Nimue Mistwalker Posted November 1, 2011 Share Posted November 1, 2011 While playing around on my land today, a 'thing' attached itself to my av. I looked in my inventory in 'worn' and 'recent' and its wasn't there. I couldn't detach it but I was able so send it back to the owner. I logged out and brought an alt on. The thing 'flew' to her and attached. My alt couldn't send it back. I had to bring on the av that owns the land to send it back!I looked inside of it and its got a follow script, a smoke script ..etc. I IMed the owner and told him about it .. to get rid of it or I'm going to report him..I've been on SL for a few yrs and have never had this sort of thing happen before. Try turning your land to No Build, No Object entry, No Script and see what happen or just TP to a next sim/region. ETA: You see this a lot in LL's open sandbox. Me and my sister alts are the only ones allowed to come on my land. I sent the guy a really harsh IM, so we'll see what happens. Ceka Cianci Posted November 1, 2011 Share Posted November 1, 2011 i used to have things like that follow me at sandboes.. i just hit one of my gadgets and used disrupt on them and they died.. some of them were pretty neat though ..like fish or tadpoles..so i kept letting the neat ones regenerate more around me till i had a nice school of them.. It doesn't show up as I log in... it flies in from a certain direction after I've rezzed and attaches itself to me, but, it doesn't show up in my inventory as an attachment... I've seen a lot of crazy stuff on SL.. I've been turned into a naked male avi with only high heels hair and earrings on, but, I've never had something like this before and it's really pissing me off. The 'owner' still hasn't responded to my IM.. This sounds something like the robot that turned me naked & bald the other evening. I was beginning to think that SL is remarkably free of the kinduv malicious code you see elsewhere on the web but maybe it isn't afterall. What's next, booters? I was under the impression that "griefers" were just ppl who annoyed you; didn't realize that they could embed scripts in objects that would do stuff like this. But... it also kinduv scares me, in that if something harmless like this can happen, something worse prolly can too. Ceka Cianci Posted November 1, 2011 Share Posted November 1, 2011 did you check to see if anybody else has something rezzed on your land that may have been there before you turned off no build? it could be something on there that rezzes from a transparent object with a follow script.. also set auto return to like 1 minute and then try relogging..after a couple of minutes..maybe it will send it back if it is something that was there before you turned off no build and no scripts.. I've had this land for almost 6 months.. just me alone and I've only had maybe 2 or 3 ppl visit once or twice. My alts are the only ones that have permissions to build. It waits for someone to come within range and then will follow them around. It may not have been on your land at all , but on the parcel of a neighbor. The owner finally IMed me back and said that he was shooting something off at his gf's parcel, which is right next to mine. He's fairly new and didn't know really know what he was doing. You probably didn't turn off scripts, or it wouldn't have been able to follow. You can use About Land and return all objects by anyone you don't know.
