Edward Ballinger
I've just completed a build using viewer 3 and the new ability to stretch prims beyond 10m. Now her sim is incredibly laggy both in moving about and in typing. Could the two be connected?
0 Cinnamon Lohner
Anything is possible but the lag is probably not related to the 64m prims. I've been using megaprims in my builds for the last 3 years and they do not cause sim lag. What's the statistics say about the lag problem? 0 Rolig Loon
Nope. The size of prims does not affect lag. If you're having a lag problem, look elsewhere >>> http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Lag
0 Tiny Oberueng
did you check how many scripts being used?
0 Peggy Paperdoll
How many 1024 x 1024, 32 bit textures did you put on that build? Though that won't lag a sim, it will lag the hell out of people near your build who's computers are on the low end of the performance scale. The size of a prim doesn't make a difference in lag. The number of prims will effect lag. And along with the number prims, the texture size (if huge) will "bring people's viewers to their knees" if excessive and they aren't using a pretty graphically powerful machine.
