Black Spots and Speckles on SL Viewer

I have noticed that when I use the SL viewer, anytime I would walk around or move the camera, I would notice like black specks, speckles and choppiness of my SL experience.  It is not like this in firestorm though, although a little bit of choppyness in firestorm.  I have an ATI Radeon 4850 512 MB Video card in my computer, and I know that now a days, it may soon be out of date.  Is there a way to fix the black stuff I am seeing in the SL viewer?

Make sure you have the most recent drivers you can find for your video card, and try going into "Preferences" - "Graphics" - "Hardware" and turning off "Use OpenGL Vertex Buffer Objects."

I have the same problems when I use my boyfriend's laptop. It's a graphics card issue. Try updating your drivers.

oh yes that's a good one too... turn off Use OPen GL....
