Hi, basically a sky box is a box that you put in the sky. It is a place you can call home or just use for changing or a workshop. In Second Life, we can have stuff up to 4096 meters up in the air, that means if you don't want to be on the ground, you can be in the sky!

This is fantastic for many reasons, among them being, relative privacy, less lag because there is less to rez and wonderful views, to name but a few.

They can be anywhere from a simple platform, to a giant castle.

A skybox is a catch all for any dwelling, platform, work station, etc. that is put in the sky instead sitting on the ground.  You can take a regular house designed to be placed on the ground and put it in the sky and it's a "skybox".  You can also take a skybox and place in on the ground and it becomes a home, platform, work station or anything else.  The only difference is where it is placed.........ground or sky.

For me its only a "term" used in secondlife, so think about the name SKY+BOX, yes simple as that, it shows you that you can be in the sky in your home with more privacy (the privacy is relative too but its another question right? :))

so you can buy, build, on the sky as you can do on the ground.

If you buy a house and elevate the house to the sky , gues what? you´ll have a skybox :)

Yhats why i told you it´s only a term.....
