  1. If the appliers are only omega,  then you would need to install omega on the demos of the heads, as it is not active in demos, I am not 100% sure on other heads, but LeLutka that is how it would work. What you could also do if not wanting to outlay the funds is perhaps ask a friend or group member of the heads if anyone is willing to try the demos of the skins on so you can see. Possibly try skins that have appliers for the head types themselves as they all differ slightly and omega will not always give you the best look of the look available.

and what's the problem with stacking? Thats a feature for wearing more than the standard attachement points. and add gives the solution to the naked problem... so wear can be deleted.

You can only attach 38 items including your huds, there are more than enough wear attach points, there is nothing wrong with adding if necessary, say two necklaces so that they both go to chest. But to decide that wear is obsolete, that everyone should only add is incorrect and it is what is teaching newer people to misuse the tools provided, because when they do end up naked, or cannot see things as Callum mentioned they have no idea why, because they don't understand the system as it is.
When someone creates an item pants, top, shoes, they should not leave them to right hand, it is lazy, it should be attached to lower leg, or pelvis or spine etc. That is why those attachment points exist, adding is not giving people some magic overriding ability to hack the system, you still only have 38 points. Also knowing that if more than one thing is attached to the spine for instance that you can move it if rigged mesh because rigged will always be to the skeleton is stuff people need to know. Right click add for huds is good because they are usually lined up in a particular way, but clothing and attachements, to say never use wear is not a thing...it is possibly your preference but not something all should be encouraged to do.

Add however makes you happy, but no vote for removing wear as an option, wear is important, it is also intuitive to newer people, oh I click wear because I want to wear them, it would be a rare thing to have a new resident go for add only and then not understand they have to remove their other items and how to do so, again it is adding complication, it is great when you know stuff, not so great when you are learning.

think you used "wear" ? .. the AO is replaced with the pants.

It would be welcome LL removes that option from the menu's it's confusing and not very relevant anymore.

To put clothes or any other wearables to your avatar use "add".

Add just stacks things and is the whole issue with why creators leave everything to right hand and using wear makes you naked. Wear is a valuable option, you should be wearing to specified attachment points and know full well where things are attached, just adding everrything also means you have to detach things already there, not going to add hair, then have to detach the hair I am already wearing, especially if I cannot grab it and have to find it in inventory or worn just to remove it.... hair should be attached to skull, so wearing another should also detach to skull not take off my pants like earlier today.

If you wear something and realise again it has been left to default, take the few seconds to attach to the correct place and it won't happen again.

  4. No, logs only contain information from when you are logged in and if you choose the options to save them, if you are the owner of the group and you want to monitor it, then you can consider having an account you keep logged in to keep track.

  5. As said above, the groups and the like are only relating to made by them, uploaded by them and usually sold by them. So that it cancelled out the template sellers etc, it was something that started with Slocca, when it was harder for the people that were learning and creating mesh content to compete with these perfect items sellers when mesh was in its infancy.

As far as wanting original design, you will find very limited numbers of the kind of artists and imaginarians it would take to create shops full of original content in that way. If someone was able to create truly unique and stunning footwear for instance, we would hope they would take that gift to RL and make hundreds of dollars a shoe not lindens, the same with original designs of clothing etc. Architecture is also very complicated training and even carpenters and people that work with real tools etc, often replicate something already existing. Someone wants an armoir other than again being an artist, there are only so many ways to produce something viable for the customer. I used to sell handmade furniture, the truly creative pieces sat there, the generic based off of years of sameness rolled off the floor.

As also stated things that visually 'work' are what people want and while it is a fine line with copyright and so on, they also want the status or recognisability that goes with things being identical to RL. If I want to kit out a laundry in my home I want things that look like proper washing machine and dryer, instantly recognisable as such. If someone forms an SL rock band, while I am completely without any knowledge in that area, a musician or a fan of music is not going to want to put some silly imagined amp on their stage with kooky looking instruments, they are going to want to rock out with the best and even have the ooos and aaaaahs of the people that know, impressed that they are using ___________ guitars or _________ keyboards.

I believe in enhancing very much so, when I see a replication of a dress for instance I do often wonder why that strap was not moved, or removed, or why that wasn't done ten different ways to make it not the same as that dress in vogue, but the creator wanted it to be that dress in vogue, wanted the customers they create for to be able to feel as special in SL as they may never get to in RL in that dress from Vogue.

