According to the Slink group applier skins won't work on Slink body.  Unless i completely misunderstand what they are saying.  They may be only referencing appliers for clothes.

I own a SLink HG body and appliers do work on the SLink HG Classic, just not on the SLink HG Redux which is fully BoM. 
I got both because I bought the SLink HG bundle which included the classic variant as well as the redux.

The Redux is what I meant.   I haven't worn classic since I went to BoM
