Having an issue which may or may not be Firestorm related

Ok, I don't really know how to put this but I have had this very WEIRD issue lately, first on PC and now on my laptop.  Essentially I use Firestorm like normal, like I do, and after some time, anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, when I go to open a tab from my browser, it won't respond.  I can alt tab and sometimes select FS Viewer but the browser window won't respond.  If I ctrl alt del, everything goes back to being fine.

I only think it could be FS related because both times that it has happened it was when I using Firestorm (or maybe I just use it often).  Right now I am trying the SL Viewer to see if I can re-create the instance.  I brought my PC to the store and they said they were going to re-install everything (which sucks).

I'm not sure it is FS's fault as many people were using it SL yesterday during an event I was hosting.  No one I speak to has ever heard of such an issue.  I ran my anti-virus and scans and nothing came up.  This started happening Saturday (November 12, 2022) and I most noticed it when i would scroll my mouse, and the mouse would not leave the FS window to go to the Taskbar.  So IDK, again, it may be something else, but I wonder if someone has something similar.

Firestorm doesn't really crash though.  Like it doesn't really freeze either.  It just, what happens is I can not bring up the taskbar. Or when I click on browser, tabs fly open and my mouse kind of behaves haphazardly.  I've been trying just using the standard viewer, still testing but no issues of late.

If you are using Windows 10, there are Windows issues that can also cause the problem. Run Windows Update then open a command window with admin privileges and run SFC /SCANNOW

Ok this is the first time I have heard of this.  I run sfc scan now and it repairs the issue.  Like I literally just got my PC back from the store after they reinstalled windows.  I had the PC for about 4 hours and had the EXACT same issue.  So I have no idea why this is conflicting with Windows 10, it literally started happening 6 days ago and I have had this computer nearly 2 years now.

Win10 updates about once a week. Windows 10 changes from week to week. So that it once worked and now does not is no surprise to me.

If you run SFC (System File Check) every couple of weeks you'll find system files are getting damaged often. I have no clue how or why that happens. But I do see the results.

At times SFC will find problems it cannot fix. Then you move on to DISM. (Tutorial on repair with DISM) What is being repaired here is the the Windows File Store. The 'store' is a backup the system uses to recover files to replace damaged files.

You know what's interesting.  I had a similar issue last night.  Again.  And it happened when I switched my mouse to "Off."  Think it might be related.  I went back to my standard mouse and have not had an issue *knocks on wood* since, with FS running.

Something I've discovered fairly recently. Low batteries in a wireless mouse can make all kinds of weird things happen. Cleaning the mouse pad helps, too. I use warm water and dish soap. Blot as much excess water with a terrycloth towel, then either blot a bit more with paper towels and use immediately or allow to finish air drying.

I can honestly say. After using FS the whole day off and on with zero issues, that the other mouse must have been the issue.  This was one of those that didn't have batteries.  You plug it into the pc, and it charges, plug USB in when you want to go wireless.  It really was more than I really needed as far as a mouse is concerned.
