  1. You are welcome when you start off with your image in PS at say 1024 when making the texture in FF or just making it in FF then you can alter the size/pixels of the filter to be as fine as you may want it, that may work with the step you need, i did an example here of a creepy looking texture starting at 1024 and ending up down all the way to 32 but the size of the texture did not change I hope that helps, it has so many options. I chose that texture as it was easier to see in the gif :)

  2. As Lindal said If you are sent a link to an item by a creator in a notice for instance that is in their native language it changes your language settings, and while the ad may be so basic you do not notice it, it then filters through to the emails, it is annoying to have to keep going back and forth, but yes the top left of the marketplace page language drop down put it back to English and it will fix it, it should not be something that can change by just opening a link. I wish they would let us choose our settings of language as a locked in thing.

  3. There are groups you can join that give you notice sending rights that have larger followings than you may have with your own newer store or just to reach people that want fewer groups with more information. Try checking the profiles of other stores you are bound to come across them.

I did not name names, because I am not sure of the rules on that, as I............ la la la

Hey all .... looking for some good MESH clothing/hair shops (cute/sexy/casual clothes and for hair long ones/styled/straight/curly etc..) ....if anyone knows some good ones feel free to leave suggestions ...that's all I'm asking for nothing else :)

If you wear a mesh body then you will find items listed usually for that brand of body on their websites perhaps, that should narrow that down, you could also try some of the hundreds of fashion blogs see something you like go find its location, hair fair just ended I hope you attended that, if not you can find a list of many stores on the website and you will find what you asked about in their styles they did for that event, plus the styles they have in their store. Try searching Flickr as well for the body you wear if you do wear one, if you are not using a body then standard sizing has tapered off but you did not give any indication either way. cute sexy and casual can be the same item or all separate...again maybe try any of the dozens of events on right now and you will find at least 20+ items in each that would fit your criteria loosely just need to narrow that down but again you could use those as jumping off points to find stores that interest you.

  5. When groups started charging fees and promising gifts because of those fees there was no reason for lucky chairs to exist, it was also that a lot of newer creators came along and they did not grow up with them as an item, because they emulated the larger brands that did not ever have them, it started to become a thing again as a means to not do the group thing, but also they tapered off when people go angry with store owners for not changing the items in them regularly enough to feel that visiting over and over again was a need, and with the traffic rules changing yes, it all went hand in hand.

Sn@tch is a fishing game, you fish for each piece of a set, I have never done it and I did notice recently she is now selling the sets from previous rounds, but I know a lot of people as mentioned in here met a lot of longtime friends from hanging around chairs and camping stations. I used to get so excited shopping at BareRose and their raffle ball would send you a gift set randomly just for being in the store, that was awesome.

  6. I do not think there should be an ongoing fee, I do however think that a fee to list should be in place, something small enough like an upload fee costs (10L) so that the copybotters and the scammers would have to pay their new alts and there would be a cash line for LL to follow, then the multiples of colours people could say more colours available in store. I also think that that fee could go towards LL paying staff to APPROVE listings, you should not just get to list everything and anything in SL this also would filter out the theft. But those are just things on my personal wishlist :)

It would be nice if there was a category like there is currently for gachas so that when you have the newest release checked for a store you do not get their 50 items they are trying to resell because they went nuts at a gacha event, if creators cannot make alts to resell and really they truly should because it is so offputting to the customer looking for their actual items, then maybe recent would be recent and gachas would live in their back storeroom :)

The new changes made my day, I LOVE favourite stores, as others have said, instead of having to save a store by grabbing one random item it is perfect to just love a store. Wishlists at this time of the year are also fantastic and a great way to even keep track and come in with alts and buy up what you want.

  7. Are you by chance using RLV? or have anything that could have some kind of control over-rider in it? there are some functions that block sitting so that you cannot get off something by getting onto something else. There have been situations where people have used the free opensource scripts from collars etc and broken them up to use in non RLV related ways but have kept some parameters in that did not behave how intended.

I suggest trying returning to ruth avatar and then see if you have the same issues.

  8. I find the what is she wearing hud useful as the info goes to your chat, it hotlinks to the creator, and it includes the name of the avatar, I am not sure that that info would still be in area search if the person was to tp away while you were looking? where as with the free HUD you have it and can even look at it later. Unless of course area search has a copy to clipboard function which would make the same thing possible just a few extra steps.

I do like the area search concept if you wanted to gather some kind of data overall. Useful tips all of them.

I will admit to playing a game with mine, if I am bored and want to shop I just click a random person, do not look at them at all, and then click a creator and visit the store, it can be fun and has also cost me lots of money by finding awesome creations that way.

