I have been locked out of my account for 14 days due to "Keyword Spamming".

To start with... The products were RLV collars that have been on my Market Place since May of 2015.  The keywords that I thought I was using where within the guidelines of the keyword use.  I didn't use any copyright brand names, just generic words related to the product.

They didn't flag all of the collars just part of them.   I did do a screen capture of one of the collars with the keywords that I use on all of the collars that I posted on my Market Place.

In which I didn't get any notice about it at all.  Just BOOM!  Locked out of my account for 14 days.  Yeah, Linden Labs...  This is a total croak full of you know what!

SOOOOOOO... Linden Labs... Tell me which one of these keywords are spam from the photo attachment

    Collar Keywords.jpg

Even more than boots and heels, you have ballet ? , cuffs go with collars they are not collars, blindfold also not a collar, they go with can be used as companion pieces, but that is what adding other items at the end is for to show that they can get cuffs or boots or whatever, same as arm binder. It includes Master in there so again a waste. comes with a matching  ***** ring and yet you did not include piercings, but you also kind of let that fall by the wayside where as some who may be actually searching for one might buy it for the ring and like the collar.

Another suggestion as it is Feb and it is a heart Collar - Valentine, just to make people crazier but be cool and remove it after the 14th :)

I often look at keywords to understand why something came up at all, it is a real mess, I think LL should show keywords in the listing not hide it in the view page source (ctrl U)

I suspect this would fall under abuse or griefing.

This showed up on my viewer view, i could not right click item and no matter where i moved my view, this seemed to be attached to my avatar/screen view. I was just parked on my parcel and this just showed up. At the time, i was on Coolviewer. Coolviewer does not offer restrained love to allow or not, after i logged back in on Singularity (restrained love is disabled), the serpent/snake was no longer showing. Could it be related to restrained love?

A couple of years ago, someone stole my perms. From what i read, perms only allows someone to animate or deform my avatar. Could it be accomplished thru perms? Would anyone know how this can be accomplished?

    https://gyazo.com/63d1d90dd715ecdb524724ead767509d

Someone suggested i reset my password...but around that same time my perms were stolen, i tried to reset my password and kept getting hit with Brute Force  - where i could not change password until i chose some long ass nonsensical password. I dont know if i will be successful  for another reset attempt. :(

That looks like a tentacle, and if you could not select it, it may have just been the mesh was too hard to select. If it is not showing in your wearables, or your Hud attachments, it could be that something due to all the glitches with SL the last few days, is showing as something else, such as the firestorm bridge in the past has shown as a rock or a cube etc. The cool viewer could just have some kind of bridge item that is not meant to be visible that for that moment was. If you are concerned about it being an OLD rlv attachment, then I suggest you log in to the same viewer on an alt and see if it is there, if it is then it is nothing to do with whomever you gave permissions to.

RLV stuff is only item to item or if you wear an attachment that has the person listed as rights to do scripted options to you, such as a collar or a rlv lock etc. If you are not wearing those things, they can't do anything to you. Also anything someone wants to attach to you has to actually be in an RLV folder in your inventory to do so, it cannot attach items to you that you do not own or have set up to be controlled, unless a whole lot of fanangling was done scripts wise to an actual wearable and that is something you would have been privy to and still know you have on.

    I want to be Gunther!

Maybe your what would be worse now is

    Talligurl or Sasy

(Sasy buys kids kazoos that actually play so they can be either annoying or create music)

If I lose, I am still willing to provide you and Talligurl kazoos 😁

I wear a rather bouncy physics layer that looks a bit too over the top when I'm wearing certain outfits. To combat this, I've created a much more subtle Physics layer to represent wearing a bra. but whenever I want to switch them I have to search in my inventory and manually switch them. Is there any way to make a hud button to switch them with one click? or even better, A script that can do it automatically when I add or remove the item it is in?

You could just have a naked you outfit with the braless physics and then a naked you outfit that is with bra physics and use either as your base when dressing as you would be changing clothes anyway, or if you use the FS viewer you can use the favourite wearables section and just throw it in there, I put everything I need quick and often in that section I love it to pieces.

  6. The difference here would be you are tied to your avatar, some people might get firey over the ending to Independance Day (why the President didn't take the kids in after their Dad sacrificed himself to save the world still makes me furious) but if it was a Movie thread, I promise to behave.

