  1. I have some I can add again. When netflix and chill really means netflix and chill. Sometimes, I just want to watch something and chill. Some people don't get that. In the past, it has lead to some very awkward moments, but then, I'm an awkward person by nature too. It's not just a guy/girl thing either. Even some of my female friends just don't get the desire to generally chill out and watch something, not focusing on anything else going on in life, just shutting my brain off and watching something. I love my friends dearly, but, we aren't always the same in how we think, lmao. So, anyway, chilling and netflixing, is lots of fun. Also, days off, even if they are for not the best reason. We had a half day Friday and will have no school on at least Monday, maybe Tuesday too. It's because there's no heat in our building and some damage needs repaired, but I'll take a long weekend. Sometimes I need an extra day or two off, and so do the students. I'm sure it's not all that fun for parents, though. I'm glad we have policies in place that ensure we don't have to make up calamity days later in the year, as has been done in the past. The puppy I've been sitting has been an absolute terror-joy too. I was only supposed to have the pup for a couple of weeks, but it looks like the little guy will be here for a bit longer. Derp absolutely loves him, the feeling is, as far as I can tell, mutual, lmao. They tear through this house like no one's business and tend to crash about the same time from sheer exhaustion too. Plus Derp is teaching the little guy all kinds of things, like how to ring the bell and making me let him out to go potty when he really doesn't actually have to. He just really likes bells. He's getting a little better about this, not a whole lot, but he's not quite 3 months old yet.
  2. Nope, but I don't attend any in rl either. I do have the day off, but it has nothing to do with the day, as we don't usually have that day off. We only have it off because there's no heat in our building and there is some repair work needed because of the storm.
  3. What search terms are you actually using, and how are you searching for them, including which viewer you're using? That might be a better first step if you want assistance finding places. In my viewer, firestorm, I don't use websearch and never have. Instead, what I do is open my little search button, which I conveniently placed in my lower toolbar (I use FS with the phoenix skin, aka "mode", as it's what I'm most used to). Then in the search I have different tabs, web, which I don't use, people, places, groups, etc. I go do the places tab, type in what I am looking for and voila, there are tons of places. It sorts, I believe by default but I might be wrong and it might be what I set it to myself, based on traffic. Traffic isn't a great indicator of current people there, but it can give some idea of how often people frequent it. It's still not a criteria I use (traffic) but can be useful for some. Also I make sure I have my preferences set in the upper corner of my search box to general, moderate and adult. Allowing adult doesn't mean you're going to just get a bunch of smut places, either, unless that's what you want. Even lots of stores are on adult sims. If I want club, I can type in club, tons of places. If I want rock club, type that in, tons of places. If I want to go to a garden, beach, go surf, visit an amusement park, it's all there. If I click on one, the little image pops into the side there, and a short description. I can then look at it on the map, with the button, which tells me how many avatars are there right now, or I can teleport if I want. Just remember that even if there are 40+ avatars there, it doesn't mean all or even any of them are engaging in local social behaviors. Your search is only limited by the terms you use. You might need to either broaden or get more specific with them, it depends on how you're doing things. I don't know what you're searching for, how you're searching for it, or what you're looking for. I think what you're asking for is a little bit muddled by either your own confusion as to what you want to find, or just maybe it's not coming across clearly in your posts. A whole list of possibilities is already there, but asking for a list of every possible place you can tp into right now right at your fingertips is a pretty broad ask. That's like asking for a list of what every single person on the planet is doing right this very second, perhaps possible, but pretty improbable. Don't use the destination guide (the page or inworld version) to find people. You can find regions (sims) or parcels, sure using the categories there, but you're not really likely to find a lot of people. If you want to use the map, open it up, scroll way out so you can see a large chunk or even all of it, find a place that has a lot of dots, see if you can tp in. Maybe you can,. maybe you can't. Maybe you end up in an afk sex dungeon, maybe you end up in a smurf factory, who knows.
  4. Yes, the default being on is stupid, but we've always been able to change it. I'm pretty sure that's probably their justification for having it on by default. At least it's always been an easy fix, though.
  5. Might be an obvious answer, might not, but have you tried picking it up and putting it back out again? I know it's the turn it off and back on again solution, but it usually works. I have a game table that had a similar issue for a short while. It was due to other stuff on the land at the time, and not really my table, but re-rezzing it worked in the meantime.