I love the creative geniuses we have in SL especially the artwork it is why my RL tote bags and my RL doona cover are both adorned with artwork by Nylon Pinkney YAY For Society 6 making that possible.

Original content is only ever going to mean made by, not designed by, because unfortunately if truly a work of the creators imagination, the masses will never know unless it is very well communicated and unfortunately more so, it would then encourage some to seek out as much as they could to disprove it.

ADDED: about the shoes, even shoes are replications of other peoples designs, a maryjane style shoe by Louboutin is not his design, maryjanes as a style are older than him making footwear, he just made his version. Most fashion comes back every twenty years, balloon skirts were around decades before we thought we invented them in the 80's :D

My 'mother' once teleported me to a platform above the family hangout. She had rezzed a TV, and we watched a couple of movies - after a while I asked what all the prims were, as she had a bunch of them standing around with letters and numbers on them. Apparently, that was her process of sorting, watch movies and just pop the stuff in prims for storage. Me, at the time, having something like 2,000 items, didn't see the point. Her pointing out that she had several times more shoes than my entire inventory space... Well. I was so traumatized by the experience that I've ran a tight inventory ever since!

4 pairs is more than enough, for me! ... Although Neph does have quite a few more than that, already.

I started my SL sorting on a roof too, and then almost got kicked off the sim having no idea that I had accidentally rezzed an earring that was 100 prims and left it there, it was back when you rezzed all items to unpack, which I still do, but it was so small i did not see it to know to clean it up. I was so mortified that I had done something wrong, but also really freaked out at how angry this sim owner got, but a hundred prims was like gold back then. Also yes double monitor for the win, play something on one sort on the other. My issue is I get really nostalgic, its like cleaning your bedroom as a teenage girl, you have to try all the hairstyles and do your make up and yeah where does the day go :P

He's discovered hunts. lol  Though, he will go through and try everything on, then throw out what he doesn't like.  He knows the atheistic he's going for and tries to stay in that genre.  Unlike me, who buys stuff "because it's so pretty". lol

smart move, I remember when I used to actually take time to sort mine, so many methods, realising separating by type instead of designers was a bad move early on lol and so pretty is good, I tend to also buy because they made the effort to make it, Mel says I shop like I am tipping people for good work...sometimes I cannot help it, people in SL are incredibly talented ♥

I'm pretty sure I bought almost everything in the store when Last Call closed - loved their dresses.

As you go through your old stuff, if you are thinking of ditching things specific to a system avatar (vs a mesh body), and if the texture of a piece of system clothing looks acceptable, toss it in a folder to save for trying when BOM comes.

Last Call was the stuff I got rid of, and Dazzle (older Last Call) I was desperate for time for testing products, I had to get into the beta viewer, I had no time to box, and so many pieces to items to throw it all in one would have been a disaster. I had to tell Whimsy after I made her sit down, she was furious at me, but now is gloating with Bom coming lol she has like 200K more items than me and yet is able to log into the beta, so was Baracuda suiting all over the place the other day. So inventory does not only seem to be the cause, they are keeping out the Aussies :P ok maybe not, because I did log in an alt to see, and she got in but she has no inventory so what is the point..sniffles

Eerily close, actually. 5,821. I've got some inventory sorting to do on her though so that may drop a little as a couple of notecards, landmarks and unpacked unpacking scripts (swears like a sailor) hits the bin.

That is just mean, what is the point of having a female alt if not to over indulge in the shopping area because you cannot in the male account (j/k) but still :P do better

Yeah, let me know how that works out for you.  Personally, I've decided mine will never be sorted. The best I can do is not let it get worse and maybe gain a bit of ground each week.

When Bento was coming I could not get on the grid at all with SL viewer had to delete over 80K the sacrifices were real, and now BOM and I am like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO come backkkkkkk lol