Anyone can go somewhere else, they already do, Facebook, Plurk, new SLU and the old, slreddit there are a few more places...but this is SL forums, and SL Residents want to share more, seek help, offer advice on things. Some comments are keep RL separate, but so many SL relationships develop by knowing more and in a very safe way this is the better option. In those other places many have seen huge attacks on individuals, horrible treatment...it would not be tolerated here, more to lose than just being unfollowed by a few people you didn't know anyway.

Groups in SL used to be a lot more prone to big chats, not so much now. Stuff gets lost, does not show to all etc.

If there was a book thread, movie tv show thread, even if years old (often see people responding to old stuff here) if it brought joy to someone, if it made people engage and say hi to someone familiar in world... it is all win, those that don't want it, just don't need to use it.

Create a little somewhere in SL called 'The Knitting Circle' where you can invite other SL residents to talk about how boring their lives are.

Please, not here within the SL forum. It doesn't belong.

I think the suggestions show the opposite of boring lives, seems they have other interests with like minded people. Limiting to a sim avatar limit and timezone vs forum seems unhelpful on catching up, looking back at advice given etc. I understand keeping things SL only if it has to be, but the idea of it being more community rich is a good one.

I was leaving a club to go home & couldn't TP there so i waited a minute was able then when i decided to relog & come back fo find my entire inventory gone even the skin & clothes i was wearing & i want it all back.

in what way whole inventory? are the system folders still there, nothing is in objects, the library ? just the items you were wearing are detached, is it possible your inventory is just collapsed so looks empty ? are all the folders there but no arrows ? I was unable to attach for about ten minutes 20 minutes ago, but tpd to another location and all good, try clearing your cache and relogging.  Ctrl P Network & Files then Directories then clear cache button (depending on viewer possibly) mine was seemingly gone once when I was very new, I lost my mind, but it was there just SL having a silly day.

I'm not entirely convinced by the idea, but I'm not really opposed to it either. I just don't see what the point of it, really. Besides, you're already in a browser - there's millions of forums for various RL topics across the Internet. There's also a bunch of communities within SL that have their own Discords and websites (some with their own forums), and making a forum is really easy... So... I don't know. Give some examples of what would be put in such a board?

What I'm envisioning is a separate category for General Discussion with sections for different types of topics like so:

    General Discussion

    • Books
    • Music
    • Food
    • Games (forum)
    • Sports
    • Tech support (pcs)
    • TV/Movies

Other sections can be added if needed.

It would be a means of getting to know other residents for those looking for friends. Imagine that. Getting to know other people by their own words. Funny how that works in both RL and SL.

I enjoy being able to discuss non-SL related things from time to time. It can be a community building thing, as Syo mentioned earlier: people get to know more about each other than they might otherwise. In addition it's often a source of shared fun: the various 'game' threads that are alive in this section are by no means "SL Only" for example, and look how much fun a bunch of us had talking about Jason Momoa in a couple of other threads.

On the other hand I see no reason whatever to deliberately bring outside (meaning outside SL) politics into any section of these forums. There's already a well known place to do that. We all probably make casual politics-related comments from time to time and that's fine. I see no need to make it the purpose of a thread.

I am not answering to these three separately, they all just grabbed me on the way through the pages because they all tapped into the area.

There are so many reasons for this to exist, and the main is the people of Second Life often have very different RLs than just any other user on the internet, and spreading themselves across many different forums can be hard.

The other week someone asked about Netflix suggestions and it almost got shut down by someone believing it was not appropriate, where as many others were all in because they netflix and other streaming sites a lot, so they were full of useful insight into shows that they could recommend. I personally would love to chatter about things like that with other SL residents, because there are going to be similarities in taste, and also in the past you used to see a lot of shows as inspiration for releases in world, and it would just be fun to suddenly start squeeling in a post about some random show that some random store just made some random item that could mean everyone could live/wear that thing. That is very basic but still fun.

The main examples I have though are things like Wheelies, a group that was a big part of SL culture years back that had members that used wheelchairs in SL because they also did in RL and not only did they have a clubhouse kind of thing, but poseballs for chairs for dancing and meetings to help eachother get through those times that others may not understand, it was an amazing group and I found it because of a YouTube video I came across about a lady with MS that was a Second Lifer etc, we even held a huge fundraiser for them, and it was just community strong.