  6. No one has ever been able to just add to your feed without you turning that option on/off as you wish. So no, no one could ever just add nasty stuff without you letting them do so. You have complete control over your feed, always have. The photo to feed option is broken and has been for years for lots of people, on and off. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, without much explanation or solving of whatever the actual problem is from LL. I doubt it's a priority to fix it now. It definitely wasn't back in 2014, either.
  7. If one doesn't mind some commercials, 181 (used heavily, all over sl, especially the heart), now has many of their station links right on their page so that people can put them into their own players, or even in sl streams. They didn't have the actual links for quite a long time, but they were easily found just inspecting, so now they have a bunch of the most used ones listed. https://www.181.fm/
  8. I went grocery shopping, not a fun task, but a pet delight all the same. It's mostly a pet delight because other than two days of work this week, I have not left my house. I also haven't logged into sl at all, for the same reasons I didn't want to leave my house. It's something, and I'll take it.
  9. Please don't quote me if you're going to self-advertise and/or fib, thanks. Bold is my addition. Ftr, I know Muddy's, quite well. I worked there, even left on a good note. There are plenty of reasons why many never return though. Most of which, I already stated. I had a lot more to say, but, I'd like to keep within the rules of the forum.
  10. This week's delights were quite surprising and unexpected. The first one is seeing the thread still going, I appreciate all of your delights, immensely! No matter how big or small, a delight is a delight and I'm glad they're here! My second delight is something I received as a gift three years ago. It's a very special ornament. It is engraved with a name, a date, and has the heartbeat recording of a little life that never got to be. I've never hung that ornament up. In fact, I've only taken it out of the box three times since I got it. I did not appreciate it when I got it, probably for obvious reasons. I've never been adult enough to deal with the weight it carries since then, either. I'm still not, I might never be, but I decided I would try. So I did. It stayed on my tree for three days and I listened to it a couple of times before it got packed back away. It doesn't sound like much, but that's a whole lot of progress I wasn't expecting from myself. That's the delight part, I'm delighted I managed, even if my reaction is still anger. I'm also delighted that I've put it away. I have a whole year to decide if I want to take it back out again. I'm not very good with the holidays. I shut completely down until the winter break is over, which is what I'm going to do. I just wanted to read others' delights and figured I'd share one while I'm here. I hope everyone has a good week, whether you celebrate holidays or not. If you're celebrating for New Year, please be safe, make good choices, and enjoy your celebrations! If you're not, have a good week anyway, just because you should!
  11. Today's pet delight, I am puppy sitting for a friend for a few weeks. Derp is enjoying the companion, and I am enjoying watching derp enjoy the companion. This is exactly what my heart of hearts needed today, truly some warm fuzzies in all their barking, running, tearing things apart, chewing, jumping, and slobbering glory. I've already found a toy in a shoe and nearly closed a pupper in a closet, lmao.
  12. Today's pet delight, is friends. Not just any friends though, the best kind who know you need them even when you don't know you need them. It's a particularly rough anniversary, and a generally rough time of year for me anyway. My struggles are magnified and more than a bit of an issue-which could be a peeve, but it's not, because that's just life now isn't it? They just always know exactly what I need, even when I don't know what I need. They're very good at filling in the blanks I don't know exist. Also, no school tomorrow, which means no worries tonight, and someone sent me this. I've seen it before, but it's just as hilarious today as it's always been. The answer is yes, yes we do.
  13. This morning's pet delight, I slept in until 9 today. Granted, I didn't go to bed until after 4, but it still counts! Today I have some Christmasy sort of things to go do and see later. I also need to go to the store. I already changed the oil in my car so that's done. I might take her through the car wash while I'm out, just for fun, she's looking a little on the dirty side.
  14. I hope there is no lasting damage where you are from the storm, and everyone is safe and sound!
  15. Oh they do, not this particular flavor with any amount of regularity that I know of though. They may not make this flavor at all anymore, for all I know. This is just one of the ones in my random snack box leftover from who knows when. My snack box has a lot of random stuff in it, lmao. This kind came in a pack that had mango powder with a tamarind, I think, stick too.
