Also check Abilities to make sure no one can Abandon Land to Governor Linden or sell passes to the land, nor Make the parcel Show in Search unless you want it to and possibly a few more I can’t recall without being logged inworld.  kindly encourage abiding the Good Neighbor Commandments on the Abnor Mole Created Obelisks… and Enjoy SL ❤️

Thank you, thank you!

Also, if I hold this 1024 mainland parcel as a Premium member with $0 monthly...

once I Deed to Group... will this increase my payments in any way?

I cannot afford any payments beyond the yearly Premium fee.

You are allowed to contribute your 1024 land allowance to a group without penalty, if that's the only land ownership/contribution you have on Mainland. What you want to do is set the parcel to the group, check "allow deed to group", then check "owner makes contribution with deed". This will move the land into the group's name and will at the same time move your 1024 allowance into a contribution to the group. Read more about it here:

You are the cleverest @Sylvia Tamalyn !  Doing this ^^ has a nice benefit.  It's also going to cause 10% Group Land owned bonus!! So when you look at your Group contribution you will notice that you have only used 931 m2 of the 1024 you donated or deeded to the Group...  so you can use the 10% left over to get another little parcel of 91 m2!  (which is not a size that's possible to have subdivided in Second Life so you'll have to find something that's 88 m2 or less).... or donate to a worthy cause like a homeless Cat Sanctuary Group or a Noob Friendly place like Free Dove (to help pay their tier) or you can also loan it to a Tier Rental Co-op and they will pay you for borrowing your tier!  <--- You won't get rich this way, but it's better than getting nothing at all for your leftover tier.  The other thing you might consider is getting a little bigger parcel.  If you use a Buy For Group option the 10% bonus is available before you Deed the land to Group!  That means you could shop around for a 1126 m2 size parcel and Buy For Group for exactly 1024 m2 of your free Premium tier!  WooO hOoo!!

Step 1... Donate the tier to the Group before you buy anything by opening your Land Group Profile and click the Land & L$ tab.  Look for the Your Contribution box and type in 1024... then click Save... now the Land Available will say 1126 m2 so you can Buy for Group a nice 1126 m2 for only a 1024 m2 tier donation!

To Buy For Group directly and avoid those few seconds of being in a higher tier level (and paying USD $4.00 for an entire month)  you must stand on the parcel you want to buy and wear the Tag of your Land Group and open the About Land window and look for the Buy For Group in bottom right corner in Firestorm Viewer, like this...

VERY IMPORTANT.... on this next gif, if there aren't 3 green check marks... stop and don't say yes or you may get charged a tier tier level for a month!!! ...

Now you're all set to get the most bang for your 1024 m2 and have a lot of fun making your new parcel... whatever you can imagine into virtual existence!

Also...

There are many helpful wonderful decorators and designers and landscapers who will help you with anything that you need.  We have all been in your shoes, a little confused and unsure and we made it through and pay it forward... by sharing our experience to help you to avoid the same screw-ups we made when we were new to something in SL ♥
