Marketplace not connecting with Pinterest?

Pinterest is a new, fancy and much talked about sort of pinboard sort of thingy;

Might be rather handy to advertise some stuff we sell on marketplace.

But it doesn't work.

Somehow pinterest can't find an image on marketplace to use.

Is markeplace blocking pinterest?

Is there something we can do or something LL should do for us to be able to advertise our stuff on Pinterest?

Second Life is on Pinterest.  You can add them as a friend.  And it could be the file type of the photo that you are trying to Pin.

I know, I've added SL.

I think marketplace all use the same photo type, but that is something marketplace should figure out.

I can't see why pinterest couldn't link to a marketplace page.

Check which image link you're trying to give it - there are a few diff ones - it should be ending in .jpg

I tried with one of my products and had no problems.

1 -  I have the button on Firefox

2 - I opened the individual Marketplace listing.

Ah, using the Pin it button seems to work, but giving pinterest the url does not seem to work.

(Warning: Geeky language included) One weekend I spent some time trying to "scrape" Marketplace pages to pick out some information on products for use with an idea I had. I could easily load up and see the page in my browser, but I could not access the page programmatically; it kept giving me errors. That's when I discovered that they are using a feature called "Access from browser only" in setting the cookies that keep your login info. In short, it prevents logging into the Marketplace except from a human-controlled browser.

If the image you are trying to pin is coming from a page that contains anything other than a G-Rated public product, most likely Pinterest can't get to it, it will get blocked. It's even possible that it extends to any product image, so you may only be able to access images that appear on the home page without being logged in.

Just a thought, might be totally unrelated but ...