  16. Time for today's pet delights, and while I am at it, thank you for indulging my need for pet delights, despite how unreasonable it may be to demand positivity. I'm a very unreasonable person, anyone who knows me will tell you this. Just don't ever get me drunk or leave yourself alone in a room with me if positivity isn't your bag, because I will shamelessly dump an entire planet's worth on you, without consent, and expect you to take it all. My friends have, on more than one occasion, threatened to make me ride in the trunk, or sleep in a closet. I've been left on a porch or two before as well. Now, on to today's pet delights. Duck Game, FTW! Also, limp and lifeless mode, because oh boy, 2+ hours of tryin to get through this level, lmao. Also Because, duh, candy, and delicious candy at that! I have other pet delights, but they aren't sl forums friendly. It has been a lovely weekend, my favorite kind. The night, however, is not yet over, neither is the weekend. I'm killing time while I wait for slow pokes.
  17. This thread should always be at the top! The world needs more warm fuzzies and delights. Some more of this week's pet delights, let me see here. I got a bunch of new supplies for my room, including some much needed art supplies, new manipulatives, some organizing things we need badly, a few games. I also got a new box of really awesome books like The Juice Box Bully, Enemy Pie, The Squirrels who Squabbled, Caterpillar Summer, We all Belong, The Big Umbrella, Each Kindness, a new copy of The Giving Tree (I believe mine was involuntarily rehomed), How to Heal a Broken Wing, oh my a whole bunch of books. I think it's around 25 or 30, I honestly don't remember. I'm looking forward to using them this year and all the years to come. I had chili in my slow cooker all day while I was working and it was finished before I even got home. Nothing beats a good bowl of chili and some yummy warm cornbread on a cold day. Now I can freeze at least half of it for another day. I got the rest of my inside Christmas decorations up, all my Christmas cards printed out and got them in the mail before I left this morning. Got my car loaded up with my might not be necessary but also might winter gear, because you never know! Oh I got the cutest Christmas card I've ever seen from a really good friend. It's a picture of their son, bless his sweet little chonky self, he finally figured out how to sit on his own and he just looks like a busted can of biscuits, lmao. What else, let's see, it's been a pretty good week. I haven't really logged in lately, but I've been a bit busy. I plan to log in at some point and get my sl Christmas decor in full swing too. That will be a delight when I get around to it. My basketball team won their first game. It's just a recreation type league but they're having fun and that's what matters. I wasn't supposed to coach but their coach can't this year, so, this is a new adventure. That's all I can think of for now, I'll be back with more. When I come back I want to see more delights, I know you have them!
  18. Christmas card photos! Minus the dragon irl, lmao. Does it get more pet-delightful? It's a good thing derp loves me, lmao, puts up with all my shenanigans like a boss.
  19. My new pet delight for today is adjustable plans, lmao. Most of my winter and winter adjacent lesson plans are really flexible, because it's winter and winter does what winter wants to do. We have a snow day here, no school. It's a bit more than blustery, roads are grim looking still. There's only a toe over a foot of snow, but it's not yet finished. It's usually the temps and road conditions that determine closures here though, not snowfall. It's a good day to be inside with warm stuff.
  20. Pet delights for this week We got snow, I like the snow and so does derp. We'll get a lot more tonight and probably through Wednesday too. It's super cold and windy right now, about 18 degrees, and my furnace is doing its job. Look at me putting my newly gained skill of fixing a furnace to work. I like when things do what they're supposed to do. I'll be able to get some very much needed supplies for my classroom soon and replenish what we've already torn through. Who knew first graders were the human equivalent of the Tasmanian devil with supplies? Oh, I know who knew, I did. Except, I miscalculated somewhere along the way, and we've used double what I planned for including extras. That's a total me fail, but we had fun doing it, while learning, and that's what counts. I've only been doing this for 4 years. I figure I have a good 30 or so years before I'm done experimenting with what works and what doesn't, by then I'll be a pro at it. Until then, the pet delight is that we'll have replenished supplies. Also I've found some new things and ideas to incorporate this year. Hopes and dreams they all pan out nicely, I believe they will. Tomorrow we're making pomanders, but they aren't going home until Thursday so the classroom is going to smell amazing for a few days. I had to grab the rest of the supplies for that earlier. My fridge looks like I robbed a citrus stand. We're making butter and will be baking our little friendship loaves on Thursday to go with it. We'll make the dough Wednesday so it's ready by morning. Next week, it's stone soup, except in the end we make actual soup, lmao. We're just doing all the things, and I love it!