If I want to know what someone is wearing specifically though, I IM and I ask, I feel that it is nice to let someone know you admire their look, their own shopping skills etc.

  9. In the past Blogspot had a lot of limitations but a lot more fun themes etc, so many switched or started with WP and from what I have heard Blogspot pulled up their trousers and added so they may be even keel now. If wanting to start a new one, make both see the insides and how they work and choose one then. Easier to see under the hood first.

  10. I personally love appliers and miss system clothing for the ability to mix and match easily. I am so excited for when BOM goes live I think stores like Sn@tch and BareRose are going to be swamped and deservedly so. I love creating hybrid looks with gown skirts and applier uppers so there is definitely room for all types still. When mesh rolled around we lost a lot of very talented texture artists that had no want for learning mesh, and I am glad that they will be able to return or we may get newer creators that have become PS pros, it will be a fun change.

  11. hi, try making your own in Filter Forge, as you will have a lot more control over the colour, the style of leather, the repeats and seamlessness, then you can also now create materials for the leather in the program, there are free trial periods and I own a full forever license and it was well worth it even without selling them, just to be able to do what you want to do, there are thousands of filters you can use alter and change for your designs. I would also suggest googling how to create leather in photoshop, I followed a denim tutorial years ago and it was so perfect in the end, it really is a very enjoyable experience to know you have made them yourself especially when adding to your own creations.

    Good Luck :)

  12. I have not been to play in a few years now, but when I did it was everything in terms of exasperation of falling off things, running into things, being tpd back to start continuously and frustration and hijinks. It was a game, it was fun, it killed some hours, it got a bit crazy when we realised some parts were glitched and I could not get past a level and so on, but that is something that happens. Did we win crystals or whatever, I think so, who knows, I was not doing it for money, it cost me money spending hours playing it because I wasn't doing work work:) but it was a great breather. To say that no one cares about...and that everyone that hung their heads and walked away was doing so because their only interest was the lindens they could not earn, that is shocking to me, for a start many real games online cost, Sl is free to be in and definitely not a game, but has games in it, if you want to spend hours playing games and earning the equivalent of 24c go at it, I drink ten times that in one can of Redbull while playing said game.

I feel that this even though late in the posting is the perfect time to quote my Mum as in our lives our parents are the original Lindens :D

" I gave you a living, I do not owe you one" mind you she said that when I was about 16 and being greedy lol but it works. Lindens give us SL it is free, what we do with it can cost, but it is a choice, they, however, do not owe us forms of earning money to use in this world, but they have found ways to do so, through a few different means, and this is one of the ones that entertain and earns. Do not like this storyline, or the graphics, create your own space, or perhaps have a chat with Patch about some ideas you and your so motivated friends have.

I don't think anyone was being mean to you, but I do think that once you started talking money many were disappointed at the truth behind the rant.

  13. Maybe they just need another option for "This item and maybe these other two items were made for this event, and they will be only at this event,  during this event, the other items in this booth are items I already sell in my store and other places but they are popular and I added them to my booth as options, but again waving arms around, these are the event items *waves arms around more* "

Maybe as simple as Event Item, Evented, Eventalapalooza. Eventashamabingbong too big maybe, how about E to the power of 2 as in Event Exclusive :D

or the term I use a lot on my blog 'FEATURED'  or even "Special Attraction"

I tend to be the other way, I would want to know if not available after the event, because if i wore it a year later thinking that people can go buy it, I would have wasted time of my own and theirs sending them there, so tend to not buy those things.

Personally, I would like to see the shops that ARE charitible make a good faith statement of policy (on their blogs/store fronts/marketplace listing) that they give some percent of their revenues to charitiable groups (either in sl or rl).  I would certainly prefer to support a 'good corporate citizen' with my purchases over one that does't give back.

I am not sure how new you are to SL but a little something you may not have experienced, if all stores were to put what charity they support there would be dozens of people asking why not this one, why that one, they do not like that one, why not this one. Then there would be the other dozen that would say that this one time at charity camp, they had a run in with that charities trombonist and they were rude, and so they don't like that charity now. Then there would be the countries they are from are not the same and so they feel they should not have to donate by shopping to a country that is not their own...many of these things have actually been said over the years in similar cases, so it would not have the outcome you propose.

Philanthropy is awesome, and it happens a lot more than you seem to have witnessed in Second Life. We have as a community contributed at the drop of a hat to some of the biggest world disasters in minutes of the news going live in the past 12 years I have been here and earlier than that I am sure. Then there are the annuals, the fundraisers to support individuals and so on, and those people that you think should be fronting up to this one event you mention, have done so for years now, in other events, been part of,  sponsored, organised and supported many many over the years, they have also helped individuals in need because they cared about them. They are also very often big givers in RL, they care about their SL community and often are the same about their RL ones. They also do things like visit the events, shop them drop money in the donation kiosks and so on, just because you do not see it, does not make it not so.

