    Yes, and it sucks.

I mostly use copy items so I just remove the no copy ones and abandon the land. If I'm moving to a new house of the same theme, I rez the bundle on edit and place in the right position for insta decorating. If not, just delete from the lost and found folder 😉

So the top photo is on theme but the roof that was returned is not? I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. I can't imagine that LL wants something like the photo above all over Newbrooke and isn't allowing a very tastefully done roof to be an add-on.  I feel like some people will be pushing the envelope just to see how much they can get away with just out of spite.

Flat roofs = on theme. I haven't said anything about that picture. Something can be on theme and not be to your taste.

Moles and Lindens are busy and don't see all the add-ons people use. Usually the things that get returned are returned because they were ARed by other residents.

Im using the Faraday and doing an eco roof with a balcony... lets see!

The Gatewood was ma first choice but sadly, no back door...

I also think the doors should come with the house pack, so we could choose using them or not.

You can build a garden roof or a terrace on the roof. Roofs have to remain flat though to stay on theme.

I would love the smaller 512 homes on the 1024 lots even more if they permitted use of the full 1024 Li allowance. We all know that won't happen since a 512 on a 1024 lot frees up a lot of prims that I'm sure have been calculated/approximated for use elsewhere.   But who woudn't love the cute little home loaded with the 1024's full space and full prim allowance?     *happy dance time!*

On the 1024, you get 8 house models, both the 1024 and the 512 houses. So you can use a big house or one of the smaller ones if you prefer more garden. If you use a 512 house on 1024 land, you get the 351 prims allowed. You only get 175 prims if it's a 512 land.

Chalets never made it for me. They might be what some Americans think of as chalets but being Swiss I can tell you they're nothing like chalets. To me, they look like old 1880s houses in the Alsace region of France or in some areas of Germany. Definitely not what Europeans (or Swiss people) understand with chalet.

As for Newbrooke, I admit I've just seen pictures of those houses and not the reveal inworld so I can't really judge. What actually disappointed me on some pictures was the proximity of the houses. I felt like in a LA or Sydney suburd where you could basically shake hands with your neighbour through open windows 😕

The chalets are modeled after an American town called Helen in Georgia, not after European homes. This was explained at the preview and it has been repeated several times after.

Cuz it's not even a crappy contest.  It's a sales gimmick disguised as a crappy contest.  You have to be a Premium member to be a Belli citizen.  A PAYING Premium member.  It's just a way to incentivize people to open up their wallets for things that ultimately don't even exist, instead of going to buy some groceries.

You don't have to be a premium member to collect candies. The contest is open to all: premium accounts and free ones, and nobody is forcing you to participate.

  7. There are over 100 Bellisseria groups created by users. A few are private, but most are public. You can join any of those or create your own. Nobody makes you join a group you don't want to join, also you can leave any groups if you are not happy with them. Don't like a group, leave, create your own with the rules you want. As easy as that. No need to flame other groups. There's more than enough drama around to add to it.

About the Bellisseria Citizens group: I belong to that group, and love it, but you don't have to. If you don't like it, you can leave. If you stay you have to follow the rules, like you would have to in any other place or group. I am chatty, and I like helping people whenever I can, in that group or any other group I belong to, so you can often see me in chat. Chat is open to everybody, and you won't get in trouble as long as you follow the rules. The rules are there to prevent drama. Rules would not be needed if we were "perfect". Sadly this is not so. We are human and very much imperfect. Gingir created the group. It's her group, her rules, and it should be so. As I said before, you can create your own group with the rules you want. ;)

There are many people in  the Bellisseria Citizens group who love Bellisseria and do or try to do many things for the community, create many events, and help in many events created by others. Bellisseria is amazing and has made most of us love Second Life even more.

One last thing, the insult is the weapon of the weak who can't argue or defend their points without being mean.

Um, no.  Grumpity (SORRY!!!) is very senior and has a breadth of experience in a variety of industries and leadership positions to which Patch (SORRY!!!) cannot yet aspire.  He comes out of a customer service background.  He's done EXCELLENT work, and is indeed responsible for much growth.  He has been rewarded with a VP position, an excellent advance.  Incidentally, in his former role, I believe he reported to Grumpity.

If you've ever listened to interviews with her, she is very knowledgeable about the BUSINESS of LL, as well as about the product.

But this is moot speculation.  No executives are going anywhere at the moment, lol.

    A few things...

First, using the real names of @Grumpity Linden and @Patch Linden here, as @Natzuka Miliandrovic already pointed out, wasn't right and it was totally unnecessary.

Second, you can speak well of someone without having to put anybody else down. I'm pretty sure @Grumpity Linden has done plenty of things for which she should be praised, and there was no need for your derogatory comment about @Patch Linden when even  you recognised he has done EXCELLENT work.

