Not a very exciting week release-wise. Not as exciting as mesh was last week, but being a regular release week should be nice. Let's hope it goes smoothly. We decided to promote the code that was on LeTigre to the main channel.

Second Life Server (main channel)
This channel has some fixes and tweaks related to passing login info to estates.
  • Login fixes to retrieve user information more effectively for estate access control
  • Simulator fixes to usher said user that information more effectively for estate access control

2011-08-30, 4:00am: Rolling Restart - Release Notes: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Server/11

Second Life RC BlueSteel
This channel will remain the same and has parcel rezzing and prim editing fixes.

Second Life RC LeTigre
This is also a "maint-server" project that has some crashing fixes and bug fixes.
Fix for SVC-7169 - "Folders are Texture Category Folders"
Fix for SVC-7192 - "llSetMemoryLimit - Wrong amount being reserved for memory/Display inconsistance with OBJECT_SCRIPT_MEMORY"
Fix for SCR-162 - "Bounds error when calling PRIM_LINK_TARGET in a child prim"

Second Life RC Magnum
Magnum contains the project that attempted to be released last week. This includes changes that were made to the permissions system and to simulator configuration. There should be no impact on existing builds. Additionally the fixes from the BlueSteel region were added to this branch.

We will be monitoring this thread during the next week so please feel free to post issues that you feel have been introduced by the new code. Please file a JIRA for issues you find and post the JIRA link into this thread. It really helps us out. When determining if issues are relevant or not research is key. Tracking down exactly the right situation where an issue is occurring greatly speeds up the development process to get fixes in place.
I appreciate your help. Have a good week!
p.s. If you are interested in helping test SecondLife in beta please join the group "Second Life Beta" in-world. We also have an email list where we communicate upcoming projects and how you can help. ( https://lists.secondlife.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/server-beta ) Once a week we meet on ADITI to discuss new features, new bugs, new fixes, and other fun stuff. You are more than welcome. Information is here: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Server_Beta_User_Group

Two things.  Firstly was there a particular reason for the restart to begin one hour earlier than usual this week?

Secondly as Void and Peewee have more eloquently put  it, please stop this login floater issue, it is more than off-putting it is damned sloppy.  Also I noticed today that despite my logging on to post this, the page still displayed a "sign in" request at top right until I hit "reply".  Also every action I take on this page now brings up that damned floater.

What with Void brandishing a ruler and Peewee doing what Peewee does..nothing I could add would be half as potent, but, please, Oskar....get it sorted.
