    The only Official source was the Google Play Store. It is no longer there. The application Developer has not updated their website since that time, no update has been released anywhere else.

    There is no need whatsoever for a Linden to weigh in on this and the "official source" already weighed in - by not releasing their work elsewhere or providing any updates.

    that's the risk people take every day using apk from various sites.  if in doubt, don't do it.

     

    but definitely right: you have no idea what's in any apk file downloaded from such sites, and if it's not in the TPV , you use at your own perol.  I got lumiya when it *was* on google play and have used it on every device since.

    Edit: The viewer itself doesn't even have a BoM update, so I don't get why would they sell it now. When BoM avatars look messed up on it.

    i use it to this day, as do many others, even thought it's gone from the google store

    It works 100% fine as a chat client over wifi or mobile data, but just don't expect to be dancing in a conga line.

    for me, when I'm out traveling and i see someone who's profile looks as though they've made an effort, I'll slow down and just try a silly approach like "hi there, do you have the timetable for the no 37 bus to runcorn please?"

     

    Met some good people this way, others have just stood there scratching their heads.

    I asked this early doors yesterday as a question for the land group meeting, the update given wasn't very detailed, but they did state it's still in development, and will focus primarily on chat (at first), IOS app first, android afterwards.

     

    Should point out that I bugged, erm, pestered, uhm, asked the Lindens early doors as it had come up a lot in various group chats, so it was good that even though info is still scant, we got a confirmation that the apps are in development.

    Nothing to be secretive about, but for many people SL is a private part of their lives in general.  Just as you may choose to maintain your RL privacy in SL (as I do), it would make for weird talk at the coffee machine "hey burpy how many noobs did you trick into falling 3000m into the water last night".

    you type your request in the live chat window, then you get a spammed response from boxy "read this, read that, read the other, do this, do that, do a rain dance" then you get asked "does this help click yes or no", you click "no", "do you want to talk to a support agent yes or no".

     

    I think that, if I'm using Live Chat, the idea is that I want, or need, to talk to a support agent for help, not play clicky clicky with the spam bot :(

    For a change, a grumbling thread by me.

     

    Of late in live chat with support, a bot is in use called Boxy3000

     

    Quite frankly, it's nothing but spam you get from it when you make a request in live chat,and I don't know about anyone else but this is REALLY starting to get up my nose.

     

    Linden Lab, I daresay you have your reasons for trialing it, but surely enough is enough?

    Anyone else had enough of it? Hoping if we get enough responses here, we might be able to get them to reconsider it's use.

    My SL Persona is more like the real me, than the real me actually is.

     

    In RL we have a lot of pressures to conform, when I log into SL I can goof off as I wish, with my partner in crime Dicky.

     

    In SL I can walk down the street in just my underpants whenever I feel like it, in RL I'm sick of trying to explain to the Judge it's just my "freedom of expression"

    at the risk of being unpopular, Bagnu isn't a "victim", the impression I get is they are merely trying to bypass the advertising regulations to flount their "trade".

     

    I've done my part, alerted Governance, blocked any future posts from appearing, and now I'm off to enjoy a beer and hopefully some comical posts to laugh at.
