  1. I have found I have to dumb down the graphics to absolute lowest in order to be able to login then I am able to max out.
  2. mesh just doesn't want to mesh well with me. if I am on non mesh sims I am fine, but it is my whole reason for logging in.
  3. Latest version of this viewer crashes me on login when meshes are in sim. running windows 7, i7 extreme, and 24gb of ram. running mesh with a gtx460, with drivers updated as of today... but crashed it even before update with same issue. If I am outside of mesh sims I am fine, this is a new development for me as of this version of mesh viewer.
  4. I found this thread by using forum search, and am not familiar enough with jira to really want to post or mess with it. However today I have noticed the same issue. I can rez the model, and it is invisible. I can bump into it. I can modify it. If I change the object type.. to something other than its mesh stiching it will blink/appear for a second then tell me I can't change stitching type and go back to invisibility. My models normals are correct, it uploads into unity 3D correctly and is part 2 of 2.. in which part 1 rezzed successfully without issues. I have tried to import the mesh onto grid as a cluster and individually with my collada file and have had no success.
  5. Working on a project where I will need an animator willing to upload their animations to the Demolay grid for a machinima project. I will need basic skateboard and rolelrskate animations and need this by today due to a tight project deadline set by the client. If you or anyone you know is an animator with these animations made and ability to upload to another grid please have them contact me. this is for a one time use in a machinima video, not for resell or any retail means. inworld Failed Inventor email: fe.energy@hotmail.com ( best way to reach me ) skype: perefim
  6. When I look at Second Life in its current state I feel like I am trapped in 1999, in terms of gaming industry vs. SL. There are many arguements and venues to my last statement, but merely stating how I feel, and it is a bit depressing. I feel Mesh is Second Lifes best last chance atm to catch up with the rest of the industry and become a more respectable platform where the rest of the gaming and 3D world communities would stop scoffing at SL as " you mean that place where kids and old people go to have sex together?". Sure mesh won't change what people do in sl, but it sure would make it more appealing, and revive sl's sculpt saturated economy even if only for a while.
  7. I love performance upgrades, they are great everyone wants better performance, hence while viagra sells so many pills. - haha ok now joke over. Now to the next part, and this isn't funny. When I open up your blog LL, and I see your new CEO and his "Immersive Second Life Experience" seeing how little he knows, about the platform, how far behind he is. I think to myself, LL no longer knows the user experience, for it is did LL staff would be throwing themselves of buildings as I type this reply. Do yourself a favor, find a UI, stick with it. You can't patch a sinking ship if you are to busy re-arranging the furniture inside it. cheers, Failed Inventor
  8. I have been a long standing resident of Second Life since 06. During this time I have seen many things, and most of you will probably know me as pretty Anti Linden Lab no matter the choice the make, however it is for good reason 90% of the time. Here is unfortunately another prime example of bad decision making by LL's decision makers. Why Advertising BETA is a bad idea: More ways to pay: Sir would you like to pay for classified ads? how about front page feature? banner space? login screen area? would you like your stuff advertised in our newsletters? how about you pay us to IM residents about your products? We have simply came to a point in which there is too much of everything. Too much product, to much advertisement, too much marketing, too much production, too much time invested, too much cost. No matter how much more money you spend on visibility someone else will always be spending the same as you, for the same products as you... It is simply a cut throat game of bigger and better. What Linden Lab Could Do Right: 1. Cut tier rates - If you want to improve the resident experience, lower tier rates by 50%. If I can have a dedicated server host my sim for 10US$ a month on OS grid, there simply is no reason that tier cost should be at boom time prices. 2. Fix Search - When I type in the exact name of someone or something and can't the item, the place or person, it is a huge issue. If a feature doesn't work it basically doesn't exist in my eyes. With the current system I can type in keyword "wings" I find 40,000 versions of the same freebie leather suits and skins. 3. Stick to your Guns - If you do something, stick with it. simply it all out and stick with the features you have. Core features are important, working features are important, Second Life will never be a solid market place form without stability and a little calm. I look forward to the upcoming mesh imports, but everything else such as name changes, etc etc on and on... are frivolous additions which often cause more error than improvement.
  9. most likely profiles will be forced to be rated as g, m or A... thus making it impossible to contact some residents or see their profiles if you do not have ability to go into a M or A region. Anyways... hmm I dunno there is good in this but also a lot of concern as far as bringing younger ones into an adult grid. Danger for both sides. I also believe teen grid accounts should some how have a status marker indicating very very clearly that a child is a child or minor within the profile, to keep any accidents from occuring. Cause the last thing we need is online predators committing sexual or lewd acts in a g region with a minor, and then saying, oh well I didn't know they were a minor ( escape goat ). Anyways good luck to the teens, please be careful while having fun on adult grid.
  10. Ah yes I the great anti-Linden Lab biased bastard will strike again. ^^ To you I say chop chop chop linden labs.... Linden inworld Liasons , Community Gateways , Teen Grid , Discounts for Edu & Nonprofit , Basic Account Support , Avatars United ,Slex / xstreet the list goes on... are.. now.. gone! I am nearly 100% sure LL's new motto is "Less is more"... cut it all away and charge more for it. Sorry I hate to inform you guys but virtual platforms are not victoria secret or swim wear. Yet here we are being stripped naked, and I would say quiet honestly my bare bottom feels quiet exposed to the so called improvements that generally mean higher prices, less service and more dissatisfaction. Before I am told to go premium account, you should know I once had a premium account, and that premium service included being asked questions like, Are you the owner of Sandbox Cordova ( which is a linden sandbox ) in one support case regarding issues with ghost objects I was trying to receive after a crash. Another great thing was when I was banned from SL after a griefer accused me through support that I was 12 years old. Which is funny considering I have handled contracts on a regular basis with several universities, have been a member of SLDEV and own a registered LLC, all characteristic of average 12 year olds. Once I had faxed them documents of my age verification it took over 48 hours to lift the ban from my account. All this occured cause I didn't give money to a griefer @ SLB ( second life birthday event ). Another great example of tech support would be when a glitch occured in the permission systems and 3 months worth of work was auto returned to me in pieces on a sim build. Because it was mainland, even though I owned the entire region I never had my sim restored. This only cost me oh... around 3,000US$ in development cost, plus the sim rent for 3 months while the sim was being construction... 3 x 200 oh only around 3600US$ over a permission glitch. No worries right. Cause I had the ultra helpful premium support service account, which I paid for... Anyways just food for thought... remember when linden lab says improvements, check your wallets and remember these previous improvements ( cuts ) Linden inworld Liasons , Community Gateways , Teen Grid , Discounts for Edu & Nonprofit , Basic Account Support , Avatars United ,Slex / xstreet the list goes on... are.. now.. gone!
