how do you get to a place on the map

i click on visit this location but it does not work

Hello and welcome to SL Forums. In Viewer 3 is Menu World --> World Map. You type the name of a region --> Teleport. If you can't teleport somewhere, try another region (place). If you use a slurl, you don't click "visit this location". You click "Teleport now". A pop-up window appeared where you have to click "Allow". After you will see the place profile in your viewer --> Teleport. That's all.

If you are using a LL viewer but you downloaded it before about two weeks ago, you may still have one that starts you out in Basic mode.  You'll be able to tell by looking in the far upper right corner of your screen.  If you see a button that says MODE, then click it and select Advanced.  Then log out of SL and log back in.  You will be in Advanced mode and should have all of the normal functions of the viewer. LL finally realized that modes were a bad idea, so they folded Basic back into the normal system in the most recent viewer.