I also had two friends, completely separate individuals, that i got closer to over years and eventually found out that both had children with Aspergers. One had a teenager, the other a 4 year old, the 4 year old Mother was having such a hard time with finding the right things needed for her child in terms of support in her area, red tape and other atrocities, the other Mother, was able to say OMG no, do this and this and this and then contact this but tell them this and in a 10 minute chat that I conferenced them into one changed the others life in such an instant and impact way. She got it, she knew the struggle she had been there, it is one of the best things I have ever witnessed in Second Life and it was Second Life that made it possible.

We do Fundraisers, Charity stuff all the time as a community, we support and encourage daily in all sorts of ways. So many are shy, so many have no way to reach out to others, and the forums as they stand are helpful in many ways, but to sit down and mention your love of a book with others, your passion for music ( i found a music post the other day here and I played every song for four pages, and found so many artists I would never know because of other residents).

Tech support for those that have beasts or toasters running their second life is also a great thing, so many in SL are geniuses in that area, and many more just have no idea on drivers and memory and what not, that maybe asking there for advice instead of other areas about clothing not attaching or textures looking like tie dye from the 60's could actually be more helpful.

Food is so cultural, and what better food is there than the food you can eat while typing and balancing a laptop or just those holidays where everyone is struggling with a turkey and so on.

    I love this idea...obviously :)

  10. 1530 not spent, the difference in single to Fatpack

A current example and it taps into things mentioned....

A dress I just saw was mildly 'themey' that time of the year and all. Not so much that it was unwearable any other time of year.

The ad stated that there were many colours available in the fatpack and that it was also "customisable"

So I say to myself "OOO maybe I can turn off the themey part'

Then it states that the SINGLE colours also have as many colours as the fatpack!

    Plot thickens.

So I get the demo, the fit is great, I go to check the hud... no hud.

I look again, no hud the only colour available is black with demo writing and a prim etc, so that is ok, the texture work looks decent, and I don't actually mind one colour demos usually if it is just one solid colour option.

So now I wonder, how exactly do the other colours included in singles come into play, and I look at the display and there is a mesh version of the dress rezzed, and it shows that every second part is a second colour. Ok but can I hide parts.

So being all knowledge :P I go into edit, choose select face as that is the easiest way to see how the assignment of textures have been allocated (possibly because not always do people utilise the options and so on) but it shows me very clearly that the parts I want to not show are part of the same assignment as parts that would need to stay.

I think the dress is cute, it comes in Slink Hourglass the demo fits well and I purchase the single, at this point though, I think black is my best bet here because I still do not really know how the colours options are going to work, because the example could be showing what i can do with fatpack and not single, maybe the single only changes one section like trim.

I go home, unpack and the hud is just colour swatches, I click and every second part changes to that colour, so really I now have 20+ versions of this dress for a single purchase. I am not sure if I could have ever hidden parts, or if by customise it just means I could mix up more than two colours and select which face to assign what colour to.

I would have fatpacked if I had more information, but there was nothing, and no demonstration of the HUD even on the ad or on the wall would be helpful to see.

They got a purchase, but not the better of the two.

Even a picture of the HUD and its possibilities would have created a fatpack sale, I accept not wanting to create all textures with demo etc, and the non trust many have in just prims, but even a NON working hud again to show me what I can look forward to would have won the day here.

renaming could be a option, but if you read the notes and explanations there, it's pretty clear it's only valid on those specific islands.

in some ways we'r all guys assembling IKEA furniture... we start somewhere and end with lots of spare parts while the chairs falls apart as soon we put it up right. ...:) and than start asking or read the manual to find out we missed quite important info ...

I once managed to assemble an ikea bookcase in reverse, as though I had turned it inside out...best lesson I learned that day...do not tighten your screws like a crazy person, until you are fully done. You are right, so Second Life, and every so often the Lindens leave out an allen key.

Oh aside from teh build your own ava, back in the day we DID have to go through courses, learn things acquire task points. I think you were not allowed out of your starting place for 48 hours or something.... been a while.. not remembering completely.. now its like here pick one, bang your in world. here follow this link. get ejected from several places until you are so many days... I tried to get some friends in and thy were booted from to many "new person friendly" destinations they never came back..

