Can I get a head and avatar that looks like myself in real life? I've already dreamt of having custom avatars that resemble me accurately.

But I meant short torso long legs hehe.

As an artist I can tell you that most of the bodies you see in SL are wildly distorted in terms of realistic proportions as a default :) ... and that's especially the case for both leg length (far too long) and torso length (far too short), as well as heads that are far too tiny for the body they are on. It's just the look that many human avatars seem to sport, unless they go for a major degree of exaggeration as a look (I'm talking at you Kupra, and also the 7'6" tall male avatars who expect a 5'9" gal to dance with them).

As an example ... almost every single default female shape that is supposed to look "normal" (i.e., not like some bubbly kawaii 18+ girl with cutsie baby face) has the crotch set up where a woman's belly button actually is, about 18% too high. That's because the legs are set to be too long and the torso too short. I keep saying that obviously none of the major body developers have actually ever studied anatomy ... they certainly don't where hips are supposed to be for sure. ;) I mean, I get the leggy model look but it's beyond that.

So yes, you can easily adjust the major brands of male body to be exactly as you like, except most of them will be quite tightly toned/muscled, unless you apply a BOM skin that softens that look. The cool thing about SL is you can be and look however you like, proportional human, lithe elf, a wolf, or even a house cat.

in fact, not all human have ideal proportion

there are slightly different between left and right side, limb length foreach side not perfectly equal .

there  are 3 major body types

ectomorh,endomorph and mesomorph

many are mix of them , plus some misbalance .

I'm grateful for all the information! May I know what a BOM skin is? I have very soft skin in real life until the usual male avatars in Second Life. Therefore, I'm asking about it. Also are there softboy shapes that are not too dramatic in the glute area xD?

BOM means Bakes on Mesh. It's skin that's meant to go onto your mesh body or head without needing an applier. Bakes on Mesh is the equivalent of our old system layers, except that with skins, makeup, and layers made for Evo X heads BOM layers are made for specific mesh bodies and heads, rather than for the basic system bodies. BOM layers can be skins, tattoos, makeup, or clothing layers, but they're always close-fitting, like painted on.

Mesh clothing sticks out from the body a bit, like real clothing. It's possible to wear both kinds of clothing at the same time. BOM or system layer clothing is best for underwear, tank tops, bikinis, stockings or leggings.
