The procedure is to request a Re-delivery. There can be many reason why a buyer may not receive delivery of an item. No worries, a record is being kept. You will get your items or your money back, but you have to initiate that process.

I don't shop very often, forgive me. If you don't get an item, there's a I didn't get my item link that appears to go to SL Support. I've never followed the entire process. You want a Re-delivery or your money back. It should be streamlined but idk, it's business, that's how they do it.

Undelivered Marketplace Items:

First of all, just be patient. The software for the marketplace is often unreliable and it may take anything from a few minutes up to an hour for the item to arrive.

If after a few hours, the item has not arrived, just go to the Marketplace site and click on "My Account" under "My Marketplace" at the very top of the screen. You can see here if you have been billed or not by going to "Order History" on the left hand side of the screen. If you haven't been billed, it will explain that the money has been refunded and a payment of zero will be shown. The on screen notes will leave you in doubt of whether you have been billed or not. If you have not been billed, you may want to make a second attempt at buying the product.

If you have been billed, simply send the merchant a notecard inworld. (A notecard is more reliable than an instant message, as instant messages are often capped for merchants who receive a lot of correspondence.) Make sure that your notecard is polite and contains details of the failed transaction. Most merchants will be very willing to resend the item. Please give them a day or two to reply - don't expect an answer within minutes. You must remember that merchants are no different to you and do not sit by their computers at all hours of the day.

One final word, to reduce the chances of the problem occurring again, remember not to buy multiple items at the same time,as this may increase the chance of causing the software to fail. It's safer to buy one object at a time.

Hi twisted, the Marketplace is just often buggy. My post won't help with your current situation but others have noted how to resolve. But, for future shopping: there are more delivery failures if you  use the shopping cart than if you buy items as single purchases.

Personally, I just use the marketplace to browse and then tp to the inworld shop for the purchase; I want it "now" vs waiting up to 8 hours.

Hello twistedcarmel and welcome to SL Forums. It happens sometimes especially when the Magic Box system fails and a delivery gets lost on its way to the customer. Normally you have to wait up to 24 hours. If this time expires as already mentioned your first option is to contact the merchant. If he/she doesn't respond (be patient) your other option is to submit a ticket --> Marketplace Category --> Failed Marketplace Delivery. Explain analytically what was happened, include the order number and the name(s) of the item(s) that failed to be delivered and wait for a reply.

EDIT: If you have often problems with undelivered products, it is preferable to use Marketplace just for market research and after purchase the product in world.

If you are having repeated problems with Marketplace delivery, I recommend changing your buying habits.  There are limits to what you can do successfully with SL's software.  Understanding those limits and working with them will make life much easier.

(1) Don't overuse the shopping cart. It is easily confused if you put more than a couple of things in it.  Delivery from Marketplace is managed by a system of Magic Boxes, owned by each individual merchant.  If those boxes are handling too many orders at once, they tend to lag and can drop orders.  If they are on a sim that is laggy, the same thing can happen.  The Magic Box system is supposed to be replaced this winter, but for now it is wise to buy only one or two things at a time.

(2) Don't buy things from Marketplace (especially LOTS of things) unless you are in world to receive them at the time. We each have an "in box" that holds IMs, notecards, group notices, group invitations, and anything that is delivered to us if we aren't in world at the time. That "in box" can only hold 25 things, total. If anything else comes in, it isn't saved. It is gone ... poof .... forever. If you have a mess of things delivered from Marketplace and half your friends send you notecards, that in box will be capped and you will never know what happened.
