  1. Hi Mortalum! so far i've met a mixture of people. and a lot of them are really, really nice i have friends that i build with and work on other things together, some that we just kinda chat, some that we sorta stay in touch but don't really talk, some that we go exploring to see pretty sims, some that like mostly to just play games (actual games, not mind games), and some that are ... well ... eccentric? some of my friends are neighbors and some i don't actually 'see' very often, but chat with regularly like you, i've met a few that were focused more on ... umm ... non-pg activities (and i am a pg sort of av), some that just want to be given lindens, a couple that simply weren't very nice ...but also a lot of people who were very, very nice but just not into the same things that i am. there really are lots and lots of nice people in sl, and there are just plain lots and lots and lots of people in sl period. it's just taking you a while to weed out the chaff maybe it is just a lot like rl, when you move to a new town it can take quite a bit of time to build a solid circle of friends where you feel at home. oh, and i have one or two pet peeves with secondlife when i really think about it but i also have lots of fun and have many, many things i really enjoy about secondlife ... otherwise, i wouldn't be here. i don't know if i am really nice but i always try to be. **huggs**
  2. I have only had experiences with requests for help with land through support tickets, but those have been very good. I file a support ticket and get a response in a few days, always really nice.
  3. Nice! Maybe that should be on the main SL page
  4. I don't know if it was a result of the ticket i submitted or the automated process kicking in (described here, http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Merchants/Update-Valentine-s-Day-Downtime/m-p/1385261#M15642) but I began seeing the transactions actually completing about 10 minutes after i submitted my ticket about 1.5 hours ago. Yay! Crosses fingers for other merchants who had lots of transactions in limbo.
  5. many have the same problem as you and there are a few threads out there now with ongoing discussions. This is one: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Merchants/Explanation-is-due/td-p/1383939 I have the same issue, but just for 3 transactions. the products were delivered but i received no lindens. i am small-time so for me it was just a matter of about 150L. however, i would caution against asking your customers to pay you directly until LL tells us what they plan to do with those 'Being Delivered' transactions that are in limbo right now. you may be asking the customers to pay twice for your product: the first time (LL has the L$), the second time paying you manually. that may offend them. in fact, for "good customer service" policy, i would not ask the customers for that money regardless what happens. instead, i would submit a ticket to LL with the details of the transactions where you were not paid and request that they pay your account what you are due. it's not the customer's fault. many or most of the customers have already paid, its just that LL hasn't paid the merchants the L$ that they are due.
  6. so my question would be how much money do merchants lose now, from failed deliveries, angry customers, marketplace failures, etc. and when a merchant does not have an inworld store now and the marketplace fails, they have few options, so with a long-term view, which really costs more, selling with a tool that has regular failures and frequently angers customers, some of whom blame the merchants or selling in world with a predictable cost of tier.
  7. what if this marketplace was changed to work that way, or what if merchants and customers changed to use it that way? it is a good tool for finding things, just (apparently) really bad when it comes to transactions and deliveries. aside from the events of yesterday, i constantly see partial delivery failures in my customer's purchases when they use the shopping cart. i see a disconnect in the time between messages from my magic box and messages from the marketplace. and when i shop myself, the speed of delivery is not dependable. if i can't plan to spend a couple of hours in world at least, i try not to buy things from the marketplace. the only thing left to pay for would be enhancements, for those that wanted them.
  8. maybe that's the best way ... vote with feet, er, fingers. was thinking, maybe we just need a markeplace web site where no L$ changes hand on the marketplace. all the pics, descriptions, info is there, just not the L$ transactions, but WITH precise slurl direclty to product/place to purchase in world, no general slurls. wouldn't that make it more fun inworld?
  9. i does seem very slow!! but i was thinking since couple weeks ago.

    MP Down??

Yep. thinking that the lindens from my previous sales might be a loss (my perspective) or free profit (Linden's). I just had a new purchase go through and i received those lindens. if there was a backlog of transactions, and we were just waiting for them to go through the queue, i would think that i would see the lindens from the previous sales before the new one that just went through.

    MP Down??

I don't know how it can be called resolved. I just took a look at my transaction history again. I show 3 transactions in the 'Being Delivered' state, my magic box sent me 3 messages saying that product was delivered 3 times. and, as others have experienced, i received no lindens. i have received lindens from inworld purchases though.

    MP Down??

gosh! i didn't realize that was happening. so lindens are being deducted from customers' accounts, not getting the product, and lindens not going into merchants' account ... so lindens are staying with LL? wonders how much lindens LL gets that way. oh, makes me very sad.

    MP Down??

    MP Down??

I just got an email from the Xstreet magic box that one of my items was delivered, but it doesn't say to whom ... and ... I'm not showing any lindens added to my account and my marketplace transaction history hasn't changed either.

I can get into the marketplace now, but I still have 3 customer purchases in the "Being Delivered" state.
  18. spent several hours exploring the gardens, fell in love with the region :) there's tons to see. i was actually looking for landscaping and got distracted exploring :) ... put it in my blog too (the tourist: alirium gardens).
  19. i totally understand the uglies. my way of dealing with it has been to control my draw distance when ugly things are off in distance and use big draw distance only in pretty places.
  20. prolly silly, but i most like the idea of changing ground textures ... and i have seen those prims off private regions, i forgot about that ... that is really neat
  21. heehee! late too, me! :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:

  23. owning a private region, or renting on a private region, looks lot more expensive than similar on mainland. are there benefits to being on a private region? i thought the benefit had to do with lag and having privacy but there is check box in my options for basically hiding from the rest of the world ... and so far, the private regions i visit seem to be about the same lag wise as the mainland places i visit. i was looking at how much it would cost to buy a private region and its about a THIRD more than mainland for tier cost. so ... what are the reasons for going private region??
  24. me too right above yours. i'd seen the post that it was a duplicate topic and reposted here.