Third, it is true that @Patch Linden has a background in customer service, but he has also worked as a director in the past and has a background in product and management, and to my knowledge he has never reported to @Grumpity Linden (somebody correct me if I am wrong).

It is times like this when we should stand together and support each other. It's too early to panic.

    Group hug?

(Thank you for coming to my TED Talk 😉)

Edited to delete the names. I can't believe I forgot to do that! 🤦‍♀️

Well this is worrying news, and it does make sense that Sansar was offloaded first. That thing was like an albatross around LL's neck.

I guess for now I'll just "wait and see". Will the coming months see Linden staff laid off, or hired?  My two premium accounts are due for renewal in October and November and whether I renew them or not will depend on what's been going on there. If they've been laying off staff then I have no hope for SL lasting another year, so there will be no point throwing away another $198 (plus VAT) on it.

I don't think we'll just wake up one day to an announcement of SL's closure. There will be signs before then; whether the recent development of SL is continued or not, whether changes are put on hold, whether anything new is being developed. @Maitimo mentioned Bellisseria; I think that will be a good indicator too. If they stop releasing more homes that will be a good indication that they are doing nothing more than keeping the grid in tick-over mode until they can offload it to someone else.

@Patch Linden @Derrick Linden @Whitney Linden @Abnor Mole @Squeaky Mole and many, many others are still working in regions in Bellisseria, and releases are happening, granted, not as often as before because they had to concentrate in the SL17B celebrations, and because they also needed a rest after so much work (they are humans after all). I'm sure many regions will be released during the summer months, and we are getting the stilt houses later in the year!

There's nothing wrong in getting financial support for Linden Labs as long as it is done right.  I'm sure Ebbe and the rest of the team had major discussions with the Waterfield Group of how they have certain visions for Second Life and they want to continue to keep it the way they have it.  Until you see a blog post about Second Life or Linden Labs going into a different direction continue on and have fun on Second Life.  Don't say Second Life is dying or Second Life is dead.  Right now they are continuing to improve and to develop more fun ways to make the virtual platform better for the community.  They brought back the last names,  making new linden homes, they're working converting the vritual world to the cloud servers so more regions can be added.  Have fun on SL and don't worry.  Don't forget, they just celebrated the Anniversary of Second Life and it was a huge hit.  Happy Anniversary Second Life!

    So much this! Thank you!

Second Life has survived many things and will do it again. Change is hard, but so it's growing up.

More and more people log on every day. Bellisseria (thank  you @Patch Linden and the rest of the team) has made Second Life much more attractive to people who didn't know Second Life before, and many old timers are coming back.

Also, everything that is happening in rl right now has increased the number of people interested in working and living here. It's true that there are not as many educators in SL as there used to be, but that is changing. Educators are coming back. I am a teacher and I have been to plenty of conferences and other educational events here. Universities have schools here and more are created each day.

Let's just wait and see, there will be time to panic (if we have to) later.

    Happy Anniversary Second Life!

Have you seen that the house controllers have different numbers?

Does this mean... we can select the numbers?! O.M.G. If not, what does the numbers stand for, are they just random?

And it is no indoor controller. I have not seen any. Does this one control everything?

Those are the house numbers. We won't get street names (yet?), but we are getting numbers.

I think the only one I don't see pictured in this thread yet is the Tortuga.  To me this one feels like a yacht club!

All of them have quite nice decks.  Here's the Lauderdale from the back, complete with an Alotta :)

The Santiago feels the most like a regular family home, to me.  Its deck is more modest.  I think this is the model Patch used in his hint pics.

Great pictures! but that's Notta Mole, not Alotta Mole 😉

  13. @Patch Linden

I don't usually comment on the forums because things tend to get out of hand rather kickly, but...

I've been to many events for the SL16B celebrations and seen the tipjars for the performers there. I don't think of them as business, but as a way of thanking somebody for entertaining us, and I think they should be allowed. That's the reason why I didn't see anything wrong with that tipjar at the Fairground celebrations. The Fairgrounds were given to us by the amazing Moles and Lindens to help us celebrate the amazing community Bellisseria is. There is no obligation to tip anybody, but you have that option if you want to use it. I must confess that I tip performers even if they do not have a tipjar, and if there is a tipjar out you can see how much money has been donated, so I find them useful.

Residents cannot set up a business on their land, no matter if said business is on the ground or 4.000 metres up in the sky, and I think we all understand this, or we should. The Fairgrounds are not resident owned, they belong to the Lindens, and they should be able to create any rules for them that they deem necessary. The only problem here, I think, it was one of miscommunication, Bellisseria and the Fairgrounds are pretty new, mistakes can be made, and are made, because nobody is perfect, and nobody is out to get you...

I, for once, would love it if I never had to think 'This is the reason why we can't have nice things.' ever again.

    Hugs.