  11. Your look, did it comprise of custom pieces? As said above, unless you are the creator they did not steal anything from you, they styled themselves the same, and even without a copying device anyone can do that within minutes these days if you are full mesh, the only thing would be skins etc but a snapshot and the right group to ask, that would be known in minutes also. On top of that you saying you spent 400 dollars on it, as in 100,000 lindens is a stretch, and I would be upset with the person that charged you that not a botter. Did this person tell you they botted you? Or you just saw your look on MP...is there a chance the 400 dollar person just flat out bought your look from a copybotter so they could pass it to you. Now I am super curious, also...why four years later does this look matter, in four years we now have bento, more options of skins, greater mesh etc, for 20kL you could have many looks and style yourself this time. Not trying to undermine your rage on this, but as a blogger for 12+ years, often head to toe replication is the point, if i did a post and went out and saw my clone next day, I would be so excited someone liked my style. My friends shape got copybotted by one of the MP people that used to bot bloggers and designers and name them who they were, my friend almost threw a parade, to her she just got famous. LL will never act on this, unless you are the creator and file a dmca, and they shouldn't, they have enough to do. Let it go, find a new base look, and build on it, empower yourself, they had to mimic, you wore it best.

  12. still sorting inventory, this may take until 2020 as far as outfits go I only have 63 usually they only exist when something happens in the middle of setting up a pic, and wanting to make sure I don't lose track, or because I decide to go shopping and want to go back to the outfit. As far as inventory though.....

I am sad Fishy Strawberry closed up - The Tutu

I am excited for BOM to come, I think Sn@tch (the top ) is going to become an overnight bazillionaire lol

loving this old Lamb Hair 2013

Hairpiece is old MiaMai another designer lost over the years :( inventory sorting can end up depressing.

Strange.  The biggest need I have is my own memory.  It doesn't take me long to get confused and start talking to myself, quite literally.

I was once setting up at an event and had two logged in and started arguing with myself for giggles, it was very entertaining.

  14. Hi Prokofy, I was sure I mentioned using google myself, always do, have not used a translator in world for years. Fully understand things don't have to be free, mentioned that, also well aware how logging into sl from a pc onthe internet translates to having some kind of financial resource, but I mentioned she was very new, like possibly just entered SL our sim is in the library, so she may have been minutes old. I was just loathe to say (but did link her to mp) welcome to SL, now buy something you may not understand, with the money you may not yet have, and will not be able to top up for 30 days if you spend it all. I linked her to a Russian help group, did my google stuff, and wished her best of luck. It was an observation on wondering why no real tools for that, like maybe logging people into hubs that are geared towards them...just random thoughts. Also as you know, no timeline on MP there should be something to say, this is highest seller, but doesn't work now, and unfortnately most that buy don't realise they can review and indicate item is not as advertised etc.

I think it is amazing that you can do what you can, I also love that SL is so multicultural. I was just looking for suggestions of something that people know do work, never said people should not get payed for their work, whatever that may be. I think most of your comment was frustration overall though, so I get that. Google for me is easy, I use two monitors, so I can still keep track of in world.

Thank you for taking time to reply, I learned a lot about locations to send people to, next Russian I meet, I will be all on that 😊

I didn't know this when I first came to SL and it was very bad.

Depending on how new to SL you are, tping out of anything is not usually the first thing to come to mind, so I can relate. I once lag walked behind a Jevn vendor (those things were often oversized) and it was diagonally across a corner of a castle (still have issues with this memory that I remember that 12 years on lol ) and I was unable to get out of this confined sky high corner, kept trying to turn around, to get back through the crack that had let me through in the first place, the whole time getting more and more anxious, and then on top I got motion sick so badly I had to log out and lay down lol this is hysterical to write, but getting trapped in anything has a reaction of being trapped. No one is going to assume that it doesn't actually trap you, unless you are more gamer type savvy I guess.

I remember the tools earlier than Mysti I think, they were an ear piece you wore to communicate on other channels, and also had things like a jail you could rez onto people and so on, many sim owners used to do that to people they decided may be trouble, or just to be nasty. I can see all that having been reason people left SL.

Yes.  In the "old days" before about 2015, we had several reasonably good free in-world translators.  Babbler was perhaps the most popular one.  They used a free Google API that accessed an early version of what has become Google Translate today. I believe it was about 2015 that Google decided to remove the API and develop their own tool.  Microsoft did a similar thing through Bing at the same time, so free in-world translation disappeared in SL.  You can buy fairly inexpensive translators in Marketplace today.

Thank you :) for me no problem, but this was a new person I was trying to help, and pointing towards unknown cost items, was a bit tricky, that was what made me wonder about having something included, again I understand it is peoples business, but seems like a big gap in helping get more people involved in SL she was on my sim, for her to find her way to Russian speakers was going to be a jump without knowing we even have Marketplace or groups that go with so many themes, hopefully I sent her in the right direction.