I am that old :) I remember when you finished the walk around talk to parrots put on jersey and jeans etc, that you ended up at some location. Mine was a snow filled sim with a lone chalet. I walked as horribly as no AO lets you, until I got in there, and I did not know what to do when there, it was Aussie time, no one was around that late at night, and I did not know that tping was even a thing really. I had joined SL from seeing a friend at Transylvania as mentioned before, so I had to contact him on yahoo and wait until he was able to be in world, so my day one and my actual day becoming part of the world at a month apart, as I was so keen to join I joined with dialup and did not realise that was not a good plan from Australia, so had to wait until I got adsl and then hit the ground running. So when someone would say something to me and I would say I was only a day old, they thought I was lying because profile said a month :). That first day I was taken over by him and a group of girls and made over in minutes, then sat on his head on a ride disc so that they did not have to wait for me to move lol. I even ended up modeling for a store that was at Transylvania as she was about to shoot an ad and thought I was too cute in my newness excitement...I went to her store years later and my ad was still up and I still have the outfit in my inventory she gave me to keep.  Day two I found a sim of great people and stayed there for months, worked, learned and ran their whole mall area. SL Is amazing once you get inside the door ♥

My husband will not let me be a hoarder in RL (just today he insisted I bag up clothes to get rid of) so I make up for it in SL.

Having a lot of inventory is fine as long as you observe limits to individual folder contents, so things will load before timing out. Or something like that.  I have old stuff in folders labeled with their approximate date range, where they bother no one, and I take comfort that the first chair I ever made is still there should I ever want to look at it.

I had let mine get out of hand, and the folders were overrun, thankfully @Whirly Fizzle reminded me that that would be the best option for logging on the SL Viewer, as when I am too packed up I cannot, firestorm is fine, SL not so much. I did my three inventories thing and got big chunks moved and was able to log in to play with beta Baked on Mesh lol even more fun if you have an old jam packed inventory :)

Ok...minor update.  Tonight I visited a random sandbox and attempted many of these excellent tips.  Then I came across those "calling cards" I'd completely forgotten about, was distracted (I'm easily distracted under these circumstances) and spent the rest of the evening reading profiles of all my old SL pals going back to the very first one a kindly more experienced avatar , no doubt half my RL age , who had patience with a first day noob who timidly ventured off her landing point.  I think I still have my first freebie outfit including a garish blingy walking stick I was so darn proud of.

I felt both joyful remembering these friends yet terribly sad that those heady days of meeting at least one new friend a day are behind me. Although all these folks have disappeared in SL  I simply cannot bring myself delete their calling cards. <sigh>    I got very little accomplished.

    That is adorable :)

I purged out about 30K last summer.......... sadly, I have managed to re-acquire that much and more since then.

My inventory will always win in SL.  I don't have the patience to deal with it and there is always something much more interesting to do (or buy).

Mine regrew in days, we have a theory that when you delete lots, the gremlin packages that were hiding reappear. I have deleted a few k one day, and had it increase by a few k within days...I shop lots, but not that much.

  15. I got rid of about 20K  just recently and it took days and hours of each of those days and it can be life sucking boredom, but also exciting to find things you have not seen for a while.

What I do though is use the extra inventory windows, I have three open at once. I decide on a folder to tackle, have a planned destination for said items, and a search option .

So I find an item, search in another window if I have more than one copy of the item, unpacked folders, packed boxes etc, and then drag to the destination. If it is something I will not wear often or use in future, then I delete the folder and keep the bag to unpack as needed.

Because I tend to do a lot of checking/testing products for creators, I have an abundance of replicas, so just on one store alone nearly everything I have had 4 - 8 versions of the same thing. So most of that 20k was just on replicas alone, not actually purging anything. It is still the method I use all the way though

I also use the custom option in inventory and turn off everything but LMs when clearing those out, or notecards, always remembering to CTRL select not SHIFT so that you only delete that item not all between. I also make use of the NO COPY to get all gatchas sent to the store folder they belong in, it is faster, as well as age searching being a thing now, if you are out with the old in with the new, it is one of the better updates. Anything older than however many days will show and you can go wild.

I agree that $L4 is a trivial amount.  The OP said "the halo had nothing inside it"...I assumed that she meant the box was empty.  If that was the case, it's an "empty box" scam, and definitely reportable.  If she meant that the halo did not function as advertised, that would be another matter.

I read that as meaning, the halo has no scripts inside, I am glad I asked, interesting to see different takes on things.
