Karlee Heartsong
What are some of the ways you make friends in SL? For me it is riding motorcycles and being in a Motorcycle Club (MC). It took a lot of research for me to find a group or MC that I felt "comfortable" in but I did find one. It is built on Respect, Community, and Honor. In SL, as in real life, there are Riding Clubs and MC's (Motorcycle Clubs) who enjoy cycle rideouts (going together on long rides on more than 90 tracks that can go up to 4k m). More important, like a social club, members feel connected, run events and charities, host dance parties, celebrate life just like anyone else does in SL. Like any group in SL, there are good ones and there are bad (filled with drama) clubs. Anyone wishing to understand and try an MC way of life has to do their due diligence and research, meet & greet, and get to know members before deciding if "rideouts" and "fellowship" mean what they hope it means. There are many clubs with retired RL bikers. However, there are many RL social riders who retired from business, universities, the military, and many other venerable professions who choose to connect with people who are like minded. For example: an MC Mission: Rideouts Together; Motto: Respect, Diversity, Inclusiveness, Fellowship, Freedom & Fun. Send me an IM if you would more about Mavericks MC. Karlee Heartsong RL Bikers who can no longer ride in RL have joined SL to continue riding and may SL clubs are filled with these wonderful people. Hope that clarifies what I meant. 🙂 Edited September 23, 2021 by Karlee Heartsong Clarify a point in the original post.

The drama hogs are few enough that one shouldn't worry about them. Those wanting to join an MC should try some ride outs and events with various clubs to get a sense of whether they want to be part of that group. Interested people can join MC supporter groups to get notices of events and rides. Hope to see you on the road some time, or at one of the rallies. Peace and respect

Peace and respect Hi Elysienne, I have met one or two of your sisters. They were very nice. I agree fully with everything you say here and thank you for the further clarification. I always say to new people that it is not us choosing them it is them also choosing us... this goes for any MC not just Mavericks. Joining supporter groups is one of the best ways to discover what a club is all about. There are a lot of MC's out there folks and most are even willing to teach you everything you need to know about the MC world, including how to ride, how to adjust the bike to your specific riding style. Most of the people I have met have been great, a lot of fun. There is always something exciting happening. Most MC's are like out families and clans. I highly recommend joining more than one support group. I myself am a member of the support groups of our allies. If you do wish to do something new and exciting, check out the Motorcycle world. Of course, I would love it if you chose to start exploring with the club that I am the Vice President of but ... lol, that is not always the way to go.
