I use viewer 2, how can I stop the message of the new version?

Greetings all! 

 

I'm having a little problem with viewer2

I use viewer 2 but I keep receiving a message (in a window) before logging in to download the new version! how can I stop it?.. then also I receive another message when I log in!!! 

sometime I accidently accept it and it downloads then I have to re-install viewer2 again

 

could you please help?

this is for V3 but should be the same or close for V2 (I think).

 

Load the software (viewer) and before you long in,
Me  (top left, click to open)
Preferences  (in the list click to open)
Setup  (in the tabs on left side)
Download and install updates manually  
(at the bottom it will say in a long bar, Install automatically. click to change)

 

I think this will work for you.

why dont you just install the new version?

I don't know about the OP'er but for me, I was going to log on and quickly do something prior to leaving the house.  Then it started downloading software and I was stuck.  I actually unplugged my PC from the wall and left the house without doing what I needed (wanted) to do.  Had to reinstall after that, then I found the “do it manually” button.  I check for updates often enough (sadly daily), that I don't need to worry about getting updates instantly.  But this is just me.

I always opt out of auto anything for my computer.  Just tell me if something is new and let me decide...........I really think I'm more capable of determining what I want than what the software thinks I want.