This kind of post really sort of marks people with a label they are very much not deserving of. Maybe spend some time looking at who provides the land, is part of committees, is friends with organisers and the like, because you may find they do more than you are realising.

I also do not think anyone should be made to feel less than because they do not donate to a charity or fundraiser, some people need the money they earn, all of it, to pay medical bills, to support their families, to support extended families etc, and they will also probably be the person that gives someone on the bus their seat, helps someone cross the road, watches out for an elderly neighbour, makes sure the latchkey kid next door is safely home without being asked to, always shares their lunch with a co-worker who never seems to have enough, or brings an extra treat for the homeless persons dog that is near his/her bus stop...there are many ways to be a good person, and throwing money at something does not always make that so.

sorry got a bit rambly but I am too old here now, I know everyone mentioned without mentioning them has done more than their part over the years.

  15. In events there are a few different uses of the term 'Exclusive' for the oldbies in here, they will remember when events (annual usually RFL based) and stores had exclusives they were a limited time only and cost a small down payment on a car in RL. They were not only exclusive to the event and store, but could often be only so many sold, and it was riot worthy because swanning around in your Flexi blinged-out gown by someone huge back then was big status. Some even did custom work for people, and they gladly paid tens of thousands for them. Now exclusives mean as said 'during the event' or 'during the event and the one or two items that had to be new to be in the event' imagine if you had to write all that. Hair Fair (currently on) has always been NEW and only for sale at the event- then sold in the store as usual, so we do not need to actually label as exclusive during because it is a given.

Other annuals have done one item has to donate, but did not have an exclusive label and people got really upset at finding out that the charity item was already an old item, or even one they already had, feeling cheated out of being able to donate, or that the item was somehow not something the owner of the store really wanted to donate with if they had already sold so many that there were not many newer customers for it, so the events made them do exclusives new etc to fix that. This was not meant to cheat a customer but to let a customer know that in a sea of items, what items were new, what was donating and what they bought there they could not get elsewhere until later, the 'exclusive to the event' is the way you draw the people to the event because for that period of time that is its only location, and that is great.

Then there are the exclusives for bodies, those use the word and then it can confuse people if they think that means exclusive for that body or that event or what it may mean if they feel it is not clear. But this is SL and we have one word for four things all through our jargon. Rez means Rez and Rez and both are different things :)

Exclusive meaning not able to buy it later is never going to mean that unless the event itself is an exclusive event like the limited one, or the past 11:11 one that had only 11 of each item and so forth. You cannot expect that someone is spending sometimes weeks on a product and it being sold for possibly not even a dollar, that it would be any value to the creator to have it only available for a few weeks and then trashed. If the item is tens of thousands of Lindens and at least a hundred + are sold then maybe, and if they did then sell it after for less, you would have every right to be upset about it. The only other way is that you have seen clearly outlined rules of an event stating that it will be removed after an event and then it wasn't.

The applier does add the script yes, but every time its re-worn the script becomes unresponsive and needs to be re-added via the hud. you can't just reset them either due to nomod.

I wear both Slink bodies, and I can leave either unworn for days or weeks (while I wear the other) and when wearing I have never had it not respond to Omega. It is one install, that is all, but the response time is incredibly slow for Omega appliers, so if you are clicking and expecting it to apply immediately I have never had that happen on any product that takes them. So if you have installed again and then it worked it was just that is how long it took. The only time I have to drag out the relay again is if I update and it is a brand new body,  hands, feet.

  17. This has happened to me twice in the past month, and yet only once maybe in the last ten years. I am able to realise something is wrong when I have few if any IMs, and have been lucky enough to log in before capping would occur. However it is not acceptable, and if unaware could cause issues with customers etc. I hope there is something that can fix it, as that Jira hasn't really said much in the past few months.

  18. If you know of sims where people use them, and it is an allowed practice on that sim, it would be best to approach other members of that specific community...sometimes RP sims have their own commercial areas, or check if they maybe have a group or blog that may help you find likeminded users that can help.

Definitely not something you want to just do to people, but if in an agreed upon use such as you mentioned, then have fun :)

  19. At that high a price was the item meant to be no copy? I would check the perms of the vendor and make sure that it was. Also in the last few days SL was having rezzing issues, it may just be that you need to wait a day or so and see. Clearing cache may help, but check lost and found, and also again see what the permissions on the item are meant to be. Also select an item near where you rezzed it and drag while selected, see if it is possible that the mesh just is not rendering for you, but is in fact there.
