  1. This awesome parcel has sunset views to open ocean, an expansive flat curving beach, a hillside to build a perch, lots of deep water for big boats, and an open public sailing channel that can accommodate the largest sailboat I could find. To be clear, this is not an oceanfront parcel. It also isn't L$200,000. The sailing channel is maintained by myself and a neighbour. We share a philosophical belief in a free access SL experience, and neither of us has plans to move from this great location. With that said, if I do ever sell my own land here it will be offered first to you, at or below the */m rate you pay for this advertised parcel. Stop by, enjoy the view, rez your boat and try the sailing channel for yourself. Feel free to say hi if I'm there http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Haeoreum/90/23/40 L$13,499
  2. 2048m roadway/waterfront parcel. Waterway is open to Mare Secundus - 17 sims of sailing bliss - and connects much farther through the network of Linden waterways. The short ocean access passes under roadways and emerges into north Zaharik near Yabune. From there it's an easy and interesting cruise to the Bay of Space Pigs and the L Shaped Lake, or leave the continent and explore farther! The lot has plenty of water to store your boat in-world, or you can maximize the land and enjoy your own slice of beachfront sunshine! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Daikoku/204/36/29
  3. 4096m protected roadside on an established GTFO route. This superflat parcel is an ideal roadside shape - Square building zone with hypotenuse advantage road frontage! Yeah I made that up, but look at the map image of the parcel - it's true! No pinchy angles - you can use the whole plot! Adjoining primland is for sale if you want more depth, space, and prims. I'm also subdivision friendly - 2048 parcel available on a 1/2 frontage basis. Same /m price. Thanks for looking! Much love everyone http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Paduk/107/207/60
  4. Happy Boxing Day! This great roadside acreage is now priced at L$9990 (1.3/m)
  5. This grand parcel has a new lower price! - 1.5/m - L$11,600 The enormous house will remain when you buy the land - it's a Chateau Villandry from Varriale Designs (sells for $6800). You can live in it as is with its tunnels, secret doors and (soon to be) finished basement. There's plenty of terraform underneath for a parking garage if that's what you need.
  6. This amazing parcel has been lowered to just L$3999 http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Uba/94/215/51 Also the neighbour across the street just lowered the price of their protected waterfront, AND the neighbouring ridge property just hit the market. Check the map - you could own a fair portion of Uba if you wanted to. The whole ridge plus the waterfront parcel would give you 3580 delicious prims on protected waterfront and road, 1 sailing sim away from the north end of Mare Secundus. Add in that sweet private island that also just came on the market, and you'd have one of the most enviable estates around.
  7. Re: land - start with your premium 1024, run out of prims, upgrade tier, buy more land. Rinse and repeat.. Careful, tier is a slippery slope. But for the cost of a couple of dinners out per month, you can have an awesome amount of fun exploring land ownership in SL. Last year I was holding fast at $4 tier (extra 512m), frustrated and drooling over the impossible prim allowances of bigger parcels. Then I realized that, if I drink less beer (insert your own self-improvement here), I could manage much more tier. It was a completely new and refreshing SL for me, and I had the freedom to buy multiple parcels and try them out - locations, esthetics, parcel sizes, different terrains, and more - roadside, water, secluded mountain, wide open plains... I went a little crazy and expanded too far, hence the slippery slope warning, but I have since reined it in to 1/4 sim of smaller parcels, and I'm pretty happy with it If I have one suggestion for buying land, it's to watch the auctions. You'll get a good sense of what different types of parcels are actually worth at "wholesale". I don't begrudge a reasonable markup if I'm buying a parcel I really like - landsellers need to make some sort of income - but it's helpful to have a sense of value so I can make informed decisions. You'll also find that "undesirable" land (ie not waterfront, roadside or easily resellable) can be bought at auction with little challenge, so at or close to L$0.5/m. Undesirable to landflippers might just be perfect for you, so keep an eye out.
  8. And if you do this, please make it phantom! (and allow object entry, and give a 30sec warning on your orb, etc etc) Anyone who flies will thank you
  9. None that I've ever seen. Things move at the speed I drag them in my experience, unless I'm working at the edge of the screen - sometimes the camera swings around fast and the object goes with it. Kind of destroys the finesse. If you really want to line things up properly, it's worth using the grid and/or doing the math so you can just set the position and size numerically.
  10. Don't forget you can experiment with as many local images as you want before you decide to upload
  11. still showing 10k in world, in case you forgot to reprice it
  12. Joined in 2006, left in 2011(?), came back 1 year ago with the same Avi - thanks LL for restoring my account. Lots is different, some is the same. Most of what I knew then doesn't apply any more, like how to make a classic avi look ok, or how to make casino owners spend money on gear. But avoiding drama, dodging sim corners at speed, joining prims without flicker, ...those are talents that still apply every day! Since returning I've found my dream house and my dream boat - both absurdly large - and constantly seeking the perfect sailable waterfront parcel that will hold them both. In my price range, of course I'm a RL musician and educator who occasionally performs jazz in SL. I play the saxophone here and there.
  13. Uba Ridge Clifftop overlooking waterways with open water sims in the distance. Boat rezzing across the street at Tenjin Waterworks with Mare Secundus only 1 sim away! Imposing frontside cliff but the back of the property slopes around for level road access. This has the views and convenience of well connected sailing waterfront without the high price! 1984m, 681prims, L$4259 (2.1/m) http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Uba/99/222/52
  14. 7616m with 60m frontage on the Shortcut between Route 9 & 10 on Jeogeot. L$12k (1.6/m) Regular shaped parcel. No useless skinny roadside tapers. All large parcels in this sim. Uncluttered, uncrowded, clear skies. I camp here AFK, so don't be shy if I'm standing around. Just boot me if you buy it Thanks for looking! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Paduk/94/194/64
  15. I took a 10 year break from SL, and when I came back literally ALL of my friends were gone. Now I have a few acquaintances, but nobody really close like I did back then. It's ok though, my interests have changed a lot, and there are a lot of things to do that I never thought I would find enjoyment in until I tried them. Look me up if you want - we could hang and enjoy long awkward silences