  21. I don't think new names will get anywhere near the same circulation as old legacy names, because these ones cost people real money. That's probably why they haven't added to them the same way. If they have some arbitrary number they intend to retire a new last name, it's pretty doubtful most will hit it. I have no desire to change my last name, even if it was resident. I wouldn't pay the money to change it because I think it's a stupid idea to pay at all, but the price now is ridiculously high for no reason.
  22. The Djs are the ones playing the music, not the club owner. They are usually the ones people are there to support. If a club owner wants the benefit of having visitors, they need to work at creating an environment that people want to be at. I used to go to clubs a lot more, but these days the atmosphere is just not nearly as fun as it once was. Between the gesturbating, all too frequently annoying people, dead silence in local, or terrible lag in poorly designed areas (sometimes full of afk people) it can be too much. Yes you can fix some, but sometimes it's not worth the effort. I'd rather support some Djs and live artists from afar while I get other stuff done. I can still tip and support them just fine without being there. There is nothing at all impolite about that. It's silly to assume that it's impolite to not visit a place you don't want to be at. Give me a reason to be there, and I will, so will plenty of others. It's why some clubs do so well. Give people a reason to want to listen from elsewhere, and they will. Tough job for a club owner, most definitely, as clubs are complete money pits 99% of the time. The same can be said about any landowner that wants traffic though. Give people a reason to be there, they will.
  23. Go to a place and listen to their music. If you like it, click on about land (just up top on my version of fs, your viewer may vary). Look under I believe it is the sound tab, I'm not inworld atm. There you will find the url for the music on the land. Even if you can't modify it, you can always copy it to clipboard, paste it into a nc for yourself and name it something you'll remember. Then you can have a running list of them. You don't even have to stay, you can just land, take url, move on, lol. Just remember that you may not always like the music at every club during every set. Some clubs, especially the slightly more popular rock ones, tend to play a lot of the same bands and same songs day in and day out. I won't name which clubs because that seems rather rude of me and tastes differ, but, just letting you know in advance, don't be surprised if it happens. That's why having a good list is helpful, get bored, change the url. You can even save the list to a .txt file for yourself and put the urls in a media player to listen when not logged in.
  24. It's sunny out today, it's only 46 and pretty windy, but it's sunny. I went wandering earlier and found a family of minks and some very young snappers, so cute. Derp found some more golf balls and one tennis ball to add to the collection. We're gonna need a bigger tote. We only have two days of school this week. I fully intend to not use my long weekend wisely. I have a whole bunch of caramel apple bites in the oven and it smells amazing.
  25. I appreciate your post, a lot. I've read it a couple of times now, and I completely agree. My whole post was triggered not so much by negativity and stupidity around me, as much as it was in my own head and some realizations I came to. On Friday I had to do something that was monumentally difficult (technically didn't have to, but, for self-preservation measures, had to), and for reasons no one needs, I had to do it by myself. Being by myself made it a million times worse. One of the hardest things I have ever done in my entire life. What I expected to get out of it, I did not, in fact, the opposite. Nearly everything since Friday my brain has decided to turn into an annoyance, a peeve if you will. That made me focus more on other things that have bothered me, or will bother me, and things I have coming up that will undoubtedly bother me on an even greater level. Maddening, every thought process I'd had since Friday, utterly maddening. All it took was one tiny annoyance (a cart, literally a cart with a bum wheel) after Friday's experience and the levy just shattered into a million pieces. So I choose to let those things be whatever they want to be, but I am locking feeling annoyed completely out. Little annoyances build up too easily and then it becomes insanely easier to find them anywhere, in anything, without even realizing you're doing it. One thing bugs you, and it will not just open the door, but rip it off the hinges. I had a pipe leak earlier today, rather than be annoyed, I shut off the water, got to fixing it, had it repaired, water back on and mess cleaned up in less than an hour and a half (bad valve). Before, that would be an hours long project, probably a lot of expletives, most likely a headache at the end and I'd still be annoyed even after it was done, lol. I like this way better, so far. And, I can't take it back, so, there's that.
