Anastasya1488311967
ok, so my 1st viewer... was v2.... worked good till bout 3 months.... It would load, but in a milisec second it would disc and say "your region may be experiencing issues. Check your net connection." Ok, so that went on for about a week. My rl sister told me to start using phoenix.... so I did... used it for a few months and ppl told me bout firestorm... which I LOVE!! Been using it for bout 3 months now n now it either freezes at "loading world..." or "downloading clothes...." OR it does the same thing that v2 did to me...So what did i try? Clearing cache, clearing catch manually in the folder on my comp, cleared "user settings" in that same folder, uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted pc a lot, all my LS Bridges are on, reset viewer to "recommended settings", I also did a charator test, AND took off EVERYTHING she was wearing, restarted my comp again... and IT STILL froze at "Downloading world...." I also removed all my viewers from my pc, and just downloaded firestorm. I also unplugged and replugged in my wireless router as well. Oh and my firewall isnt an issue either... tried turning that completely off..Ive contact LL about this earlier this year. They said nothing is negative on my avi... when I called them...BUT!! The catch of it all is..... I can login into my gf's avi, NO ISSUE! On the same viewer.... its just when i login, thats the issue....

Jacki Silverfall
Wow I have no idea what can cause that and I hope some one here can help with it. Also, post this over in the Phoenix/Firestorm website. Might as well cover all the bases.
Peggy Paperdoll
Unless that's the normal background you get when loading Firestorm, I'm going to say there's some kind of video issue. Some computer specs would help.

Peggy Paperdoll
I don't know if posting that screen shot is a good idea.........there are a couple personally identifable bits of information there. I would delete it if I I were you. To give some specs that are pertinant to SL and nothing personal go to the help menu on the login screen and click "About Second Life". You'll see the specs your viewer reports to the LL servers......copy those and paste back here.
Claireschen Hesten
you don't happen to use a display name or possibly have a group tag active that uses a fancy Unicode character do you? i have heard of log in issues arising from the use of Unicode if you log in to http://my.secondlife.com you can use that to change your display name remove any Unicode it may cure your log in issue but i can't guarantee it

Nalates Urriah
There are a number of things that can block your login or viewer start. You have been doing things so rather than try to walk you through something with boring steps you have already taken, read this article and make sure you have a clean install. This article is written for those that use multiple viewers. Second Life Clean Install There may be some steps you want to take on your next clean install. Since you are using Firestorm, look for additional steps in their wiki: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=firestorm_troubleshooting Keep in mind that your sister's login works and your does not. User specific settings are kept in C:\Users\[win_user_id]\AppData\Roaming\Firestorm\... Look in the folder with your avatar name. You will find a bunch of XML files. These contain various user settings that carry from session to session. These files are SELDOM a problem. Consider deleting them a last resort or if you do another clean install. However, the file open_notifications.xml may be causing a problem. Rename or delete it. You will lose pending notifications. Look in Roaming\Firestorm\user_settings\ for settings-beta[-mesh].xml. This file contains the viewer settings. Deleting or renaming it resets the viewer to its default settings. This is a common file to delete or rename when having video problems. Also, before logging in check your Preferences->Graphics->Hardware settings and turn off AA. You can also turn off all the shaders. Or just take the settings to LOW. This should get you logged in. If not, look in Roaming\Firestorm\logs\ for the crash log. You can open it with any text editor. Look in the file immediately after a crash. Scroll to the end and read the log from end to start... looking for errors and warnings. Starting at the end and working back the first one you find should be what crashed the viewer. Hopefully that will give you a clue. If the error message doesn't mean anything to you, post it here. I doubt your video driver is the problem. But, search for your video card model in this forum. The easy answer often given here is to use the latest driver. Unfortunately that can be bad advice depending on the card. So, you need to research which driver is best for your card. Since one login works and yours doesn't, it is unlikely its a driver problem. Just make sure to check which versions work before you decide to upgrade. To change a display name or group as suggested without the viewer visit http://my.scondlife.com. Hopefully you'll find something that fixes the problem.
