time to time. Have fun shopping there x Hi Summer I went to GOS to check it out and you are basically going to get me in trouble, LOL. However, I'm already a SL shopping addict and now GOS has been added to my list. Thank you so much for the recommendation. Happy Shopping:matte-motes-big-grin:
  11. I tried everything Venus, the shoe just isn't working. I'm moving onto GOS & if you have anymore recommendations for shoes that fit better, please let me know. Thank you

  13. Hi Venus, Ok LOL, I actually tried a different alpha from another shoe, moved the shoe around, resized, & tried to color match better. See results below, it's not perfect but I think it's better. I'll still try to play around with it but I have a feeling these are not going to work out for me. When I zoom out, I also see a gap but that could just be my viewer. What do you think?
  14. Thank you for checking out my post, this is a pic of what it looks like. I tried moving the shoe and resizing (plus a combination of both). I even tried a sock layer. Any other suggestions? thanks
  15. Hi Everyone, I bought shoes with feet in them and the area around the ankle has this blurry part that is almost transparent & it appears choppy. I was able to match the skin tone but I can still see this issue around my ankle. Sorry if I don't have a pic but do you know what I mean? Is there a term for this feature on shoes? I tried resizing the shoe & moving the shoe up/down. Any other suggestions on how to make this less noticeable? thank you EDIT: I posted a pic, see below
  16. I went on a skin hunt for about a week and tried skin demos from over 25 different stores. I found my favorite one at Belleza. They have a section where you can get a single skin for about 600 lindens. Forget about skins that are makeup fat packs. You can get tons of makeup tattoo layers from various stores for about 5-30L It's best to invest in one good skin (In my case it was Belleza) with a pale makeup option & buy makeup layers. This way you can wear a combo of different makeup looks for less money. Unless you want the fat packs with makeup looks. As far as shapes are concerned. Find a free shape that is modifiable. It seems that there is a limited about of shape templates because I noticed that I purchased one awhile ago & it was the same as a free one I found. So, it's better to search for a free shape & modify it to your liking. You also may need to modify it in order to fit into mesh clothes. so, overall I recommend Belleza, my favorite skin there is Elle. Happy shopping:matte-motes-smitten:
